BOTH FIGHTERS CAME INTO THIS ONE HAVING RECORDED GOOD WINS LAST TIME OUT WITH MPG BEATING JONESIO AND MILLARVIE BEATING DAPPA , THE WINNER OF THIS WILL EARN THE RIGHT TO CHALLENGE SEXTON FOR HIS BRITISH HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE , THE 1ST ROUND SAW MILLARVIE START WELL AS MPG LOOKED NERVOUS IN FRONT OF THE HUGE JAPANESE CROWD AND SKY CAMERAS , MILLARVIE THREW PUNCH AFTER PUNCH BUT NOTHING SEEMED TO CARRY TOO MUCH POWER AND MANY MISSED THE TARGET AS MPG RETREATED AROUND THE RING , AS THE ROUND WENT ON MPG GAINED CONFIDENCE AND STARTED TO DANCE AWAY FROM MILLARVIES JABS BUT STILL WASNT THROWING ANYTHING HIMSELF . IN RD 2 THOUGH IT ACTUALLY LOOKED LIKE A BOXING MATCH RATHER THAN A BALLET AS BOTH MADE A MOVE ON THE RING CENTER , BUT IT WAS MPG THAT ESTABLISHED A FOOTHOLD AND MANAGED TO KNOCK MILLARVIE DOWN , BUT THE SCOTSMAN GOT UP AND CONTINUED , NO PROB . WHEN THE BELL FOR ROUND 3 RANG THOUGH IT SEEMED TO TRIGGER SOMETHING IN MPG'S HEAD , HE STEAMED IN AND BEFORE MILLARVIE KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING HE WAS ON THE CANVASS AND BEING COUNTED OUT , HE COULDNT REGAIN HIS FEET AND MPG GOT THE KO WIN WHICH WILL NOW MEAN HE FIGHTS SEXTON NEXT .

TOMMY'S HANDS WERE LIKE GUNNS HERE AS HE ICED INGLEBY'S CHANCES IN ROUND 5 , NEVER ONE FOR THE PURIST THIS WAS A SCRAPPY BOUT THAT LOOKED AT TIMES ALMOST AMATEURISH BUT AS FAR AS GUNN IS CONCERENED A KO WIN IS AS GOOD AS ANY WIN HE COULD HAVE HOPED FOR SO THERE WILL BE NO COMPLAINTS FROM HIM.

THERE WAS A HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE HERE TO NULLIFY THE NOTORIOUS DI BAGGIO CREW GATHERING AT THE STADIUM , THE ORGANISERS WANTED NO TROUBLE AND WAS SWIFT TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST ONE SMALL INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED IN THE BAR AREA INVOLVING A DI BAGGIO FAN DURING THE MCINTYRE VS DALLAS BOUT , THE BOUT ITSELF WAS A BRUISING AFFAIR TOO , BOTH LOOKING VERY SHARP IN ROUND ONE WITH NEITHER GIVING TOO MUCH AWAY , IN ROUND 2 THOUGH THE WELL TIMED JABS QUICKLY CHANGED INTO HEAD HUNTING AS THE BAD BLOOD SURFACED , DI BAGGIO LAUNCHED A HUGE FLURY BUT AN EXCELLENT PATERSON COUNTER SAW AN UPPERCUT DROP DI BAGGIO FOR 7 , IN RETURN THOUGH PATERSONS CONFIDENCE MADE HIM STEAM IN AND DI BAGGIO RETURNED THE FAVOUR DROPPING PATERSON , ALSO WITH AN UPPERCUT , SO ROUND 2 ENDED WITH BOTH GUYS HAVING VISITED THE CANVASS , THE 3RD ROUND SAW DI BAGGIO VISIT THE FLOOR AGAIN THOUGH , DESPITE HIM CLAIMING IT WAS A SLIP , REPLAYS SHOWED CLEAR CONTACT FROM A LEFT HOOK THROWN BY PATERSON , REALISING THE SITUATION THOUGH PATERSON KNEW THAT DI BAGGIO WOULD BE FORCED TO COME AT HIM IN ROUND 4 AS THE BOUT APPEARED TO SLIP AWAY , SO TOOK THE DEFENSIVE STRATEGY , ONE THAT ALMOST BACKFIRED ON A FEW OCCASIONS , BUT IN THE END BOTH MEN LASTED TO HEAR THE BELL AT THE END OF ROUND 6 . THE JUDGES ANNOUNCED THAT THEY HAD DECIDED UPON A UNANIMOUS DECISION ALL SCORING THE BOUT 57-56 , IN FAVOUR OF ALEX PATERSON . THE BOOS RANG OUT BUT NO TROUBLE FLARED UP , AND THERE COULDNT BE TOO MANY ARGUMENTS , MAYBE ON ANOTHER DAY DI BAGGIO COULD HAVE GOT A DRAW , BUT HE KNEW THAT HIS KNOCKDOWNS HAD COST HIM AND THAT NEXT TIME HIS DEFENSE NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED .

