Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
I see they've changed the organisation names for the belts. Instead of listing as an abbreviation (WBO), it's listed as World Boxing Organisation World .. Any reason for this change? It looks more messy now.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Is there any way of searching for boxers by area? e.g. so I could search for all fighters born in or fighting out of Merseyside.
Fighters have their birth place and residence listed so would have thought it would be possible to implement if it hasn't been already. Would be a good feature IMO.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Have some sort of 'friend' list so one can identify those we enjoy a debate or chat with.
Indicate 'watched' fighters from ratings page.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Why is Jorge Kahwagi listed as a winning fighter when all his fights were fixed. He's so slow I would knock him out lmao
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Hi there,
My name is Miguel Ángel and I am referee and judge in Spain. I just want to report a mistake in the following recent bouts:
Jonathan Castaño Vs Felipe Nsue; Ezequiel Gurría Vs Jorge Pinilla and Eloy Iglesias Vs Dumintru Nicu Manea. They all took place at "Los Salesianos School" and not the stated venue.
Thank you

Hey team,
I LOVE this website. I am on here every day. Please get rid of the pop ups though. I use my phone on the site and constantly get hit with spammy pop ups and even porn popups from time to time. They are typically bad enough that I have to get off the site and come back on multiple times in order to get my fighter research done.
Sincerely,
Majo

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Really, why have locations been truncated to a state where no state is given (how many Springfields are in USA?), and even links (a href-s) have been removed, where I could at least point the cursor over the location to see the state where the city is located?
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
A few things that annoy me about the new Boxrec
1. On a fighter's profile it used to have a number next to every one of their fights. So you could see for example that Mayweather fought Corrales for example at fight number 20 and was 20-0. Now there's no number so you can't estimate their record at certain fights.
2. Why have you now spelled out the entire sanctioning body titles "International Boxing Federation" it's much more aesthetically pleasing to simply show "IBF" in addition to this because of the myriad titles out there, you have to squint to make sure it doesn't say "regular" or "interim" or whatever. "WBA interim" is much clearer than "World Boxing Association Interim title"

etc
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
There is only one full WBC title and one full WBF title. I don't think anyone is going to mistake the WBC for the world boxing commission, which I've never heard of.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Just another small request to make the dates in the "Schedule" column on the Watch List link to the actual events.
That is how it used to be. Now, to find out the boxer's opponent, I have to click on the boxer and scroll down to his most recent fight. If I want to know who else is on that card, I have to then click the date, and search for the specific event amongst all the scheduled cards.
Previously, you would just click the date on the watchlist and it would take you straight to that card - you could immediately see the opponent and who else is fighting.
Thanks for your consideration.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Was looking at the boxrec wiki to find previous ring magazine annual p4p lists. I noticed 2013-2017 are missing or no one has updated it yet. This is the period I'm interested in. Can anyone update the list or help me out please?
Ranking weight and points
Kieran Gething (780239) from pontypool last fight at 10st 7lb... should he be ranked at welterweight now? And with 17 points instead of 15?

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Tracey Johnson (http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/579277) weighed 230 lbs for a bout classified as "cruiserweight" against a 200 lb opponent ( 2018-01-27 vs. Cristiano Pedro). Might this be an error since he never topped 219 even for his heavyweight bouts? It seems that either he was also 200 lbs, or the bout should be classified a HW bout? Thanks
edit: I just realized this is a 'suggestions' area, so: maybe there should be an explanation of how the classifications (HW, CW, etc) are determined when the weights are disparate.

The weight is the official weight sent to us by the commission.SportsRatings wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 17:07 Tracey Johnson (http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/579277) weighed 230 lbs for a bout classified as "cruiserweight" against a 200 lb opponent ( 2018-01-27 vs. Cristiano Pedro). When there was a big disparity these used to be called catchweights but it really has little meaning unless a title is at stake, I wouldn't worry too much about itSportsRatings wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 17:07 edit: I just realized this is a 'suggestions' area, so: maybe there should be an explanation of how the classifications (HW, CW, etc) are determined when the weights are disparate.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Devon Alexander and Amir Khan have had their faces on the boxrec landing page for like the past year and a half. I'm under the impression that boxrec was displaying the faces of the guys whose profiles were most viewed in the past day or something like that, and then at some point, boxrec stopped tracking new viewing data or something. But like... maybe it doesn't make sense to keep displaying their faces from now until eternity. It probably increases the load on the servers each time they are displayed.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Also, here's a weird behavior. If you go to a boxer's profile, and then click on his world ranking, it takes you to a rankings page with an offset that is divided into 20's. E.g. if you click on a boxer with a ranking of 49, then it will link to a page like "ratings?offset=40". Well once you're on that rankings page, it is displaying 50 ranks at a time, i.e. rank 41 - 90. But the page links at the bottom / top of the rankings correspond to increments of 50 starting from rank 1 (1-50, 51-100, 101-150...). So, in this example, it will say that you are on page 1, even though it is displaying rank 41-90, and if you try to click on page 1 to get to the real page 1 (rank 1 - 50), you can't click it, because it thinks you are already on page 1 (because the #49-ranked fighter is in the 1-50 range).
The fix is simple -- the rankings link on the fighters' page should not use offsets in increments of 20, but instead increments of 50.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Maybe the actual WBC could just be listed as such as the World Boxing Commission could be spelled out to differentiate? Appreciate that it must be annoying though so no worries if not.
Also, the RING Magazine's rankings are recorded fine when you view 1 year at a time listing every division, but when you want to look at each division by decade, they haven't been updated since 2012, could this be fixed as well please? Not a major inconvenience as the rankings are available, it'd just be nice to have all the rankings for 1 division in one place. Thanks.

Or color code them like how you do the fighters Win/Loss/Draw stats?
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
To be honest maintaining the titles is a real pain in the backside, every day new ones email asking to be in the system ![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
