Not really a classic perse but after last nights Sebastian Fundora vs. Carlos Ocampo, I watched Errol Spence vs Carlos Ocampo today...I love Spence but he landed a ton of low blows before the finisher.
Also decided to re-watch Qawi-Saad Muhammad 2 today, And Tyson-Holmes yesterday..that was when fighters fought!!

Wilfredo Gomez vs. Juan Antonio Lopez 1
A bad beatdown by Gomez but Lopez proved his mettle and he had heart, taking all the punches and never giving up.
Jack Johnson vs James Jeffries
What is available on you tube shows a fight similar to Gomez-Lopez I, except it lasted to the 15th. Jeffries had heart too.

Vito Antuofermo vs Bennie Briscoe
Good one.
Not the best fight but competitive, all 3 judges had it wide for Antuofermo after 10 rounds, think it was Cossell in comms who had Briscoe winning, could've went either way, maybe Antuofermo nicked it

As you can see by the score this was back and forth and I had it a lot closer than the official scores. On mine everything hinged on the final round, which Vito pulled out on the tiring Briscoe. Right at the end I could hear the ringside announcer mention he had Briscoe taking it. I think his score and my score properly reflect how close this fight was as opposed to the official scores, which I believe to be 7-3, 7-2-1 and 6-3-1 all for Vito. I like Vito but this was close.

Oliver McCall vs Oleg Maskaev
Bit of a hard ask for Maskayev that one......he's a bit thrown to the lions as a 6-0 professional

Yeh bit of a gamble gone wrong that, the KO wasn't too dissimilar to Wilder's KO over Helenius, as in there wasn't full leverage into the shot but Maskaev went down hard and although he got up and some refs might've waved it on, the ref had a good look before waving it off and there were no complaints from Maskaev

Oliver McCall vs Henry Akinwande
I have kind of forgotten all about Henry A who had a few good moments and some decent wins.
He's probably best remembered for a pair of stinking 1997 fights with Welch and Lennox.

He was doing well Akinwande, he had quite a similar style to Tyson Fury, quite tall and gangly but a good mover for a big guy and put his punches together well but he faded and McCall knocked him out in the last round with a huge right, Akinwande was slept, surprised I've never seen the KO before

Geez that fight had the worst of both fighters. A real head scratcher with the 'foul pole' giving up first sign of adversity after practically dominating the vulnerable Grant.