THE FANS DIDNT KNOW WHICH RABACA WOULD BE TURNNG UP TODAY AND LIKEWISE COULD BE THOUGHT ABOUT HIS OPPONENT ZAHID KOHUT , KOHUT HAS KNOCKED OUT DAVID HAYE PREVIUOSLY BUT HAS SLIPPED UP SEVERAL TIMES AGAINST LOWLY FIGHTERS WITH LESS PEDIGREE , THIS WASNT ONE OF THOSE DAYS THOUGH AS KOHUT TURNED ON THE STYLE , DROPPING RABACA 3 TIMES IN ROUNDS 1,3 AND 5 BEFORE THE REF DECIDED HE HAD SEEN ENOUGH , BUT IN CREDIT TO RABACA HE KEPT COMING AND AT NO STAGE DID HE LOOK SEVERLY HURT OR TIRED , HE JUST COULDNT COMPETE WITH THE SPEED OF HIS OPPONENT , ONE WHO HAD PROMISED SO MUCH MORE AT TIMES BUT NEVER LIVED UPTO IT , RABACA THOUGH MAY NOW STRUGGLE TO BE ANY MORE THAT A GOOD TEST FOR UP AND COMERS .

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FAR MORE SIMPLE FIGHT THAN EUBANKS JNR MADE IT BUT MAYBE IT WAS THE NERVES AS THIS WAS HIS BIGGEST FIGHT OF HIS CAREER SO FAR , THE YOUNGSTER DROPPED HIS OPPONENT IN THE 1ST ROUND THOUGH AND ALL LOOKED PLAIN AND SIMPLE BUT IN ROUND 3 EUBANKS HIMSELF WAS KNOCKED DOWN , SO WHEN THE BELL RANG TO END THIS 4 ROUNDER IT WAS A CROWD OF ANXIOUS FREINDS AND FAMILLY THAT SAW HIM GET THE MAJORITY DECISION WIN , HE THEN VERY SPORTINGLY RAISED THE ARM OF HIS OPPONENT RIO WALWAN , HE GAVE EUBANKS A FRIGHT .

AND LADIES AND GENTLEMAN WE ARE ONLY JUST STARTING , WEVE HAD SOME GOOD BOUTS SO FAR LETS HOPE THEIRS MORE TO COME AS WE VIEW THE VETERANS PRIZEFIGHTER INTERNATIONAL.
