From December 2021. The ref got the blame but I don’t think the result changed.

WBA supervisor Stan Christodoulou has confirmed that the three knockdown rule was applicable in his Pan African middleweight title fight between newly crowned champion Roarke Knapp and Cristianno Ndombassy, amid a call for boxing promoters and boxers to boycott his lesser recognised titles..

Tony Nyangiwe, who officiated in the match last weekend, tarnished his image as a respected referee by ignoring the three knockdown rule when Knapp had been dropped three times in round three.

“Let me respond explicitly,” Christodoulou stated in a written response sent to Sowetan. “The recent middleweight title fight was conducted under WBA rules. The three knockdown rule was in effect. As always, the referee was the sole arbiter in the ring, not the fight supervisor.”

Interesting, I find it hard to believe they would add and outdated rule. But I obviously don’t know.

Simular thing happened with knapp last year, was protested but knapps win stood even though he had been knocked down 3 times. But that wasn’t a world title just some minor title.

One thing is for sure, all pro boxing should have the same rules. (Personally I would have 3 knock down for 4/6/8 rounders).

Shameful fight.

Fury looekd decent as was to be expected, but didn't look close to putting Chisora on his arse, despite Chisora doing a great job of replicating a heavy bag and Fury hitting him with all he had in his arsenal.

People like Barry Jones need to stop yanking their chains about Fury's so called improved power.

after fleecing the public with their sparring session.

Fury and Chisora spend 10% of their purse towards a 5 guys meal.

You need one guy (usyk) to set it up with and get in in the ring proper not hanging off the edge. Amature hour whoever was in charge of putting all that together.
I honestly think Joye Joyce would beat Fury. He's big enough, strong enough and wont back down. I think JJ wins by stoppage.

I think he would have some moments but can’t see him beating Fury. I think Fury beats Joyce fairly comfortable

I think it’s fair to say that Joyce brings something that Fury has not had to deal with before.

As Parker and others have found out, just because you know exactly what to expect from Joyce it doesn’t mean you can handle that style.

Fury had better be ready for 12 rounds of significant discomfort.

Fury’s overall movement is by far his best attribute. But there are a lot of positives with Joyce; he is very hard to discourage, doesn’t seem to care about missing punches, is very persistent with that jab, and reliably jumps on his opponent the second he takes a solid hit.

He could well be a nightmare for Fury.

Yep, styles make fights and all that, and Usyk / Joyce both have styles to make it extremely difficult for Fury, albeit for totally different reasons. Really hope one of those fights gets made next.

Their sparring allegedly didn’t go great for JJ. I think Fury of a few years ago would have shut him out. I’m not sure if he’s capable of that style anymore.

There is no doubt Del Boy is a brave, guttsy hard so and so.

But, for his own good he should be brought in front of the BBBofC and have his licence revoked.

Alas, the BBBofC will do f*ck all. They are too preoccupied by a certain fighter “taking them to the cleaners”.

Just watched the fights as wasn't paying and am glad I didn't. Has anyone explained what happened in the Dubois fight as none of the punches especially the last 2 seemed to have touched him ? On the radio they said he had injured his knee but he seemed ok later on. Foster couldn't wait to jump in when he could have given him the between rounds breaks to assess things.
The Fury fight was horrible and the crap afterwards was even worse. It's just embarrassing now listening to Fury and I'd love to see Usyk beat him

Anyone else notice Fury's gloves doing that slapping motion in the replays that got Wilder and his fans wet??

He throws it weird, just flicks with it purposely as a blinder to set up the right hand/uppercut, why not a stiff jab ffs he's more than capable, Fury has a shite but effective jab
