Rd 5. Canelo pushing Floyd back, and started landing his own jab with more regularity. Close for Canelo. 48-47 Canelo.

Rd 6.Canelo really starting to land clean. Looking very good. Still close, but the clearest round yet, and it's for Canelo. 58-56 Canelo.

Rd 7. Floyd dominant. 67-66 Canelo.

You've had some really questionable scoring in your tenure here... but this is the most outlandish of all.

There wasn't anything wrong with my analysis of Garcia's chances based on his style and prior performances...he just stepped his game up. Good for you for anticipating that. I thought it was competitive over the first half (not close to a schooling as some have said), but Alvarez came undone in the second half.

CJ Ross probably would've had Carlos Baldomir winning 5 rounds against Floyd. Maybe would've thought Gatti got 3 rounds of the 6.

I only watched the fight from round 6 on but I have real trouble scoring any of the 7 rounds I watched for Canelo and I am not a Floyd fan.

Ok. I apologise for my abrasive approach but im not buying that Garcia has improved that dramatically over a small number of months. The truth is that Danny was better than you thought and Matthysse wasnt quite as good.

Also, I had DG-LMM 115-111 for Garcia.

I don't get why some are bitching about the official scores and I certainly don't think it was one-sided.

Can you think of any examples? I was, I assume, closer to at least one of the actual judges than were most of you. I can't say I always agree with CJ Ross by any means, but I don't give a guy credit equivalent to landing heavy blows every time he does a shoulder roll like most people do with Floyd, and I expect that was her theory, too. I also don't give a guy credit in individual rounds for being the pound for pound king, or for being the Showtime commentators' unanimous favorite fighter. I watch the rounds. I watch who's landing the clean effective punching, who's the effective aggressor, and who's the ring general. You don't get any of that by reputation alone. Watch it on mute or just really carefully, and you'll see that in roughly half the rounds, Floyd isn't really doing all that much offensively. It's smoke and mirrors, aided by a co-operative broadcast team. Floyd is as good as anyone out there, give or take. But he's not invincible, and you shouldn't score his fights with the preconception that he is.