1. BOUT ONE SAW TROY WEIDA TAKE ON BRUCE SELDON , AND IN ALL FAIRNESS WEIDA WAS COMPETING AT A LEVEL FAR ABOVE HIMSELF HERE AS HE SUFFERED A ROUND 5 KO AT THE HANDS OF SELDON
2. NEXT UP SAW 2 GUYS COMING OUT OF RETIREMENT , ONE WAS THE RETURN OF LENNOX LEWIS , THE FORMER WORLD CHAMPION , AND HIS OPPENENT IS FORMER CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION ANDRE PURLETTE , LEWIS WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE FAVOURITE BUT HAS BEEN OUT OF THE RING A LOT LONGER THAN PURLETT WHO RETIRED IN 2006 . AND THAT SHOWED AS THE STAR ATTRACTION WAS KNOCKED DOWN TWICE IN ROUND 6 , LEWIS LOOKED A SPENT FORCE , HE HAD PREVIOULSY STATED HOW HE WAS GOING TO BE CHAMP AGAIN AND SHUT VITALI KLITSCHKO UP ONCE AND FOR ALL BUT HE NEVER LOOKED LIKE HE WAS CAPABLE OF THAT BUT THE LAST ROUND WAS ENOUGH TO UPSET THE ODDS AND SEE PURLETT THROUGH VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION
3. THE 3RD FIGHT SAW ITALIAN AMERICAN LOU SAVARESE FACE FORMER CONTENDER PRESTON HARTZOG , SAVARESE WAS DOWN IN ROUND ONE AS HARTZOG TOOK A COMFORTABLE POINTS WIN
4.TONY TUBBS JUST COULDNT COMPETE AGAINST OLIVER MCCALL AS THE FORMER CHAMP SHOWED HE WAS STILL HUNGRY IN A POINTS WIN.
5 . ANOTHER COMEBACK SAW GERMAN AXEL SHULZ RETURN TO TAKE ON LARRY DONALD AND IT WAS FULL OF CONTOVERSY , IN A CLOSE FIGHT THE REFEREE SCORED IT A DRAW SO THE RULES STATED THEY MUST FIGHT AGAIN , IMMEDIATELY , SO THEY DID AND TOWARDS THE END BOTH MEN LOOKED PHYSICALLY EXHAUSTED AND TO THINK THE WINNER WOULD STILL NEED TO FIGHT AGAIN , BUT AMAZINGLY THE REF SCORED IT A DRAW AGAIN , IT WAS ALMOST FARCICAL THAT THEY THEN HAD TO GO FOR A FURTHER 6 ROUNDS , IN THE END AN EXHAUSTED LARRY DONALD CAME OUT ON TOP BUT AFTER AN 18 ROUND FIGHT AT HIS AGE WHAT MORE COULD HE LEFT BY HIS NEXT FIGHT
6. TWO WARRIORS OF THE RING WERE THE STARS OF FIGHT 6 WITH RIDDICK BOWE TAKING ON EVANDER HOLYFIELD , THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD TO SEE AT ONE TIME BUT WHAT ABOUT NOW , IN ACTUAL FACT IT WAS THE BEST FIGHT OF THE COMPETITION SO FAR AND BOTH SHOWED THEY STILL HAD IT BUT THE VERDICT IN THE END WAS THAT HOLYFIELD HAD DONE ENOUGH TO PROGRESS , BOWE IMMEDIATELY GRABBED THE MIC BUT AS EVERYONE EXPECTED A RANT AND DISSAGREEMENT WITH THE DECISION , HE WENT ON TO CONGATULATE HIS OPPONENT BEFORE ANNOUNCING THAT THIS WAS HIS LAST FIGHT AND IS NOW OFFICIALLY RETIRED .
7. FIGHT 7 LOOKED A VERY INTERESTING PROPOSITION AS MIKE TYSON WHO WE ALL KNOW HAS HAD PROBLEMS FOUGH CANADIAN KIRK JOHNSON WHO STILL LOOKED IN TIP TOP FORM AND HAS ALREADY SAID HE WILL BE FIGHTING ON FOR A BIT REGARDLESS OF RESULT , A RESULT THOUGH THAT WAS NEVER IN DOUBT AS TYSON LOOKED GOOD FOR A CHANGE BUT I SUPPOSE THATS THE DIFFERENCE WITH SOMEONE WHO FIGHTS REGULARLY COMPARED TO SOMEONE MAKING A COMEBACK . TYSON WON BY A WIDE DECISION BUT JOHNSON STOOK TO HIS DECISION TO BOX ON .
