It good to disagree, it encourages healthy debate, it was reasonable for you to contest opinions over Dick Tiger, but just let it go.

Coming soon...JamesPhillips puts Miles Templeton on the grassy knoll, with Shergar tethered nearby.

Rumours are swirling it was actually Miles who threw the phantom punch against Ali. Maybe this will be covered in a future column.

Personally I hold him responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs given we have reasonable proof he did nothing about it.

I’m still seething over a spelling mistake in one of the BN articles that he didn’t write, I’m not sure how he sleeps at night.

If you look at the thread history you will see I actually agree with one of Miles’s posts, I just disagree that Tiger was a reasonable match up. Moron? Lol I would suggest you’re the thin skinned one judging by your recourse to insults.

All my comments regarding Ayala, Liam Cameron and the conflict of being an independent journalist whilst being a director of the BBBofC are legitimate.

What’s the Liam Cameron ban got to do with Miles? The ban was before Miles was a director at the board and was also from UKAD, not the board.

Why? Because you say so?

See my previous post. I don’t know enough about these incidents, so genuinely curious if there is any direct evidence of Miles being involved?

If not, it’s like saying Keir Starmer is at fault for Jimmy Saville, even though he had no knowledge of his activities.

Well if that was too complicated for you. How about ‘Dickhead’ instead.

It’s clear you took umbrage against Miles. Same as you did with Loynsey. You’re very thin skinned James.

Thanks for all the support lads. I appreciate it. There is no conflict of interest between my Board activities and my research. If there had been then I would never have got involved with the Board which, incidentally, is an organisation that I think we can be proud of. I have not ever, and never will, discuss sensitive matters pertaining to the livelihood and wellbeing of professional boxers, past or present, with anybody. The fact that I have been asked to do so on a public forum is ridiculous. Anyone who understands the politics of administering any sport in these times would readily understand that. As a journalist, all of my articles cover the period 1870 to 1979 and no later. This is my area of interest, and expertise. For more recent fighters there is a wealth of material available from contemporary sources, especially Facebook.

For what it’s worth, I was recently inducted into the British ex-Boxers hall of fame, primarily for my services as a historian. Not something I would normally mention but, under the present circumstances, perhaps worth bringing up.

James. I am quite regularly in Marlow visiting a good friend of mine, an ex-fighter and a good historian of the sport, Derek O’Dell. Next time I am down I am happy to meet you face to face, over a pint, to sort this shit out. I am sure that you are a reasonable chap despite this current gripe, and we both love boxing, so at least have that in common. You will then realise two things about me. I am far from being a self-appointed fraud historian, and I am also not the sort of person to take such a piss poor insult lying down. I do my talking face to face, not keyboard to keyboard. I mean you no malice but you need your eyes opening a little as regards my knowledge and intentions as a historian, and also what it means to be an unpaid official of a far from perfect institution, but one that always has the best intentions of boxers, and boxing, in mind.

Whaddya say?

I’ve heard that Miles was London’s own Banksie with the “George Davis is innocent” tags all over the smoke. You gotta be a certain age to know.

BN has a highly pro fightfax / anti Boxrec article in its recent edition.

Just looked at fightfax. It ranks a 49yr old Sergio Martinez as number 1 middle weight

And Liam Smith is number 5

In this week: In the first of a new series, IBHOF inductee and former Boxing News and Boxing Monthly Editor Graham Houston recalls his ringside experiences from the big fight nights in Vegas.

First one is DLH v JCC, absolute belter.

The Fightfax days used to be incredible. Stood by the fax machine waiting for the record of some obscure Eastern European or African fighter to come through. Even then you couldn’t be sure of its complete accuracy.

Matchmakers really had a different task back then!

Absolutely over the moon with this week's issue. Great amateur coverage led by the kid I'm by far the closest to out of all the ams I know, Hamilton Joyce. Brilliant kid, brilliant attitude and deserves everything that comes his way.

Ex pro Danny Thornton runs it, it was his nickname for some reason.
