Yeh 3 monster left hooks by Ruddock, Dokes was out after the second one, the third near decapitated him

Carlos Monzon vs gratien tonna.
Had to watch it as I had memories when I saw it live on TV. Oddest ending to fight I had seen to that point.

A one of my favorite fights. How only Ruddock got up after that left hook?

Incredible eh, Ruddock went down like a stone spinning 360, monster left hook by Morrison, looked a finisher for sure, Ruddock was flat on his back looked out cold but camera panned to Morrison and when it went back to Ruddock a second later he was up on his feet and ready to go
It was an excellent fight but ruined by poor refereeing and having standing count in place, Ruddock was giving 2 poor standing counts plus stopped on his feet prematurely, the left hook was the only legit knockdown Morrison scored

Liston vs Cleveland Williams 1.
Sonny was an absolute beast at his best. If not for Ali, he'd have been champ for a decade.

Tommy Morrison vs Donovan Ruddock
The fight was billed as Raw Power......most definitely did not disappoint.
I'd kind of forgotten that Ruddock had been so very inactive with just one fight since losing to Lennox in 1992....he missed some prime years there

I love that one. He's in danger of getting stopped on a cut. They explicitly tell him they're only giving him 1 round, and he does what he has to do to end it in that 1 round.
Great stuff.

Tony Tucker vs Mike Tyson
Round 1: Tucker
Round 2: Tyson
Round 3: Tyson *
Round 4: Tyson
Round 5: Tyson
Round 6: Tyson
Round 7: Tyson
Round 8: Tyson
Round 9: Tyson
Round 10: Tyson
Round 11: Tyson
Round 12: Tyson
Rather anti-climactic fight. Tucker does ok early on, and then just kinda falls asleep. Tyson lands a good bit of heavy blows, clearly wins, but it's dull.
The * Indicates a Toss up round that could've gone either way.

Didn't Tucker break his hand in some of the early rounds?

He did.
I remember him lifting Tyson off his feet with an uppercut early on and that's probably when he broke his hand, because he became more passive after that.

I had not realised Tucker had smashed his hand!
It actually feels like a pretty decent effort by Tucker not to get blitzed and hear the bell.