8. THE FINAL BOUT OF THE SUPER 16 ROUND SAW FORMER CHAMPS RAY MERCER AND TOMMY MORRISON SQUARE OFF , BOTH ARE STILL ACTIVE FIGHTERS AND CARRIED A HUGE PUNCH BUT IT DIDNT LAST LONG AS MORRISON BLEW MERCER INTO RETIREMENT IN ROUND 2 .
QUATER FINALS
A. IN THE FIRST OF THE QUATER FINALS , MORRISON WAS HAVING TO COME IMMEDAITELY BACK TO THE RING SO IT WAS CONVENIANT FOR HIM TO HAVE STOPPED MERCER SO QUICK LAST TIME , THIS TIME HE WAS IN AGAINST SELDON , WHO HAD BEEN RESTED THE LONGEST , IT PROVED TO BE A GREAT EQUALIZING FACTOR AS MORRISION CLEARLY LOOKED THE BETTER FIGHTER BUT SLEDON WAS FRESHER , THE JUDGES THOUGH FAVOURED MORRISON AS HE MARCHED INTO THE SEMI FINALS
B. THE NEXT QUATERFINAL SAW LENNOX LEWIS CONQUERER PURLETTE FACE TYSON , POSSIBLY HIS 2 TOUGHEST FIGHTS OF HIS CAREER AT SUCH A LATE STAGE BUT HE THIS TIME COULDNT PRODUCE A SHOCK AS TYSON DOMINATED EVRY WOUND TO GET A CONVINCING POINTS WIN AND ENTRY INTO THE SEMI FINALS
C. THE 3RD QUATER TIE SAW PRESTON HARTZOG GO DOWN IN ROUND ONE WHICH LOOKED LIKE A STRAIGHT FORWARD KNOCKDOWN AGAINST EVANDER HOLYFIELD BUT AS THE COUNT REACHED TEN HE CLAIMED HED SLIPPED AND WAS CLUTCHING HIS ANKLE , THE REF LOOKED DISSINTERESTED BUT WHEN LOOKED DOWN HE SAW THAT HARTZOG HAD HIS ANKLE BONE PROTRUDING FROM HIS SKIN , NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO AND PANICKING THE REF THEN ORDERED IT A NO CONTEST AND SAID IT WAS A SLIP WHEN IT CLEARLY WANT DESPITE HATZOGS CLAIMS , THE NO CONTEST MEANT THE SUBSTITIUTE FIGHTER HAD TO COME IN INSTEAD , THE SUB WAS A FRESH TIM WITHERSPOON WHO HADNT HAD TO FIGHT BEFOREHAND , BUT HOLYFIELD IS FIT AND STILL ACTIVE , HAD IT BEEN SOMEONE ELSE THEY MAY HAVE STRUGGLED BECAUSE WITHERSPOON IS STILL BOXINGON THE UNLICENSED SCENE IN THE UK BUT HOLYFIELD WAS TOO GOOD AND EARNED A SOLID DECISION OVER TERRIBLE TIM TO GO THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS
D. THE FINAL QUATER FINAL BOUT SAW OLIVER MCCALL SLUMP TO A MISERABLE DEFEAT TO LARRY DONALD , DONALD HIMSELF WASNT GREAT FOLLOWING HIS PREVIOUS EXPLOITS IN 18 ROUNDS BUT STILL JUST ABOUT HAD ENOUGH TO SEE OFF MCCALL , DONALD THOUGH WAS NOW EXHAUSTED AND IN SERIOUS RISK TO HIS HEALTH AS HE WOULD HAVE TO FIGHT NEXT IN THE SEMIS
SEMI FINALS
1. AN EXHAUSTED LARRY DONALD COULD DO NOTHING BUT SURVIVE AGAINST TOMMY MORRISON AND MORRISON KNEW HE COULD WIN BY KO AT ANY GIVEN POINT BUT JUT JABBED HIS TO A POINTS WIN IN FEAR OF DOING DONALD SOME SEVERE DAMAGE , GREAT SPORTSMANSHIP FROM MORRISON , AND NO SHAME FROM DONALD WHO SIMPLY HAD NO MORE TO GIVE , MORRISON IS THROUGH TO THE FINAL.
