That was all kinda weird. It seemed like Yarde dropped to the floor and that could've been the time for Tunde to pull him out, but he didn't... But then Benavidez hit him when he was down and Yarde protested. Did Yarde actually get a count for the KD there, or did the ref just go straight to taking the point?

Yarde took a sustained shellacking in there.

He's got some cajones on him but he should have been pulled out a round before. He was done

The first time I saw Yarde was the undercard of Liam Smiff v Canelo.

He clipped a bloke with a hook in the 1st round & it was all over.

I thought I was watching Nigel Benn II. The Ilford connection hooked me too.

To be honest, I've been underwhelmed. It's like watching a Warren fighter from the 90s. Fight nobodies & get a title shot.

I'm glad he's made money for himself & Tunde & is getting out with his marbles intact but I just feel there could have been so much more.

I think his corner was telling him to hold before it was stopped

Never been that sold on Yarde to be honest.
Good physique and has a dig on him but that's all

Yarde should retire, he'll be 35 next year and must have made good money. Get out and do something else

Didn't look like he had any dig on him last night.

Pitter patter arm punches, until he landed the 1 the woke Benni up.

He wasn’t really pressing forward and engaging, seemed more content to keep Benavidez at bay and survive.

I only watched the highlights so didn't catch the entire fight but Benavidez looked impressive and it suggested that Yarde had absolutely nothing for him. Bivol/Beterbiev Vs Benavidez is a must.

Yarde Vs Buatsi would still sell, albeit not the way it would have before.

That referee always does a good job. Very underrated ref, knows whats going on and not afraid to stop a fight in that manner and usually gets it right. I thought Yarde was far too concerned with pacing himself. Getting walked down and just throwing arm punches in return. I think it comes down to the training. He's far too muscular. He looks like a bodybuilder compared to other fighters. He needed to be trained to be able to do the 12 rounds and be confident in his stamina but that confidence just wasn't there. He looked scared in there to me. It was reminding me of Audley Harrison with that wide eyed stare at the opponent and looking petrified at times.

You have to take something out of Benavidez early in my opinion. Otherwise he is just going to keep building and building. Get on him early while he's still revving up. Once you get to the second half of a fight, he is starting to move into top gear and once you get to the 9th round and beyond he is firing on all cylinders. As it stands, Yarde threw arm punches and got tired quickly because Benavidez was controlling the pace of the fight. It looks like Yarde is struggling when his opponents get him to work at their pace rather than the leisurely pace he enjoys when he beats up bums. We will now see a few "comeback fights" where he does nothing in the fights until he lands a few punches and KO's the opponent when he decides to. Perhaps a fight with Callum Smith, Buatsi or Hutchinson then. He won't have to worry too much about a fast pace in those fights.

Benavidez vs Ramirez. Benevidez said it in the post-fight interview, very quietly and with little fanfare, almost so quietly not everybody seems to have picked up on it. He's fighting Zurdo Ramirez, at cruiserweight, on May 2, 2026 in Vegas.

Yarde has had an odd career, the only win on his record that I recognise is Lyndon Arthur and he lost to him as well. He's done well to get 3 world title shots
