“Jokes aside, that's not something that will necessarily be solved in one phone call. But it will be a discussion point over the next week or so.”
I find that sort of stuff embarrassing. They should just flip a coin for those things, it’s not worth anyone’s time or effort negotiating them.
The promoters love it though don't they?

This is where the negotiators can win their little victories and gain a bit of one-upmanship, even if nobody else really gives a sh*t.

Like the Haye-Bellew shït. The presser was literally just talking about which names first etc.

Fury vs. Joshua: Bob Arum urges Eddie Hearn to “shut up” until negotiations complete

There’s really nothing new on the fight, but we’ve got some promoter chirping

Top Rank’s Bob Arum, part of Fury’s team along with Queensberry Promotions and others, told talkSPORT he wishes Hearn would stop talking until the deal is done

“It’s very, very hard for Eddie to shut up. I told him, ‘Let’s get this over the line, let’s get this done, and then we’ll make a joint announcement.’ To stop Eddie is like stopping a raging river, he can’t keep his mouth shut.”

But Arum also said basically the same things Hearn has been saying:

“The negotiations have been pleasant, it’s proceeding like every big fight does. ... And all I can say is that the issues are gradually dwindling. That’s what you wanna do in this type of situation, you wanna diminish the number of issues. And now the number of issues is less than a handful, so I am very optimistic that this is gonna go over the line.”

To be clear, Arum’s message about Hearn should just be taken with some humor, this is not something that’s going to sink negotiations. Arum and Hearn have worked together in the past. They are from different generations, they have different points of view, but they work together. As Hearn has said many times, he feels that while Arum might trash anyone and everyone, if there’s business to be done, the business can get done. And Bob has taken much bigger shots at Eddie than this one.

Look, there’s every reason to believe we are getting the Fury-Joshua fight. But yeah, the number of updates without a deal will definitely be testing everyone’s patience by now, because the updates are nothing new. It’s just a negotiation for a huge fight going along, and it seems it will get done in due time. The last target Hearn had for the fight happening was June. It could be June, July, August — we’ll see. There are a lot of moving parts, and COVID isn’t helping anything here.

Yeah, it's Hearn, who is always telling how close this fight is, but it's impossible to judge from the outside, even if their negotiations are indeed doing well. For the fans everything will be clear only when the fight gets officially announced. Everything else is a cheap talk.

We're looking at August now..

I don't see why Fury can't have a crappy fight just to dust off some cobwebs before then.

Even a 10 round non-title fight.

If he couldn’t fight in December when he should have done and a week before AJ then he’s not going to fight now.

Arum really talks rubbish at times. Tells Eddie to stop talking about the fight and then he talks about it himself! It’s the biggest fight in world boxing at present so anytime an interviewer meets either Eddie or Bob they will ask for an update on the fight. They’re promoters so are hardly going to stay quiet about it as their quotes will bring articles and discussions which ultimately helps build the fight.

It was only a month or so ago when Bob came out and said they’d finalised a site for it!

Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua TV deal set to depend on venue

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have several options open to them regarding a championship TV deal on both sides of the Atlantic.

Firstly, touted venues in Las Vegas and the Middle East may be the only two real possibilities moving forward. And the event site can have a knock-on effect on what kind of broadcast deal gets over the line with their respective teams.

As we know, Fury fights on BT Sport in the UK. Joshua on Sky Sports Box Office exclusively. ESPN and DAZN in the US.

Taking the fight away from home, Box Office predictions of up to £49.95 per purchase – which WBN first revealed in December, are indeed gathering pace.

In any climate where a fight of this magnitude featuring two boxers from the same country feature, Sky Sports Box Office and BT Sport usually share broadcast duties.

TYSON FURY vs. ANTHONY JOSHUA in VEGAS

If Fury vs. Joshua happens in Vegas, which is now favored by Eddie Hearn, Sky and BT would have no problem sharing custody.

Should the unfathomable take place and the undisputed collision does head to the Middle East, there are no guarantees about BT Sport’s involvement.

Joshua’s TV giants at Sky Sports Box Office may be able to take the event exclusively to their platform, ahead of BT.

While in the US, DAZN will have a say in what goes down too. Their stake is due to their ongoing deal with Matchroom USA.

Top Rank boss and Fury’s US handler Bob Arum will argue that the fight should be televised solely on ESPN PPV. In order to reach the most households possible.

The only sticking point is whether DAZN, a streaming service by trade, will accept. Alternatively, put forward a different PPV platform on a one-off basis.

US fans are accustomed to going through DAZN in this kind of manner. Therefore, Arum may be willing to cut a deal.

DAZN has a host of territories around the world. This fact means Arum could barter for ESPN PPV to have sole rights and DAZN to take the rest of the world – barring the UK, of course.

Furthermore, there’s much to be discussed. Provided Fury vs. Joshua can finally be signed in the coming weeks.

Firstly, a horrendous source... secondly, I thought DAZN only had first refusal on AJ fights, not exclusivity.

I can’t see it being £50. If it’s more than £29.99 I’d be surprised.

Tyson Fury spotted at McDonald's despite being in training for Anthony Joshua mega fight

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are expected to agree terms on a £200million mega fight in Saudi Arabia soon, but The Gypsy King still found time to pop to McDonald's and indulge in a fast food treat

He previously told LadBible: "I had a treat day yesterday, actually: a full box of Thornton’s chocolates. I had a Sunday dinner, two bowls of trifle, a McDonald’s triple cheeseburger, two Diet Cokes and a bar of chocolate.”

Nothing wrong with that at the moment. Tyson needs to make sure he’s mentally in a good place and if that means eating a bit of rubbish c.18 weeks out from the fight then so be it. I’m sure he’ll still be in great shape come fight night.