2. THE OTHER FINAL SPOT WOULD BE DECIDED BY 2 OLD FOES , TYSON VS HOLYFIELD 4 , HOLYFIELD HAD WON THE 2 MANY YEARS AGO AND WON AGAIN JUST A FEW FIGHTS AGO BUT THIS TIME HIS LUCK RAN OUT AS TYSONS POWER KNOCKED HIM OVER IN ROUNDS 1 AND 2 AND TWICE IN ROUND 6 , TYSON WAS HIMSELF DOWN IN ROUND 4 BUT IT WAS ACADEMIC AS TYSON FINALLY GOT ONE OVER HOLYFIELD , A WIN THAT WILL FINALLY GET SOME DEMONS OFF HIS BACK .
THE FINAL
LADIES AND GENTLEMAN INTRODUCING TONIGHTS FINALSIST , WITH THE WINNER GOING ONTO A WORLD TITLE SHOT . FIRSTLY LETS BRING YOU IRON MIKE TYSON , AND HIS OPPONENT TONIGHT , TOMMY MORRISSON ,
AS SOON AS ROUND ONE GOT UNDERWAY YOU COULD SEE THAT MORRISON WAS LOOKING FAR FRESHER HAVING NOT HAD TO EXHERT HIMSELF IN HIS LAST FIGHT AGAINST LARRY DONALD , TYSON SENSED THIS AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED LOADING BOMBS AND HAD MORRISON ROCKING SEVERAL TIMES BUT TYSON NEEDED TO GET HIM OUT OF THERE EARLY IF HE WANTED TO WIN , MORRISON THOUGH MANAGED TO SURVIVE THE ROUND UNSCATHED , BUT IN R OUND 2 TYSON AGAIN LAUNCHED A TIRADE OF PUNCHES AND COMBINATIONS AND EVENTUALLY LANDED FLUSH AND MORRISSON WENT TUMBLING , UP HE GOT THOUGH AND TYSON SENSING THE KILL WENT IN AGAIN AND WITHIN ANOTHER MINUTTE MORRISON WAS AGIAN ON THE CANVASS AND DESPITE GETTING TO HIS FEET LOOKED UNSTEADY , TYSON MOVED IN TO FINISH HIM OFF BUT MORRISON LANDED A BIG BLOW OF HIS OWN AND TYSON WAS ROCKED BACK , MORRISON THROUGH A LEFT HOOK AND AN OVERHAND RIGHT AND DOWN WNT TYSON , AS THE COUNT REACHED 7 FANS STARTED JUMPING UP AS THEY REALISED TOMMY MORRISON WAS ON THE VERGE OF SOMETHING GREAT , TYSON GOT UP AND BUT THE FIRST PUNCG MORRISON THREW PUT TYSON DOWN AGAIN , HE AGIN GOT UP AND DID THE ONLY THING HE KNEW HOW AS HE RAN AT MORRISSON THROWING PUNCH AFTER PUNCH BUT MORRISON LANDED A HUGE LEFT UPPERCUT AND IT WAS ALLO OVER , TYSON HAD GONE DOWN FOR A 3RD TIME IN ROUND 2 WITH JUST 2 SECONDS OF THE ROUND TO GO , HAD WE JUST WITNESSED 2 LEGENDS OF THE RING COMPLETE THE MOST EXCITING ROUND IN BOXING HISTORY , WITH 5 KNOCKDOWNS , AND LOADS OF ACTION , MORRISION HAD DESERVED TO NOW BE GIVEN THE CHANCE TO ATTEMPT A WORLD TITLE , TYSON LOOKED DEJECTED , BUT HED ACHIEVED A VICTORY IN THE SMIS AGAINST HOLYFIELD , HE BEAT PURLETT WHO HAD CONQURED THE THREAT OF LENNOX LEWIS AND HE HAD BEATEN A SUPER CONDITONED KIRK JOHNSON , HE HAD DONE HIMSELF PROUD ENOUGH TO DECIDE HE WOULD FINALLY CALL IT A DAY , NO CALLING OUT MORRISON FOR A REMATCH , IT WAS OVER TIME TO LET MORRISON ENJOY THE LIMELIGHT , TYSON WASNT THE ONLY ONE TO ANNOUNCE THEIR FINAL RETIRMENT TONIGHT , HE WAS JOINED BY , HOLYFIELD , MCCALL, SELDON , MERCER , BOWE , LEWIS , TUBBS , SAVARESE , AND LARRY DONALD . NEVER AGAIN ARE WE LIKELY TO SEE SO MANY LEGENDS COMPETE ON ONE NIGHT , THANK YOU FOR A GREAT NIGHT , THANK YOU FOR YOUR BOXING CAREERS AND GOOD LUCJ TOMMY MORRISON WHEN YOU TAKE ON DAVID TUA FOR THE WBC TITLE SHOT .

