I think putting Savile in the same sentence as anyone because you don't like his commentary is grim.
As for the commentary, DAZN in general simp over the home fighter, and Smith has always been bad for it, so not going to act shocked.
To be fair though, I always found Ritchie Woodhall worse

Smith reminds me more of Dennis Neilsen than Savile TBH

what adam smith thinks he looks like rolling up for commentary, with his reaction to listening back to a replay of himself

Remember when someone posted a video of Scott Fitzgerald stripping naked to make weight?
Smith was caught on tape staring and licking his lips, then looking particularly sheepish when he realised he was caught

I don’t like Smith as a commentator….
I also think he overegged the whole
Hatton thing.
But to put him in the same sentence as Jimmy Saville, or to claim is he is committing fraud, is just daft.

Was chuffed when we got Halling on SKY back in the day instead of him, can't believe so many years later he commentates on basically ALL our boxing
"Power Couple". Cringe

Question for those with DAZN
when you’re watching the fight, do you not have the option to change commentary to say Spanish, or German, rather than listening to the moron Adam Smith?
I haven’t subscribed for a long time, but if that’s an option, then I’ll sign up

Just ask AI innit. Occasionally they do for the big PPV, but not this one. On no, it’s £25 for the full
Adam Smith near death experience as the only option for lucky boxing fans the world over.

I cancelled my sub when Smith started commentating for them. I know a few people who did the same.

Put your bets in now.
How many times will Smith mention Wardley's white collar background?

At least 3. Once before the fight. Once during the walkin (“and here comes FABIO WARDLEY!!!! One of boxing’s real life Rocky stories - from white collar boxer to fighting for the world heavyweight championship! WHO Could’ve believed this journey! Growl growl etc)
And during the fight as well….if he wins maybe a fourth time in the post fight interview. “And who would have believed it Fabio! From white collar boxer to two time heavyweight champion! Could you ever have envisaged making history like this!”
Smith has also been using the phrase ‘beautiful brutality’ in the lead up and in recent fights and I predict he will again. For those that don’t know that’s the title of his previous book….. that nobody bought… and those that made the mistake of purchasing that tome, I am told the book is basically just about himself. Like the Hatton Book.
Smith also recently ruined the press conference with his theatrical delivery. I genuinely can’t understand why DAZN hired him. A brief google search would render nothing but negativity about this prat. Usually I would buy this on PPV. But no way with Smith commentating. I will not pay to have my blood pressure raised to dangerous levels and to have my ears brutally r aped

Shocking that this pleb is there to ruin another boxing weekend. How he's gotten away with it for so long is just beyond me.

Yes you do, but it's still actually him doing it with his voice translated real time using modern technology.

Voilà le respect ! Ooh la la!

nightmare scenario
Lately I’ve got the sound turned down so I can just hear the crowd and can’t hear the commentary.

Another staple Smith phrase: the glamorous blue riband division (heavyweight)
Wasn't that a chocolate wafer bar from the 90s? :)

I just cringed at that. I’m beginning to believe Smith is actually a robot and has a limited number of phrases that he’s programmed to roll out.
We’ve just heard another one “here at DAZN, the global home of boxing”.
