Smith has looked more vulnerable lately, lot more than miles on the clock and a lot of punches taken… hard to predict with Eubank but if he goes for it I think he’s stopping the smaller Liverpudlian mid to late.

Still think Eubank. Smith will be competitive throughout but it’ll be two similarly talented fighters with one been naturally a bit bigger & stronger & Eubank will win the majority of the rounds to get a 117-111 type decision.

You didn't think Benn's team would take any chances did you?
They wanted Eubank drained to buggery and back, whilst Connor would be roided up the yazoo.
And that, boys and girls, is how you protect your nepo-champ :salut:

Eubank could have easy money for Benn, but instead he got pounding from Smith. Well, I didn't expect Eubank to be unprepared like that. Smith was landing right hands quite easily.

After Smith's ridiculous and stupid gay comments, it was one of the few times I have wanted Eubank Jr. to win. Unfortunately, I just don't think he's good enough as a top level fighter. Every time he's stepped up, he's been found wanting.

Unless you count DeGale. And that said more about DeGale being at the end of hus career, for me. He was spent.

LOL I was trying to get onboard with this clock face shenanigans to start with but then it just became too annoying. Especially when Ron was still insistent on updating us on the clock face situation during moments of intense action.

I could just imagine some truck driver coming down the M1 with the commentary on, trying to work it all out with a big frown on his boat race.

Funny.

Yes, Eggbert Benn might have done him some serious damage.

No wonder team Egg were so desperate to boil Eubank Jr down with a rehydration clause.

Benn with all that 'protein' from his eggs would have been in prime position to smoke Eubank Jr.

Eubank looked pale, drawn and weak right from the start.

The change in trainers was a bad choice too, especially so late in his career. He's caught between styles now and has lost the attributes that made him competitive in his younger days as a result. Shambolic, really, watching him try to learn a different style on the job that he's not really equipped to pull off.

Smith was professional though and took full advantage.

Chris Eubank Jr's team are considering an appeal with the BBBofC over alleged elbow from Liam Smith in knockout win

Chris Eubank Jr's promotional team are considering an appeal to the British Boxing Board of Control over an alleged elbow from Liam Smith in his stoppage win.

Eubank Jr was brutally stopped by Smith in the fourth round of their British middleweight battle at The AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday night.

But Kalle Sauerland of Wasserman Boxing, who promote Eubank Jr, have confirmed they are considering an appeal to the BBBofC about Smith's use of an elbow in the combination that led to the first knockdown.

"We are looking at it," Sauerland told Sky Sports, when asked about a potential appeal.

Eubank Jr's trainer Roy Jones Jr had also suggested an illegal blow on social media in the aftermath of Smith's stunning triumph.

He wrote on Instagram: "Avoid Roy Jones Jr as a trainer! Never mind this elbow…… Just avoid him - Damn, If I can take all that away from a fighter via training, no wonder I raised so much hell in my day!!"

Eubank Jr raised concerns about Smith using an elbow during the filming of The Gloves Are Off, a few weeks before the fight.

"I'm just saying, I like when I see guys doing the headbutting and the elbowing, because that means that they're not true, and when the going gets tough they look for ways out, they look for ways that they're not supposed to use," said Eubank Jr.

Smith replied: "You're reading that all wrong. I'll do anything I can to beat you, anything. It's a fight, it's a called a fight."

Regardless of an appeal, Eubank Jr could activate a rematch clause for an immediate return bout.

"We obviously have that rematch clause, but we'll let the dust settle," Sauerland has told Sky Sports.

"We've got a few weeks to activate that. We'll take an internal discussion, see what the best way forward is for Jr and go from there."

Jrs ego and need for making some money whilst there may be promotors and sky willing to fund it will surely mean he asks for the rematch and use this elbow thing as the only reason he got beat by smith.
