Lets be honest I'm sure nobody expected a 150+ from this pair. Lets hope they can crack on for a bit longer. Might see Flintoff chuck his bat about once he gets his ton, we're in good shape after all.

reckon we might have to reduce the series to 3 tests if this continues

Get in Freddie!! Brilliant innings. Was a bit jittery there on 99 for a while.

Lets hope we get back on the front foot now and start scoring again.

bit of a wobble after freddie.... but you'd take 471 for 9 like we are now. Hopefully we can get close to 500, and gget a session at the aussies tonight. Very good first innings though!!

Totally. Fingers crossed we can get them to follow on - looks pretty likely at this point.

Meh, we've had a few bad decisions go against but at the end of the day we haven't played well enough. Outside of Warne, McGrath (when healthy) and possibly Ponting I don't think you could make a case for any of our current cricketers outplaying their counterparts.

Having said that though, I don't think we'll roll over and give up the Ashes this easily. Surely one of Langer, Hayden, Martyn or Gilchrist will get a score to finally add some steel to the batting lineup. If we can string a few good partnerships together, we'll be in with a very good chance of knocking off the English IMO.

Absolutly gutted away on holiday whilst the next test is being played, got in hot water sunday as it was the misses birthday and i sat all day and watched the test. Hopefully the boys can do it now, but i think the seris is far from over and this next one may be more nail biting than all the other tests put together. Come on England :TU:

I cant see us losing the last test, even if McGrath is part fit and makes the Aussie side. The gap between the two sides has been pretty big over the course of the test series, without the rain at Old Trafford we'd have it sewn up already.

Just a quick question did anyone really believe that we would be in this position of only needing a draw to win the ashes ? I thought that we would be competitive, and probably lose 3-1. Agree with you nick that, 1st test aside, we have been by far the better side. Just hope that we continue to play well in the last test or that it pisses down for 5 days. No offence J hope you have a good time there.

I think far the better side is a bit much. Austrailia came within a whisker of winning that second test.

I know it can be argued that it should be 3-1 already, it can also be argued that it should be 2-2.