ERIK WIDEMARK 2-13-1 - 275 IN WORLD please.
Di Baggio must be the worst counterpuncher in the business I knew I should have made him a knockout artist but hoped he would become the Money Mayweather of the heavyweights.

LEE SWABY 32-31-4(15) - 147 IN WORLD for Xavier carter
Carter seems to be developing a bit of power - obviously he gained good experience going in with the likes of Mormeck, Haye and Tyson so early in his career. Lets hope he doesn't do an Enzo here!
Tyson retires contented after having avenged defeats to Danny Williams and Evander Holyfield.

I APOLOGISE IN ADVANCE BUT MY COMPUTER IS GOING HAYWIRE AND WONT LET ME SCHEDULE THE FIGHTS IN THE NORMAL WAY MEANING IM HAVING TO DO THEM INDIVIDUALLY , THIS WILL NOT ONLY TAKE LONGER TO DO BUT ALSO MEANS I CANT GET THE FULL BOUT LOGS AS THATS ON A DIFFERENT PART OF THE PROGRAMME , SO UNFORTUNATELY YOULL JUST HAVE MY LITTLE PEICE THAT I WRITE ABOUT EACH FIGHT , BUT HEY AT LEAST I CAN STILL ACTUALLY DO THEM . WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT IM OFF TO DO NOW

BOUT RESULTS
1. ALEX PATERSON VS KIERON OGLE
OGLE WAS A SURPRISE HERE TONIGHT AS HE CAME OUT ALL GUNS BLAZING PUTTING PATERSON ON CANVAS IN ROUNDS 1 AND 3 BEFORE KNOCKING PATERSON OUT COLD IN RD 5
2. MPG VS SAM SEXTON
SEXTONS BRITISH TITLE WAS AGAIN ON THE LINE TONIGHT IN THIS BATTLE BETWEEN TWO VERY GOOD FIGHTERS BUT SPECTATORS WHO HAD EXPECTED A CLOSE FIGHT LEFT DISSAPOINTED AS THE FIGHT WAS DOMINATED BY JUST ONE MAN FOLLOWING A FIRST RD KNOCKDOWN , THE REF EVENTUALLY STEPPED IN TO STOP THE HAMMERING IN ROUND 4 TO DECLARE ..........THE NEW BRITISH HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION , MPG
3. JAI RABACA VS GYORGY HIDVEGI
RABACA TOOK THIS FIGHT AT SHORT NOTICE WHEN CRUISERWEIGHT CONTENDER HIDVEGI HAD HIS OPPONENT PULL OUT INJURED , THE HUNGARIAN WANTED A TOUGH FIGHT BUT ONE THAT WAS EXPECTED TO BE WINNABLE , RABACA GOT THE CALL AND BOU DID HE PUNISH HIM FOR IT , HIDVEGI WAS MADE TO HIT THE CANVAS IN ROUNDS 5 AND 8 BEFORE A SECOND VISIT TO THE CANVAS IN ROUND 8 SAW HIM SPARKED OUT , WAS SEEN BY BOTH LADS AS ARISKY FIGHT BUT RABACA IS THE MAN THAT WILL REAP THE BENEFIT OF A SMASHING WIN
