He did well there. Besides the jab, he started to time Rivas well with quick right hands over jabs that fell short. The difference with Povetkin (especially earlier on) is going to be Povetkin's a) speed and b) head movement.

Not really.
I was struggling to pick a favourite. Cullen is more proven at a better level, has more range and experience going for him.
BUT Chelli looked strong @ 175 and fantastic @ 168 and is facing a spindly, stopped-twice guy moving up. He should also have improved more from his last fight.
I couldn't pick either with a lot of confidence. :maybe:

that said..
I@m surprised the money seems to have piled on Chelli, yeah. Thinking of betting Cullen pts - he was talking about "boxing a game plan" and not getting pressured by a crowd to please his fans. He should have the length and pedigree to box a decision. If Cullen dec gets to 5/2 I'll bite.....

252lbs is now a weight which proves a fighter is 'taking it seriously'

It’s his usual weight when he fights a tough challenge. I think he has weighed less than 250 as well, I believe the Chisora rematch.

Weights not an issue, seems like a catchweight? Both guys 164. Chielli looked awful in bis last fight, meanwhile Cullen put in a performance he can be proud of vs Cash.

Going to be very interesting to see who out of whyte and Pov has undergone the most successful drug program over the last few months, my guess is the Russian with a state-sponsored program, rather than homegrown one Dill would have used.

But the big russkie will probably still get battered, because at 70 years old he’s going to be slightly passed his best.

Pov and Ort should have an old man druggie fight

Winner gets a needle in their butt after their next sponge bath

In case of the loss it would be a good nothing to lose entertaining affair for Povetkin. For both of them actually.

I’ve put a few quid on Chelli KO.
I think his style could overwhelm Cullen and force a stoppage.

Coldwell is growing on me. Good pundit even on Sky. One of the few not afraid to speak his mind.
He was very gracious taking about Fowler a couple of weeks ago. Said that Shane McGuigan had improved him.

I hope everyone enjoys the card.

Both Whyte & Povetkin look in great shape

Top boxers in the UK are granted TUE's (therapeutic use exemptions) just a shame the fiasco Whyte was caught in last year much bigger names than him have currently been granted TUE's but nothing is said or mentioned

#food4thought !

yes cullen to me looks very good fighter, i think zak throws a lot of wasteful punches , can see jack stopping him
fight of the night for me. i think it takes couple rds cullen find his range this is where zak can attack him early with his big shots, i think cullen should becarful early work his way in to the fight slow ,use the jab but just to frustrate zak, then i can see jack putting it on him possibly stopping mid late

i think whyte will pressue povetkin where him down father time, late stoppage. unless pov gets an early shot and hurts whyte and that changes it up , think it will be competitive

I've put a few quid on Povetkin to finish it in rounds 10-12.

Up until the weigh-in I had Whyte winning. Now I'm thinking that Pov can wear Whyte down and maybe even stop him late. Whyte looks a bit fat still, despite being heavier in latter fights.

I'd say, Whyte is in his absolutely perfect shape right now. Particularly for him it's OK. He's not a physical specimen, like Fury, for example.
