Povetkin did really well considering hes age. There is no beating the father time.

Nice stoppage for Joshua and great name to add on to hes list of defeated foes :TU:

He did it two rounds faster than I was expecting :box:
Povetkin did well considering his age, and the size he gave up. If he was just a few years younger, we might have a new champion.

Joshua was bailed out by Povetkin fading early due to age and his power.

If there is such a think, Povetkin stock up in a loss, Joshua stock down in a victory.

I know what you mean but for me it was just a bit different...

I already knew that Povetkin is good. Only thing I got from this fight about him is that he has not aged too much yet. He was really good in the early rounds but he faded faster in the fight than what he used to. Povetkin has always had bit of stamina issue. maybe it is the active style that tends to tire him out.

Joshua's stock went up for me. He got very good win. This fight also was further proof that he has pretty good chin. He was eating lot of punches from guy that can bang. Joshua was calm under fire and did what he needed to do. Hes stamina also looked good.

Maybe it is just that the fight wen't pretty much like I expected :maybe:

I agree with that. Joshua has just conclusively beaten a quality fighter rated top six in any meritocratic based rankings. Granted Povetkin has slipped a little as to be expected at his age, but he is still a formidable opponent for almost any heavyweight.

It's another fine name on Joshua's resume after a mere 22 fights. It seems ridiculous to me that a champion's stock can be said to have fallen after knocking out one of his best competitors, especially if those whose stock gets a 'relative boost' haven't been in action for a while.
