Anthony Bellew appeared to have part of a rat stuck on his hairline. What was that all about?

Great fight and an incredible finish. Ruthless and conclusive.
Credit to both lads. I’d love a rematch.
I can see Conlan winning that wide.
Let's face it, Wood was only winning the first 2 minutes of round 1, and the last minute of round 12.
At no other point in the fight was he ahead.
It's only a pleather belt, let Woodie keep it and make a few bucks. It's about his ceiling.
Conlan on the other hand, should be working hus way towards a shot at a real belt.
Harsh. I was no fan of Wood but after round 7 he was picking up rounds.
If Conlan gets knocked down in the last and survives I’d have had Wood winning by 1 point.
Conlan’s work-ethic, timing and pop went in the 2nd half of the fight.
If Conlan wants to be a star he needs to improve his variation, engine and learn not to sit on the ropes when fatigued against someone who’s had 6 KOs on the bounce.
No way was this fight one-sided after 11 rounds.
I didn't say one sided. I said at no point other than the first 2 minutes of round one was Wood ahead. Most had Conlan up by two or three after the KD in R11.
It was Conlan's third 12 round fight, and the first real pro fight where he had someone put it on him for more than a few rounds. He was unlucky not to win, in what was the comeback of the year for Woodie.
I expect Conlan to learn and improve, he is always going to be hampered by a lack of power, but last night he was the superior boxer.

baluta put it on him all fight and took mick to a majority. wood did it with more fire power though and mick threw a lot more in the first half than he ever has before

Fair enough and you’re right Wood was never ahead but weirdly enough if he wins that last round without that cracking right then he would’ve retained his belt with a majority draw.

Yes that was close.
I only got to see a highlight package of that fight unfortunately. If you say Baluta put it on him all fight, fair enough

Just watching it now. Woods only real success in the early early rounds is that right hand to the body, but he does really thud that in there quite frequently.

Totally agree. He fought the fighter. Tactics wrong. Next time he won't make the same mistake.

leigh wood, between his toddler shoes and poodle hair, is one of the goofier looking boxers. not someone you'd pass on the streets and suspect was a high level pro boxer laying dudes out

Great win for Wood, yes he was behind and was coming off second best in most of the exchange’s but he never lost heart, even when he was being picked off he didn’t slack off, he kept pressing and kept Conlan working, Conlan was winning but was being pushed to his limits to stay ahead, ultimately Woods single mindedness payed off and I wouldn’t bet against him repeating that win should they meet again.

Just watched the fight again. Didn't really score it properly the first time..
I had Conlan 105-102 heading into the 12th.
Had Conlan survived a KD in rd12 and made it to the end.. what would it have been? 113-112 for Conlan.
Scorecard doesn't matter tbh.
Had Wood winning 4, 8, 10, 11

Never in my life have I cared about which side of a square ring the action is taking place in when listening on the radio. Your imagination is good enough.

Yep, McIntosh was attempting to introduce something new to radio commentary and give listeners the position of the boxers in the ring....unfortunately, it didn't have the impact Big Ron was hoping for....quite irritating actually !

Wonder how he would’ve called Conlan being switched off?
“Conlan”s been snoozed by a Leigh Wood straight right hand and he’s fallen out the ring at the quarter to six position”

Same. Had Conlan up to the point where Wood needed two KD's and he didn't get the stoppage until the last minute and a half. So definitely Wood won it the only eay he could on my card.

He timed the big hand accurately and connected quite demonstrably with the face of the other combatant which told him it was time for bed. He went into a soporific stupor which he couldn't recover from and his lower limbs dissipated, losing powers of perambulation and his discombobulation was apparent.

I was scoring the fight live and I had the fight super close heading into 12th. Especially after the kd in the 11th, I thought that the winner of the 12th would either be the winner or at worse be a draw. That’s right on line to what the scores were. The 10-8 round for Wood if Conlan was able to stay inside the ring on that kd would have given him the win.
I’m a huge fan of British scoring. It’s so far better than Vegas scorecards. I’d hate to be foreign boxer trying to win a fight in the USA. It’s all cooked and garbage here. I can’t stand watching kids come here and continuously get rooked out of a win. You would think at some point it would get better but it’s all garbage here.
