His chin isn't quite up to the same level of a 38 year old Chisora, but possible similar levels of grit and heart.

wilder and AJ both have paths to victory. i do think a tentitive AJ standing at the edge of wilders 1-2 range is very dangerous, but he can no doubt dint wilder too. Its a very very tense one.

Well that was a bit of a let down of a card from the heavyweights, except for the southern area title fight

Hrgovic v McKean
McKean decided early on he wasnt going to win in a shootout or outbox Hrgovic so spent two thirds of the fight leaning all over him. Awful spectacle. Then when he finally opened up in the 12th round (predictable) he got stopped by Hrgovic. I stopped scoring after 4 rounds but its hard for anyone to look good against that approach. BUT Hrgovic got the stoppage, so a wide win on the cards wasnt needed anyway.

Chisora v Washington
Chisora is looking more and more like the General from Watership down. Washington seemed like he didn't want to hurt Chisora, and practically stopped throwing when he realised the cut wouldn't end things early. Another awful spectacle. I felt bad for Washington, he looked jaded by the whole thing as it unfolded.

Joshua v Helenius
Heleniua as expected came with zero ambition (this is still actually a surprise to some) and Joshua decided he might as well get some rounds in with a tentative approach that was annoying the crowd. Hats off to Helenius, though. He keeps signing up to be knocked out. Proper professional.

Fisher v Armstrong
Good little fight that. After getting put down in the first, Armstrong came forward constantly and won the next couple of rounds, making Fisher look a bit lost early on. Then Fisher started to land clean heavy shots, one or two a round. Til he nearly took Armstrong's head off - I don't know how Armstrong stayed on his feet tbh. Correct decision for the towel to come in, though. The difference in power was telling.
Easily the best heavyweight contest on the card.
Good experience for Fisher, though he should probably have been matched with Jamie TKV.
Even so, great chin on Armstrong, and a good performance from a guy not there to lie down.

Bad fight. Helenius acted like he simply waited for getting beat up. Joshua hesitated too long for that.

Yeah - that’s exactly how I saw it too.

It’s a shame he’s seemingly so hesitant to throw the right hand. It seemed to be there for him off the jab for most of the fight but rarely threw it.

Hopefully the way the fight ended will give him confidence for the Wilder fight.

Wilder can kayo such Joshua pretty fast. This bout is still intriguing and wanted.

Let’s hope AJ does a job on Wilder as then we have an interesting build up at least to look forward too.

Yeah. I can’t see Wilder blowing away AJ early but unless he’s making Wilder pay for his mistakes then he’ll be caught by Wilder at some point.

The backlash against AJ has been severe. He’s just a fooking idiot, isn’t he? Breakdown when he loses and a lap of honour for beating Helenius? I’ve never known anything like it. And I’m sick of hearing about “the old AJ”, he’s gone, and wasn’t that good in the first place. Booing at a half empty O2…..

He’s obviously not sh!t, he was a good fighter, but people had him as unbeatable! They’ve all deserted him now and he’s noticed!
