Even though I thought Jack won rather handily, never the less I still really enjoyed Bob's rant at the BBBOC

Bob must have watched more fights than any other living person at 92. He's definitely a legend. I don't agree with his views on this, but I do love how he doesn't give an F like you say. And he must love it to still be doing it.

Absolutely. Could you imagine having the energy at 92 to fly from the US to Leeds to watch that ringside? I'm an ex-boxing junkie and I wasn't even sure if I could've been arsed watching it on tv. I know he's not everyone's favourite guy but I really admire Arum and his dedication to boxing.

The cards were a bit too wide, but the right man won.
I scored it for Catterall 115-113. He landed the cleaner punches in most of the rounds.

That's about how I had it.
The punch stats are interesting because this time Catterall only came out slightly ahead, and in rounds (purely on the numbers) it was a draw, 115-115.
Taylor made it very close with workrate, but the better cleaner and more meaningful work was mostly Catterall's throughout.
I do wonder about Catterall's stamina at top level, though. Everything else is there, bar maybe one-shot KO power.

Totally agree. I'm 40 next Friday, he's got more energy than me now! Respect to the man.

I once, somewhat surreally sat next to him in the jacuzzi at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. It would be fair to say he had an eye for the ladies.

Taylor can definitely come back from that. Catterall needs to get a belt, would like to see it again.

Think Taylor acted respectfully in the interview I saw in the ring after the fight making the right noises about Catterall being the better man on the night and on the whole comes out with much more credit having fought better too . I thought he was washed up but definitely not so after that performance.

Not sure why this is drawing so much criticism.
Not as wide as some of the judges had it but Catterall was a deserved winner (for a change). He won his rounds much more clearly and even those which were 'tight', you can make a case that he pick up some of those, too.
I think it’s more how they came to their verdicts.
The 3 clearest Taylor rounds were 3, 7 & 9 yet one judge didn’t give him 3 or 9 and the others between them didn’t give him one each of 3 & 9.
If the judges score it 117-111 & they give Catterall all the close rounds but give Taylor his clear rounds you can say at least they know what they’re doing but their scoring is all over the place.
It’s like someone’s not even watched the fight & just randomly given Taylor 3 sympathy rounds.
I don’t know how a judge can prefer Catterall’s work in rounds 3 & 9 but then give Taylor round 12. It’s either incompetence or something more sinister.

I hope that Catterall gets a shot at Haney off of this. While Haney should be favored, Cat would have a legit shot at the W. Probably won’t be a barnburner but I would definitely tune in for the chess match.

Just realised Cat might be the best UK fighter to never win a world title. Hopefully not for long

taylor i thought looked pretty solid. obvs not undisputed champ form, but if he were just some rando i didnt know about id think 'who is this fit, hard guy giving cat heck?' . funny how boxing works, looks better in the fight he loses than the fight he wins
cat, ya, should get on fighting for a world title
