Yeh. An elite lightweight going the distance with a monster punching Welterweight. Showed chin and heart. Garcia definately get’s more credit even though it was lop-sided. He was always gonna get more credit tbh.
Without doubt. And BS headline has this as a "beat down"? I must have watched a different fight. Mikey parried, blocked, and slipped most of Spence's shots. Mikey is a very composed counter-man.

What planet are you on? Spence gave Mikey a fvcking pasting, he'll be pissing blood for a week after that.
Thank you.. my God what a delusional assesment of a fight. Mikey got the shitbeat out of him, and hurt multiple times. He didn't slip most of anything that's insane.

You always add swear words instead of evidence or facts? Have any opinion you wish. Can't change a man's beliefs anyway. Slow down kid.

Mikey's face was barely marked, no swelling, was never knocked down or even buckled. He was moving very well right up to the final bell. Men with internal injuries from body shots lose their mobility.

I just took a look at this fool's posting history - he says Tyson Fury is the most skilled HW of all time

That explains why he thinks Garcia put on a defensive clinic vs Spence

:shame: Not from me. Spence nullified Mikey’s only chance - clipping Errol early - and used his size advantage perfectly. He was also quicker. Spence very nearly pitched a shutout, but I gave Mikey round 2 (close).

Crack kills dude. Get some help before it’s too late. Mikey has absolutely zero to be proud about. He called Spence out and most of us paid money to see a VERY a very unspirited performance by Mikey. On my card, he lost every single round and at no point in this fight did I ever think “this is a great fight “. It was a putrid PPV. One of the worst PPV FIGHTS IVE EVER SEEN.

Spence completely outclassed Garcia. Only round 2 was close. I expected Garcia to provide more effort, thus being more open for Spence, so I waited for a late KO by Spence. But Garcia wasn't too active, he was just protecting himself from the distance and periodically trying to fight back again from that distance, although he needed to get close to have a success, despite it would have been risky. Probably Garcia's speed was affected by gaining weight too. Well, this fight had almost no intrigue, who needed it? Garcia went out there and didn't even tried much. Spence showed class.

A 4 inch reach advantage, a 4 feet length advantage, in the prime of his life and then be proud of this?

Anyone that knows the details should feel ashamed that this fight took place at all. I think the dwarf still did a reasoneble job.

:TU:

Another LSC vs Mares -style PBC match-up (& not just them: Davis vs Mares, FFS. It's endemic to modern boxing. There've always been fights like this, they just weren't put on PPV & hyped as big fights back in the day). Much bigger "name" fighter against a much smaller "name" fighter who can't hurt him. Smaller dude was just in with a very dangerous guy so fought primarily not to get knocked out. I said as much before the fight. The only thing more tiresome than watching it is the way people fall for it.

Yes, this wasn't Hagler/Hearns this was Hagler/Duran. A fairly smooth win by the bigger man.

I guess Spence didn't see any reason to try to take out Garcia once they got past six. Spence decided to simply cruise to victory whilst staying inside fairly big safety margins.

Mikey's obvious a great boxer, and was able to protect himself from too much serious damage, but not that great to get past the Spence defence.

Very impressive display from Spence who looks more and more like the complete package.

What I took away from the fight was that Spence has a supreme command of his own distance. A step or a slide away and he’s out or in. He used a jab to the head and a straight to the body like bread and butter - later on he started combo punching Garcia. If Spence didn’t have this quality - which is an elite quality, Garcia could have done more but he was always fighting the range battle and losing.

Spence is formidable agaisnt anyone around his weight because of this - I think however think that Crawford has better mastery of this quality if only slightly. Crawford seems to float in and out seemlessly. Spence Crawford remains the best fight in boxing.

I think most fighters already have a good idea, but it still won't stop some so called fans demanding them to move up even when there is no obvious justification for it.

In this case Garcia wanted more exposure and he got it. He even leaves this fight with his reputation enhanced.

The only losers here were some of the fans who prefer to see more action.

There is a reason that clichés become clichés it's because they contain an inevitable truth. Two come to mind after watching that: (1) Stay in your lane and (2) A good big'un will usually beat a good little'un.

When this fight was first mooted the question was asked on here "Would Mikey stand any chance of defeating Spence?" My answer was simply "No". The only question to my mind was would Mikey last he distance? On the poll I opted for Spence by (late) stoppage but other than that the fight played out exactly as I expected, with only the question of whether we'd hear the bell to end round 12. I gave Garcia a share of rounds 2 and 5 otherwise it was all Spence.

It was weird watching the last 3 rounds or so. I was torn between wanting to see Mikey hang in there until the end, and wanting to see him spared any more unnecessary punishment. It wasn't a great spectacle: Spence is too much for almost any welterweight, never mind a oversize lightweight, even one as good as Garcia.

When the bigger man gets a mere points win against a man two weight divisions lower than him there is nothing really to cheer about. The outcome was entirely predictable. 100 years of boxing has proven this. Said the same thing when 6,1" middleweight Hearns beat 5,6" lightweight Duran. That was supposed to be some great accomplishment for Hearns? It was a similar type event yesterday only poorer outcome for the big man. Mikey was barely marked, never in any trouble near a tko, and never knocked down; he hit Spence but of course he has no power to hurt a big welterweight.

If anyone truly thought little Mikey was going to do anything other than box to survive the 12 they're lack of experience and knowledge is evident. I predicted this fight perfectly. My record here shows.
