Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
Fury British level at best.
Unfit , slow and second best bar 1 or 2 rounds
Whyte would eat him alive .

I recorded this and went out instead.
Shall I waste my time watching? Presume there was no shades of Ali tonight?

So Hughie Fury vs AJ lads.
I reckon Hughie boxes his head off and stops him late!

Good performance from Pulev. He could actually cause AJ some problems based on that performance. Fought a smart fight and looks fresh for his age. Fury was slow and ponderous from the off. The cut obviously didn't help and maybe that's why his timing looked off. Loads of slow overhand shots and not enough jabs, lead left hooks, straight rights.
Maybe Fury just isn't as good as what some people thought? Still very young and can come again but it's back to domestic level now I think....

Did Fury forget to take his shorts and have to get some off the peg last minute?
Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
I have it to Pulev by a full 6 rounds. Hughie ran out of ideas some rounds ago.

When 3 boxers avoided Pulev. Hughie stepped up.
He should try Euro level IMO.

Not good enough from Fury, very poor. No jab at all.
Worked over by a shopworn & slow opponent. He isn't good enough at this level, and his old man has to take some blame. On the plus he's 24, and has plenty of time on his side, but he don't appear to want ti enough to me.

Hughie was disappointing to be honest. Richie Woodhall couldn’t even make a case for him winning!
Sure he moves fairly well but he doesn’t really use it and his technique was lacking, especially with the right hand.
Pulev is a spoiler too. Joshua will walk through him within 5 rounds.

Oh dear. The president of the 'who needs him' club isn't needed by anybody.
Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
Hughie's still British champion so has a route back into contention.
24 years of age. Potentially years left in the game.

Fair enough, the third judge must have seen some quality in Hughie's work that I didn't see to have only 2 rounds in it, but it's the right winner.

Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
Breakdown of Fight
They felt each other out in the first round. There were many jabs being thrown, with Fury using a good jab to create distance between them.
During the second round, a bad cut opened up above the left eyelid of Fury - which Pulev created with a stiff jab. In the third, Fury came charging out and being aggressive with Pulev, who was doing his best to tie him up.
Pulev was the fighter who came out firing his power shots at the start of the fourth. There was a lot of holding as both were looking to gain an advantage with punches up close. In the fifth, Fury was trying to lure Pulev into the corner but he was unable to time him for big shots, with the Bulgarian boxer getting off with shots.
Pulev was throwing and landing a better jab, pushing forward in the sixth round. Pulev continued to push the pace in the seventh and landed a big left hand that Fury took.
During the eight, Pulev was wobbled by a big right hand. He managed to get himself out of trouble by grabbing and holding. Pulev took back control in the ninth, pushing forward and landing the better punches. And the same tempo continued in the tenth, as Pulev was really coming forward and letting his hands go on Fury.
Fury was very tired in the eleventh and mostly stayed on the ropes as Pulev came forward with more punches. Fury couldn't do much in the twelfth. Pulev was the fresher fighter and landing the better punches.

I’m not saying there weren’t chemicals involved but Pulev is never knackered late. Unless he is losing to Klitschko obviously.
Also good to see Chisora mixing gangster and chess enthusiast with his choice of attire.
Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
Pulev deservedly won, Hughie at 24 can come again, the result keeps him in the mix and he will have learned loads.
