'I posted leaked 'script' of Tommy Fury fight and had Jake Paul's coach in my DMs'
A leaked 'script' for the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight went viral the day before their bout, fuelling fan speculation that Paul's matches are fake, though the script was later debunked
The person who leaked the 'script' for Jake Paul's clash with Tommy Fury over the weekend says he received angry messages about it from The Problem Child's coach.
Hours before their bout, which Fury won via split decision, a document began circulating online purporting to be the round-by-round script for the fight, fuelling speculation that, as many fans had surmised, Paul's fights were pre-determined.
The post went viral after American MMA star Mike Perry shared it with his 200k Twitter followers, but even though the script was a fake, Paul's trainer BJ Flores was absolutely furious about it.
"It was an Instagram post I think my buddy sent me," Perry told TMZ Sports, explaining how he wound up with the script. "I tweeted it and it's probably my best tweet of all time, probably. It got a lot of attention.
"Jake's coach wrote me and was upset about his reputation … [but] I was thinking, well, Jake never cared about my reputation when he posted a video of what I said to him at practice," he added, referencing Paul's decision to post footage of him getting the better of Perry during a sparring session.
"I didn't really respond to his coach's messages. I didn't respond to it. I just kind of looked past it. It's part of the game."
