It was pretty much as expected. Brook was brave as a lion and had success early but the longer it went on the more he was always gonna get busted up.

Probably

Are you a bit salty because you lost your bet? Brook was getting his ass kicked, wasn't throwing back anymore, and may well not have made it to the 7th anyway.

Nelson: "his eye socket went"
Brook: "I bust my eye socket".

Just think how the fight could have went if Brook hadn't accidentally damaged his eye socket.... :brick:

Clever for Ingle to pull Brook out on his feet rather than get stretchered out like Kahn was against Canelo. All eyes on Brook cash out (not condemning route, I wish Brook best) part 2 which is Brook vs Kahn.

The injury had nothing to do with Brook's weight. Golovkin is a slow starter, WTF are the commentators talking about?

Your use of the term "hit at will" is a little off. He hurt Golovkin a few times, and if he were able to hit him at will he would've dropped him.
When did he hurt GGG? He landed, but I didn't see GGG in any trouble.
I thought GGG looked a bit buzzed from that uppercut in the 2nd

Am I salty? No, it's just a fact. You wouldn't see Golovkin moving up to 175 to fight Ward like Brook moved up to 160 to fight GGG.

So what? Golovkin is a middleweight.

Brook should have stayed at welterweight.

Yeah...could tell something was wrong just by looking at it and then Kell's reaction to it.

I'm a fan of both but always marginally edged Brook
I now think brook would convincingly beat Khan

Yes....Brook immediately started pawing at the eye in a manner that suggested it had been injured.

Because GGG is a Middleweight and that's his best fighting weight. Why should he move up in weight?

Knobber.
Yes! Risk vs reward.
Losing to Spence would certainly have done more harm than tonight's result.

I personally don't anticipate a world beater for Brook's light-middle debut.

Well brook didn't need to either but he did. Also Golovkin is supposed to be this monster who beat up Kovalev in sparring- surely he's good enough to do it?

Most of the folks near me winced when it landed. I thought it was just a cheekbone. My old man immediately said "serious".

Paulie makes a good point there - 154lbs has the most talent and the smallest purses.
Better to lose to GGG and be a hero than the (to casuals) 'unknowns' like Landy, Boo-Boo Andrade etc.

It's got to be cash out vs Khan - @ catch weight ?

I noticed Kell's eye looking iffy at the start of the round, and I noticed him pawing at it shortly before the stoppage.

I told Mrs Hangover it was the eye socket, like Dempsey against Willard. She agreed. I love that my woman knows more about Jack Dempsey than most boxing fans.

Brook too small. Not unexpected! Golovkin started slowly as usual, but once he was settled Brook was on the way out, no doubt. Eye socket or not.

Brook move down to 154, he'll be a great addition there. Golovkin? Stay over here and bash up Saunders and Eubank Jnr. Easy, easy, easy money for him.

I bet Eubank is just waiting for GGG to move up and vacate. Saunders has probably gone missing. I hope Canelo grows some testes, he can whack.
