its a pity really that the ref didnt take the points off as then almost everyone even DD fans would have nothing much to dispute or whine about .
As it is there are two camps - one saying " we wuz robbed and will lodge appeals and whatever " The other saying the ref was clear in the rules meeting where low would start and the punch was below that point by some margin" and also pointing to comments made by dd about winning in any way he could .

Its a field day for the video makers who will have the warren / dd camp asking them for camera time so they can cry and shout about it .

Getting KO'd by a jab completely lost DDD claim to being champ

Would he actually want a rematch given the ending and what went on beforehand? Fwank and Dod will bleet on about it, but the mental fragility that appeared at the end from Dubios, would he want to just go through a repeat?

What does that have to do with anything?
That was the 9th round, he got hit by alot of clean punches before.
Dubois has alot of flaws, but he has a good chin and lots of power.
I don't care about Dubois at all, but he is receiving too much hate.

You ever got hit by a jab from a 100 kg top boxer?

Yes I have! A number of times and I was a lightweight!

I've also been hit on the belt before! As far as that goes I think the shot was legal

Does it not depend how low/high the shorts are? Also, some shorts have a much larger elasticated waste band than others.

Well, then you should know that every punch can possibly hurt you. Especially if you fought that top boxer for 9 rounds.
It's not a shame to get stopped by one of the best fighters today.

Not saying he WILL be champ one day, but he is just 25 und all those current top heavyweights will be gone when he would hit his prime.
In theory.

:TU:

Exactly.

It was on the belt as in where the elastic wasitband lies and not 'below the belt' it was a bodyshot that put him down and not a punch to the groin...

I mean... you had nearly 100 bouts as a professional boxer so what do you know?

But the term, 'below the belt' dates back to John L Sullivan and probably even further, when they would wear a belt (or sash) around their waist. Below that was a low blow. Now, the 'belt' is six inches long, 'below the belt' takes on a different meaning.

I know it’s a forum.. but I feel it’s been argued to death already.

The ones that believe it was legal are not gonna change their stance and vice versa..

Going round in circles.

And the WBA or commission aren’t gonna do shit.

We’ve seen much much worse than this where nothings been done.

Did you ever feel the need for a 3 minutes 45 seconds rest after being hit on the waistband?

Did you ever feel that your dislike of Usyk (presumably because he's not called Luke Fury) clouds your judgement?

I asked you a question. Nothing wrong with that on a boxing forum.

Only when hit on the chin!

Where it really hurts is in the breadbasket or the sweet spot in the ribs.

The waistband is fine as long as it's not so high up as your breadbasket!

The protector would lessen the blow too.

As is quite typical these days the waistband is above the hip, and punches to the waistband are normally acceptable when the shot is in the belly button range

I didn't think Usyk shorts were high last night, did you? Also, do you think the length of the elasticated waistband should be considered?

There were old ladies from Hyde, Greater Manchester in the 90s who took jabs better than Daniel Dubois

There were several other low blows as well.

All I heard from Dubois' team before hand was that:

A) Dubois was definitely going to win

B) Uysk wouldn't win the British Heavyweight title

C) There wasnt a rematch clause

4) They would look to make Fury vs Dubois for the Undisputed.

5) Dubois would win by any means possible.

End result, Dubois got dealt with. Bravo Uysk 👏
