I was serious. 90% of the those books written by politicians and self-help gurus are written by ghost writers. It's actually an easy and enjoyable process, I'm told. You hire the writer, spend time with him or her telling your stories, and they write it up in a book. They are still your thoughts and stories, but they are written up by a professional writer.

There is a divorce lawyer here in St. Louis who has done it for several self-help books. (He advertises his firm that way) He was encouraging me to write some self-help estate planning books the same way. I went so far as to interview a ghost writer before I decided to retire and dropped the idea.

Though Atlas didnt say so when he talked about TV productions nowadays while addressing Ring 8 members, one could get the impression that TV dictates exactly what they want to hear out of their analysts and colormen. Atlas did say that the major stations that carry the fights like HBO & Showtime have technically a huge stake on what fighters they show and want to be successful.If HBO continued to show bum of the month fights like they did for awhile-their goes their viewership to other stations. Their goes their support from the different alphabets,thus losing eventually the promoters too.Thus the money.

Just got in from a rain-soaked pre-season Jets vs Cincinatti Bengels game. Jets in a blowout.
Plaxico Burress 3 huge catches from Sanchez-one a 30 yd TD pass.
Sanchez looking sharp,only played first half. Jets looking good right now but players saying they need more time to gel even better.

For you LA guys: NY Jets announced last month that since Mark Sanchez has such a huge following in South California- some radio station out of LA (I didnt get the call letters or number) has picked up broadcasting ALL the Jets games live to you guys for the season.
It went to state that since football virtually disappeared from the LA area,that they would expect alot of fans to tune in.
I wouldn't expect one man like Sanchez would get that respect-but he is looking good so far.
One thing left to do-GO GREEN

I know what you're saying Tom, but it wouldn't feel right to me having somebody else write my words, I rather write everything my way, bad grammar, misspells and all. I am not looking to publish a book, all my short stories I post here and elsewhere I am saving for my kids/grand kids/great grand kids to read long after I am gone...thanks for your encouragement though, believe me its appreciated.

The last Pop Warner football team I played on was the Garden Grove Jets in 1964. I like the name, "Jets".

The Raiders come down here thirty years ago and tease us with our first Super Bowl Championship.
Then the bastids turn Hollywood and fall apart. I was glad when Al Davis went back to Oakland.
The Rams? I was happy Georgia F. did L.A. a favor and moved to St. Louis. We were happy to see them go.
Let's face it, we know the 49'ers and Raiders will not bring a Super Bowl to the Golden State, that's just a memory.
San Diego? Forget about it. I like San Diego teams and the city itself about as much as Mel Epstein liked The Beatles.
The Jets have a "Southern" California QB (USC no less) playing for a team with solid NY fans.
The combination of the two (I have a lot of NY buddies here in LA) works well for me.
Sanchez is a Chicano, no prima donna. Two years NFL experience and both years led the team to division finals.
This year, maybe a Super Bowl? Win or lose, the Jets are my team.
I really don't care if LA gets an NFL team or not. If they bring some Mid West team here I'll never attend a game.

Maybe if California had a few major sports franchises (besides the Lakers) that were capable of winning on a regular basis, the fans here will get into the games and not feel a need to create violence at our stadiums. What happened in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium recently, and at the Raiders-49'ers game this weekend, is unacceptable.
