I'm with you. I re-watched the Smith fight last night and while Yarde won't be as gung-ho as Smith, I was still struck by how good Berb's footwork is... those viewing him solely through the lens of a heavy-handed slugger are making a big mistake IMO.

He keeps his feet a million miles apart to generate that power and still manages to move them well and stay close. BUT I think when you have them that far apart it can let you come off balance when you get hit from the correct angle. I do think Bert has some very slight vulnerabilities but I don’t think Yarde is the guy to exploit them.

Of course if you’re betting your house it’s gotta be Berb in about 7 ( bookies think that ) but as an outside bet Yarde is a good one: he’s certainly not gonna be overawed after that Russian job, a loss that’ll probably help him, he’s got bottle and he’s got fast hands. If he can avoid the heavy artillery long enough to land his own, it could get interesting. I just had a bet on Yarde KO at 6/1, to add to the drama

“I’m interested in watching this too. In my opinion, Artur is naturally strong and mentally he has the background that is very, very big in two Olympic games, and world championship. He has big experience and mentally more older than Anthony Yarde.

“Therefore, it’s an interesting fight, but I think so, Beterbiev will smash him before the middle of the fight. Everything depends on setting it up.

“If Artur is rating him enough and will be ready for the fight, yeah, I think it’s going to be a win for Artur. Also, if Anthony is going to be ready for this fight but mentally, it’s the most important to be ready mentally. If he can be ready mentally, he can show his big heart, but we’ll see.”

It does seem crazy to give someone who’s only had 11 amateur fights q chance against a generational talent like Beterbiev, I mean why don’t the bookies have it at 20/1 ? Tight bastards

I think Bivol can Outland him and defend the bombs coming back over 12 for sure, but that’s a proper fight. Absolutely love to see it.

Tend to agree, but appreciate Lep sharing his PoV.
There are a few things I'd politely disagree with, but I honestly would be shocked if Yarde tries to bully him, don't think that will be his gameplan at all. If it is, think he'll just end up like Smith as seen nothing in his defensive make-up to suggest he'll be able to avoid walking onto something.

the first time Yarde even gets hit with a jab he won't be thinking of bullying his little sister any more never mind Beterbiev
