Not just an overrated fighter, according to Hearn, 'the most overrated fighter in the game.'
The most overrated fighter in the game and the greatest puncher in history as well?
It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. What do you think?
It's a boxing promoter speaking about one of his boxer's main rivals. There's always been shit talk involved with that. Not sure why, in this instance, it should be taken literally and not the usual hyperbole?
Hearn's already acknowledged that a fight between Joshua and Wilder could end with one connection from Wilder, so the part where you stated he'd suddenly be claiming Wilder as the greatest puncher in history, well, he's ack'ed the power that Wilder possesses already, so it's not as if he's changing his mind on that part of it.
Not sure how Hearn can acknowledge Wilder could knock Joshua out with one punch, yet claim he is the the most overrated fighter in the game.
Few, if anyone, rate Wilder the best heavyweight in the world but most rate him 3rd or 4th best because that is a reasonable assessment of where he stands.
Boxing promotor. Hyperbole. That's how.

I don’t really see the contradiction tbh. There’s always been big punchers who can’t box particularly well. Wilder has just benefited from an extremely weak division where the overall skillset and stamina is so low that he eventually lands. If he’d boxed in the ‘70s or ‘80s, he’d be nowhere in the conversation (although admittedly you could probably say the same about Joshua too).

It appears the removal of the ridiculous one way rematch clause has bought about agreement. Good. Let's get a heavyweight fight happening, even if it isn't the best one out there.

Agreed. I think it will be an entertaining scrap. Won't go the distance.

Despite Eddie Hearn’s waffling, it looks as though Anthony Joshua will, in fact, see action ahead of this winter’s planned superfight with Deontay Wilder. Sky Sports
revealed yesterday that Dillian Whyte had signed and returned a contract to rematch “AJ” on August 12th at the O2.
Whyte (29-3, 19 KO) previously rejected a contract that included a one-sided rematch clause, which Joshua (25-3, 22 KO) ultimately removed.
Mike Coppinger
later confirmed the news, though he noted an “alternative undisclosed opponent” had also agreed to the matchup. The choice of opponent “should be confirmed in the next 48 hours.”
The pair are technically 1-1 in their rivalry; Whyte beat Joshua by decision in a 2009 amateur bout, dropping him along the way, but got bashed into submission in a 2015 pro match. Both also find themselves in eerily similar circumstances, having each won a decision over Jermaine Franklin to bounce back from defeat in title bouts.
I don’t hate this, honestly, even if Whyte did beef it abominably against Tyson Fury. It’s got some genuine animosity behind it, Joshua clearly still needs time to acclimate to Virgil Hunter, and if the Wilder fight comes together in December, it’ll be the first time since 2016 that Joshua fights three times in a calendar year.

He's rematching a guy he knocked out years ago, barely losing a round in the process. The bloke is coming off the worst run of his career and looks finished. It will be PPV.

Rematching a guy he beat previously whilst barely losing a round? Sounds familiar.
I don’t mind this fight. I just don’t like the idea of it being PPV.
It’s baffling that both Sky and DAZN, unless I’m missing something, have no U.K. shows formally announced. I’m not a fan of FW but at least he’s making fights and putting them on with a bit of notice.

Yes, it has a lot of similarities with the Del 3 fight.

Whyte only has 2 wins over Chisora. He should go for a historical 3rd at some point.
If Joshua has slipped as far as some suggest, then it sounds like a close match up.

Everyone has beat Chisora once but only the best beat him three times.

Joshua and Whyte cannot act to save their lives.
Both are friends when the camera's are off.
Will the fight happen? Soon find out.

Dated for August the 12th , well shall i watch it or shall i not , its such an intriguing fight i will let the weather decide , August were coming out of winter , its getting warmer but still the chance of rain , So i shall get up early aug 13th not checked but assume it will be a sunday ,, make a nice big MUG of coffee , look out the window , if its raining i will stream the fight , if its nice i will start my bike up and go put a couple of 100 klm on it before the wife gets up .
Thats how intriguing this fight is , whats more i consider it my duty to stream and not pay for this shite , the result will be no different except AJ will see it has a come back fight want to make a statement , he will go for Whyte , push him on the ropes deliver an uppercut and walk back with his hands raised .
Second thoughts , Naaaw think i'll just not bother and go for my sunday ride raining or not

Could be an interesting one, Whyte a lot more experienced than when he fought AJ first time and he has more to gain by winning. Add into that AJ maybe a bit more gun-shy than in previous years so it could be a 50/50 fight.

Boxing really has become a total joke.
A non title fight, in fact a rematch, where the A side battered the B side several years ago, and the B side, in his last high profile fight, got the living shite kicked out of him.
The fighters greed is the problem here, PPV is the only way it can be paid for.
