You might be surprised.
Crolla has learned to fight conservatively. He moves in and out with hands high and is actually hard to catch cleanly. Abril is negative and the judges have scored against him in some rounds he won because of his negative style. With the crowd cheering every Crolla punch, and Hearns promotion (see Burns vs Beltran), then all Crolla might need to do is make it vaguely competitive and he'll get the win, even if he gets outboxed.
Financially, its much more beneficial for ALL concerned (apart from Abril) if Crolla gets the world title.

The likes of Mathews, Rees, Foster and Murray might have found him hard to hit, Derry didn't seem to have too many problems first time round though, but Abril is a whole different ball game. Being difficult to hit at domestic level doesn't mean you'll be difficult to hit at world level, a tight guard isn't going to be enough to stop Abril landing clean IMO, he's going to need to move his head a lot more, more angles and punch on the way in, otherwise it's an easy night for Abril. I just can't see a way Crolla wins the fight, unless they absolutely rob Abril, or he's far better than he's shown in the past.

abril throws at air and gloves a lot and is risk averse. crolla just needs to fight a boring fight like derry 2, lose by 2/3 rounds, and get a close SD

If Crolla fights like he did in either fight against Derry he won't win a round, Abril is far better than you're giving him credit for. Crolla is and has been fighting at domestic level, Abril is world class, that's a huge gap to bridge, especially without any real punch power, weight advantage or anything to really trouble Abril, other than being compact and doing the basics well and that isn't enough to win world titles in the majority of cases IMO.

I understand Abril is class. Very difficult to hit, great technique (cuban after all) and pretty slick.
I don't doubt he will win the fight quite clearly on most sane peoples cards. The issue is, this is a hearn promotion, in crollas backyard which will be given the big build up and we know what the manc fans are like.
Hearn promotion (don't blind yourself to the shitty scorecards in the past) + Manc fans cheering/going wild for crolla even if he misses + crolla "winning" 4-5 rounds by having a high guard and not getting hit and making some attempts which get cheered massively = in my opinion, a possible "win" for Crolla.
We are not talking about a terence crawford or floyd mayweather/ DLH/ whitaker/Marquez at 135 here. Abril lost to prescott and Lundy and his last fight against a very average fighter was a MD. Actually watch his last fight and you'll see what I mean. He won the fight by about 3-4 rounds but it was a MD because of his fight style. He doesn't put the rounds to bed. Crolla just needs to be as good as his last opponent, Edis Tatli (who?), to have a real chance of getting this on the cards.

i'm just giving the alternative view. To be honest, I'd make Abril a 1/4 shot if this fight was happening in america.

I think Wlads trainer Johnathon Banks at 9/4 on PP is a great price to win on points over 10 rounds against Antonio Tarver tonight on the Trout undercard live on BT Sports 2 tonight. Both have been extremely unactive but you would have to think it would have a more adverse effect on the 46 year old Tarver especially up at Heavyweight

I always get confused when reading each bookies t&c's regarding free bets, I want to open an account with bwin and get a free bet on Alexander this weekend but not sure how there offer works, they write :-
•Get an extra 100% up to 30 GBP on your deposit amount as a bonus.
•The bonus will be based on your first deposit after the account creation; this deposit has to be made within the next 30 days after the account creation.
•Minimum Deposit: GBP 10.
•Bonus type: Release restricted. Bonus funds are released into your cash balance as you meet the requirements.
•The release requirements of your bonus can only be met when playing SPORTSBOOK.
• Released after wagering 3 times the bonus amount.
•The bonus will be released in 2 equal increments. The play requirement will be equally divided across each increment.
•Time to release bonus: 30 days.
Can someone enlighten me, like do I have to bet first before they give me a free bet?

I don't think you do for this one. Deposit £30 and they will give a £30 bonus. You wont be able to withdraw it until you have staked £90 though

Interestingly I mused also a few days ago that 1/4 reflects the real price of Abril - wherever it takes place. Startling value to be had here. Might have to capitalise.

I may not be spot on here but this is the general gist in a scenario.....
Firstly you create your account and deposit between 10 and 30 notes.....say you want max value and deposit 30.
Now you will have the 30 "real cash" that you deposited into the account plus your "£30 bonus" which you cannot spend.
In order to turn your "£30 bonus" into "real cash" you have to spend 3 x your initial £30 deposit - so £90 before you get your "330 free bonus".
This has to be done within 30 days of setting up the account or the bonus is lost.
So in short you have to deposit £30, then spend £90 on bets in 30 days to release the "free bonus of £30".
Hope that it makes sense. Not sure about the increments though.
As a side note just double check T&Cs as most books will only allow a bet to qualify if its odds are 1/2 or more. Therefore not allowing you to put say £90 on VK beating Welliver or something like that.
Hope that makes sense.

Digzee there are loads of offers for new accounts with bookies. The above doesnt seem the best if Im honest. Guess it all depends on your stakes and what if any accounts you already have and the primary purpose of the account ie what you will be betting on most. Theres loads of factors really to get the best value for money.
Post on here or PM me mate if you want to go further in depth.

Thanks for the help lads

.. I wish I could take advantage of other free bets but when I was younger I signed up everywhere and probably wasted them, although I do have a free bet on C Smith winning a world title before 2017.

Had to have a go on Alexander. There is no way Khan should be a 2/5 favourite for this. Over 2/1 on Alexander is great value.
I do think it will be fairly close so if it's close on the scorecards and Alexander loses, I'll admit to being biased now!

Bermane Stiverne opens at 11/8 to beat Wilder with PaddyPower. Same as BJS-Eubank, I have to go with the proven fighter as those sort of odds. Could be proved wrong if Wilder lands early.

Odds out for Eubank - Chudinov. Bets odds: 1.36 vs 3.5 (decimal is the only, easiest to understand for betting)
I thought it would be evens. What's the score on Chudinov?
