We're no further forward than we were this time yesterday. Nor is Haye and we all knew we wouldn't be.

The guy stood stock still, square on with his gloves down, just like he did in his previous club-circuit fights.

A hand picked opponent. Hand picked by Haye. To show what?

I already knew a 16stone plus bloke could knock out another bloke if he punched him in the noggin.

Yes.....that was the only good thing. The Dodson bout was good to watch, albeit meaningless on the grand scheme of things.

Martin whilst slow and raw (although I dont think his boxing ability is as bad as some might say it is) he'd still fornicating flatten De Mori lol.

We didn't see the best of DeMori.
His ponytail was pulled too tight which pulled the skin around his eyes too tightly. He also had a massage just before the fight. Then he hurt his toe and finally a flash bulb went off in his eyes.

He's back all right, but we'll probably have to wait until 2019 for this next fight!

To say Haye looked crap based on two minutes of the first round is the work of people that don't like the guy personally. There was nothing wrong with last nights opponent, nor performance. Considering the lay off. I won't be buying tickets to his shows, but good luck to the guy.

The whole thing was a farce, nothing more than an exercise in self-promotion for Haye against a hand-picked Z-class fighter. Those that bought tickets must surely be the most casual of casuals, anyone with half a clue knows that was a shocking card and a non-main event. I just hope he fights someone half-decent next and doesn't clown around wasting time with these mismatches.

Oh for god's sake. Do you have any idea how hard it is to come back from that kind of shoulder surgery? He's lucky to have full function, let alone throw punches every day in training. Then add to that the fact that he's had 3 years out and on top of that he's in his mid thirties. Yes he hand picked the opponent, but then look at the what other champions did. Tyson fought Peter McNeeley, Bruno fought John Emmenm, Foreman fought Steve Zouski. This is what you do after a long lay off, you dip your toe in the water, you don't dive straight in the middle of the north sea. You find out what you've got left, training ain't getting in the ring and fighting, you have to give it a go and see what happens. You fight someone like DeMori, to a sell out 02. He did it the right way, but people like you want to put him in with Goliath's big brother. No sir, just no.

Not rich, but I put £50 on and got £270 back on betfair. I must admit I bottled it a bit in case Haye wanted to shake off some rust for a round or two. Or had told his mates to put money on the 3rd like he did with Audley.

I'm pleased but a bit gutted because I've now only got about £700 quid until payday in a fortnight, which would normally be great but my mrs is due to drop in 3 weeks and we've got loads to buy.If I'd have put my last £500 on I'd be laughing and very, very happy.

I won't knock De Mori as a man - he came and tried, but I was disappointed by his condition at the weigh-in. I gave him a slight chance until then. If you're not in top shape for a real-life Rocky opportunity...

i was away in majorca for a couple of nights but managed to catch the fight on hayes you tube feed. decent quality too.

i enjoyed the return of paul dempsey, asks the questions the others do not dare. I was also very impressed with big ronalds commentary, very eloquent and descriptive. if i was totally critical i would suggest he describes a bit too much as he is used to being a radio commentator..but it was great to have big ronald on the mike. a dam site better than some of the shite we get on other channels.

well done 'dave'. hopefully its not the first and last show from them. we need dave coldwell or a promoter of that ilk to get a contract with them.

That was without question the biggest sit down job I have seen in the passed twenty years of boxing.

Any of the better heavyweights will beat de Mori comfortably. I think even he realizes that now and expect he'll retire.

What was with that dopey dance party thing they had going on?

As much of a joke as this event was, I did enjoy the fact that the commentators took the fight seriously.

I had feared a Ross Burkinshaw Spike TV style level of analysis. Thankfully there were no rugby players, no eating takeaways, no butler coming in and interrupting the analysis to bring in beer.

I just can't believe I thought the fight might go two rounds.

Wish I'd had the balls to put money on it. De Mori was every bit as hopeless as I thought he'd be based on the footage I'd seen of him.

Sure, it shook some rust off for Haye, but how much rust can you really shake off in two minutes? I hope Haye is back out quickly to get to work on someone with at least a modicum of ability rather than sitting on this victory like he's accomplished anything. Job done, some things to be taken from it for Haye, but if serious about being a World Champion again, get back to work quickly.

By which I'm not saying put him in with Joshua, Wilder, Fury or anyone of that level, just someone who doesn't have the ability and look of balloons stuffed up a jumper.

As for Dave's production, didn't really watch it. Skipped to the action (or lack thereof) but what I did see seemed pretty alright though. Not great, not terrible. Certainly looked good enough to put on more shows.

So we've learnt that Haye can hit a 6ft wide poneytailed punchbag without his shoulder disintegrating. Now we need to learn whether Haye can actually be a contender again.
