Did all right didn't he for a Bristol boy who had most of his big fights on the road?

Glenn tends to forgotten a bit I think - with the Brits having had so much success at SMW at that time - but he won a few good ones.

Neville Brown was fun for a while as well, sad that he never kicked-on although his career was okayish all the same.

I just saw the Ruben Olivares vs Chucho Castillo I fight about 2 hours ago. It was a very entertaining contest. A classic Mexican all out war. It is a fight clinic for young cats that want to pursue a boxing career. This is how you fight! Both fighters gave a clinic of how you suppose to fight inside. Castillo reminds me of the great Carmen Basilio in his style. The only difference between him and Basilio was that Basilio threw much more punches and combinations. He was busier. But, Chucho was a hell of a fighter. He gave El Puas, all he could handle. He dropped Ruben in the third round with a perfect left hook. But, Olivares got up fighting like if nothing has happened. After round 9, it was all the great Ruben Olivares! He started hooking that body with much more continuity. I will see fight #2 sometime this week. I gave fight #1 to Olivares 146-142.

A masterclass from Toney, a really good performances and a great combination of boxing and slick in-fighting.
Seldom seen a fighter slip punches up close, as well as Toney did here.

George Foreman vs Joe Frazier 1+2

Frazier was actually doing great in the 1st round of the 1st fight,he was tatooing Foreman with left hooks but once George put him down,it was a demolition job,still Joe got up all 6 times but Foreman was bouncing shots off him even taking him off his feet with one shot,brutal display of punching

That was 1st time i'd ever seen the rematch and TBH it was an excellent fight,Frazier did have a little success with single shots but Foreman was a man on a mission and just walked Frazier down,i was happy to see the ref wave it off after the 2nd KD because Frazier was done but being the warrior he is ,would've continued

Smokin Joe showed he had incredible self belief along side those massive kahunas to rematch Foreman after the first fight.

Johnny Nelson v Carl Thompson.

Although The Cat was always one of my favourite fighters, I have to give props to Johnny Nelson for the way he dismantled Thompson.

Nelson really came of age that night & totally erased the stinking memories of the De Leon & Warring 'fights'.

Good call....Nelson could really turn it on when he fancied it, such a pity that he fenced his way through so many fights and that some really stank.
I don't blame JN when he had a roll at heavyweight but the De Leon fight was hideous.

Jorge Fernando Castro vs John David Jackson - 94 fight of the year

And a good bloody fight it was, Castro would have been pulled out at various stages by a modern day ref, for taking a pummeling on the ropes. Then again the same ref let Jackson fight on twice in the 9th despite the fact he obviously couldn't hold himself up.

Tremendous fight.

Botha vs Briggs. Pretty much a Super Heavyweight, big boy war. Botha won but it was called a draw.

Sonny Liston v Patterson 1 & 2. He demolished Floyd, both times. He didn't look slow, he looked amazingly strong and wasn't just a hooker with that sharp long jab. Very big boy compared to cruiserweght floyd. Can't believe Ali beat him, testament to Ali.
