Great shot. Even the referee looks bemused.

Robinson threw the best left hook ever against Fullmer and the best right hand ever against poor Rocky.

Graziano was completely out of shape.

After Robinson went down on one knee from a Graziano right hand,

Graziano tried to chase him and was clearly winded in that THIRD round.

When Robinson saw this, he got aggressive and ended the fight against his out of shape opponent in that same round.

Tiger worked in the same Liverpool factory as my father as did Hogan "Kid" Bassey.
Did your dad know him well (and Hogan)? If so, tell us more. I've always had a soft spot for Tiger, given his British connection and his premature death in 1970 from cancer - just two years after the Foster knockout. A terrible early death.
I will ask my dad how well he remembers them and get back to you Bennie. My dad is not a boxing fan so he may not remember. I know in the past he has said Tiger was said to be a "quiet guy". Both boxers enjoyed a kind of "celebrity" status within the factory, which was called English Electric by the way. Tiger worked in the paint shop, not sure all those fumes would have been good for him. I worked at the factory for a few years myself in the 1980's and one of the security guards who loved his boxing remembered Bassey as "quite a cheerful chap". I will ask my dad if he remembers them though.

Bennie, did Joey Lopes fight Dave Charnley over in merry auld? Charnley was taking on some really good American and International competition at the time. I wish I could have seen Charnley fight. It sounded like he had a real crowd pleasing style.

I'm not Bennie, but the answer is yes, on June 3, 1958 in London, and Dave copped a 10-round decision.

This coming tuesday, lightweight greats Rodolfo "El Gato" Gonzalez and Mando Ramos will join me at the CBS Studio Center on the set of a new TV series that I'm working on.

Actor Benjamin Bratt and executive producer Warren Boyd, wish to speak with the two former lightweight champs about creating a boxing oriented episode for their new A&E series, "Cleaner".

It took me several days to contact Mando, who was on vacation with wife Sylvia last week. Ironically, the idea came up during a conversation I was having with cinematographer Denny Hall. Hall mentiond that when he was a kid growing up in San PEdro, he delivered the Herald-Eaminer newspaper to Ramos home on the hill. He told of how great it was when Ramos would see the kids in his neighborhood. "He was great to us, he'dbuy us candy and soda. Real cool", Hall commented.

This is how things get started in the film business. Who knows what might come of it?

If you don't mind me sharing my impressions of ChuCho Castillo, I had two, one was under my right eye and the other on my nose. He worked hard in the gym!