4. GARY MCINTYRE VS CHRIS BURTON
TWO CONTENDERS ON THE DOMESTIC SCENE SQUARED OFF HEREBUT AGAIN TONIGHT IT WAS A MISSMATCH WHEN IT CAME TO IT IN THE RING , BURTON WAS DOWN IN ROUNDS 1 AND 5 BEFORE THE REF CALLED IT OFF LATER IN THE 5TH , MCINTYRE LOOKED SOLID BEHIND HIS JAB AND ON THIS SORT OF FORM MAY GET ANOTHER CRACK AT THE BELTS SOON
5 . XAVIER CARTER VS LEE SWABY
ANOTHER ONE BILLED AS CLOSE BOUT SAW SWABY DOWN IN THE 4TH AND CARTER CONTINUED TO DOMINATE FROM THEN ON TO WIN BY A WIDE UNANIMOUS DECISION
6. ANTONIO DI BAGGIO VS ERIK WIDEMARK
THIS WAS ONE THAT WAS SEEN AS A COMFORTABLE CHANCE TO EARN A WIN FOR DI BAGGIO TO IMPROVE HIS NOT SO GOOD RECORD BUT DESPITE IT BEING A CLOSE FIGHT THE LOSS THAT DI BAGGIO PICKED UP HERE WILL BE SEEN AS DISASTROUS , DI BAGGIO LOOKS LIKE LIFE AS A JOURNEMAN BECKONS , AT LEAST HE CAN TAKE SATISFACTION THAT HIS ARCH RIVAL ALEX PATERSON LOOKS LIKE HES HEADING IN THE SAME DIRECTION TOO .
BILLY JONES VS HERBIE HIDE
BILLY JONES WAS MAKING HIS FIRST DEFENSE OF HIS BRITISH CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE AGAINST EXPERIENCED VETERAN HERBIE HIDE , HIDE STARTED WELL BUT IN ROUND 3 JONES HIT A HIDE WITH A BLOW TO THE TEMPLE THAT SAW HIM GO DOWN FOR A 6 COUNT , IT WAS FAIRLY EVEN FROM THEN UNTIL THE 5TH WHEN HIDE SUFFERED A BAD CUT ON HIS FOREHEAD , JONES THEN CONTINUED TO WORK ON THE CUT , AND EVENTUALLY HIDES CORNER THREW IN THE TOWELL IN ROUND 8 WHEN THE CUT WAS GUSHING EVERYWHERE , HIDE WAS FUMING AND SAID HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TILL THE END OF THE ROUND BUT IN ALL FAIRNESS THE RINGSIDE DOC WAS ABOUT TO END IT ANYWAY . . ... JONES IS STILL THE CHAMP
TOMMY GUNN VS ARRON HAYLOCK
THE FIRST THING IN THE FIGHT OF ANY NOTE WAS AN UPPERCUT THAT LANDED SQUARE ON THE CHIN OF HAYLOCK ON THE BELL AS ROUND 1 ENDED , THE BELL 2 START ROUND 2 THOUGH NEVER CAME AS HAYLOCK WAS JUST UNABLE TO RECOVER , HE WAS RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER AND WILL UNDERGO BRAIN SCANS IN THE MORNING .
JAMES DE GALE VS DENTON VASSELL
DE GALE TOOK A REAL RISK IN HIS MATCHMAKING HERE , HE ACCEPTED A CHALLENGE FROM ANOTHER FELLOW TOUTED BRITISH PROSPECT RATHER THAN A BRITISH TITLE ELIMINATOR THAT WAS ON PAPER AN EASIER FIGHT , SOME CONSIDERED IT AN ODD DECISION BUT IN THE FIRST ROUND THE WAY DE GALE DOMINATED IT PEOPLE THOUGHT MAYBE DE GALE KNEW SOMETHING THEY DIDNT , UNFORTUANELY IT WAS THE OTHER WAY ROUND , DE GALE DIDNT SEE WHAT EVERYONE ELSE DID , A CRUSHING LEFT HOOK THAT SAW THE OLYMPIAN DOWN AND OUT IN THE 2ND ROUND , PEOPLE ARE ALREADY COMPARING DE GALE TO FRAUDLEY AND ITS TIME HE PROVED PEOPLE WRONG AS HE CERTAINLY HAS THE TALENT
JOYI VS IN-JIN CHI
THIS WAS A SUPER BOUT - NO DOUBT ABOUT IT , TWO FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS - MULTI WEIGHT CHAMPIONS , AND THE BOUT WAS RIDICULOUSLY CLOSE ITSELF WITH BOTH USING THREIR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO THE MAXIMUM , IT WAS GOING TO TAKE A MOMENT OF BRILLIANCE TO WIN THIS , THAT MOMENT CAME IN ROUND 7 WHEN , A FLURRY OF PUNCHES WENT UNANSWERED , A TOTAL OF 30 UNANSWERED PUNCHES IN A 40 SECOND PERIOD WAS ENOUGH TO CONVINCE THE REF IT HAD TO BE STOPPED , THE WINNER AND NOW CHAMPION WITH THE WBC , IBO AND RING MAGAZINE IS .......... JOYI
ROBERTO JONESIO VS SCOTT GAMMER
THIS WAS A CLOSE TACTICAL BOUT THAT DESPITE NEVER BEING EXCITING WOULD HAVE BEEN ONE THAT REAL BOXING FANS WOULD HAVE BEEN INTRIGUED BY AS BOTH FIGHTERS TOYED WITH EACH OTHER WAITING FOR SLIP UPS , THERE WAS NO KNOCKDOWS AND NOTHING TO SEPERATE THEM , SOMETHING THAT ALL 3 JUDGES AGREED ON TOO AS THEY ANNOUNCED A 95-95 DRAW , THIS MAY BE ENOUGH TO KEEP JONESIO AS MANDATORY BUT WILL AT VERY LEAST MEAN HE HAS AN ELIMATOR .
MARTIN MURRAY VS BRIAN VERA
MURRAYS CAREER NOW APPEARS TO BE HEADING INTO CRISIS , AS HE PICKS UP ANOTHER LOSS THIS TIME BY WAY OF KNOCKOUT IN ROUND 3 AGAINST AMERICAN BRIAN VERA , MURRAY NEEDS SOME WINS DESPERTALY TO PREVENT HIM HEADING INTO FREEFALL DOWN THE RANKINGS .
DONALD DAPPA VS TOM DALLAS
DALLAS RECORDS ANOTHER GOOD WIN AGAINST TOUGH OPPOSITION, DAPPA IS NO WIMP AND SHOWED THAT HEAR TODAY BUT DALLAS HAS IMPROVED HUGELY IN HIS LAST FEW BOUTS AND MOVING TOWARDS TITLE CONTENTION DOMESTICALLY , DAPPA HAS SLIPPED A LITTLE NOW BUT IS YOUNG AND DEFINATELY CAPABLE OF PROPELLING HIMSELF BACK UP .
CHRIS EUBANKS JNR VS JACK MARTIN
EUBANKS GOT AWAY WITH A LACLUSTRE PERFORMANCE AGAIN FOR 2ND FIGHT IN A ROW BUT THIS TIME HE WAS VERY LUCKY TO HAVE GOT AWAY WITH A DRAW , JACK MARTIN DOMINATED AT LEAST 3 ROUNDS AND IN MANY PEOPLES OPINION WON 2 MARGINALLY WITH EUBANKS JNR JUST WINNING ONE SO TO HEAR ALL 3 JUDGES ANNOUNCE 57-57 WOULD HAVE BEEN A RELIEF , HE WILL HOPEFULLY SEE THIS AS A WAKE UP CALL AND STEP UP A LEVEL NEXT TIME.
I WILL DO BOUT OFFERS AND LATEST RANKINGS IN MORNING AS THE MRS IN WANTING THE COMPUTER
