The DAZN prelim corner cameras are always shit. For the main card it goes back up to the usual standard we’re used to.

Howard Foster's most questionable/high-profile officiating decisions?

• Carl Froch vs George Groves I (premature stoppage)
• Joseph Parker vs Fabio Wardley (premature stoppage)
• Chris Eubank Jr vs James DeGale (candidate for worst scorecard of the year)
• Anthony Crolla vs Frank Urquiaga (puzzlingly wide scorecard)

Also, an interesting secondary controversy within Froch–Groves I beyond the stoppage. Groves' camp complained that Foster repeatedly warned Froch about fouling — particularly hitting on breaks/inside — but never actually deducted a point. The subsequent IBF review likewise noted that Foster issued appropriate warnings to both fighters but failed to deduct points.

Are we going to witness another instance of Howard Foster making another questionable decision for tonight’s high-profile bout between Itauma-Hrgovic?

Jolly giving it a good go. Vianello trying to be the sharp shooter at times but getting drawn into a messy brawl.

I still have the snooker final on. So will skip at least the start of the YouTube stuff.

See what I feel coming on for 7pm.
Some BoxingFan you are!

It’s the first fight I’ve been reasonably excited about in a while. By rights Hrgovic should have a massive chance, but Foster being the third man has me very worried about a British stoppage.

When I heard he was going to be the ref, I decided not to lump on Hrgovic at 7/1.

I think Itauma is a big talent but he still has some very bad habits and I don’t think Davison will be the man to change those. If Hrg manages to derail the hype train, it’ll actually do Itauma a massive favour in the long run if it forces him into getting a new trainer.

I did finally stick a score on Hrg to stop Moses at 9/1.

I wish bookies didn't group KO/TKO/DQ, cos I'd bet on Hrgovic being stopped on his feet. I'd bet on Homepride Howard.

Maybe there'll be a KO that surprises me, but at this point I think I've talked myself into expecting a disappointment. Hrg might need to be smart enough to take a knee even if he doesn't need it.

Think the problem is that different jurisdictions have different rules for what counts as a KO and TKO. Also, think some don't even announce it properly so leaves a grey area where the punters would always lose.

From the moment this fight was talked about I thought Moses would steamroller Hrgovic. I've not changed my mind.

The option could just say "Ref jumps in like Clark Kent into a phonebox".

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised, he's taking this seriously alright. One of his legacy problems has been his engine. Imagine if he won.
Probably not allowed. :stop:
Huge opportunity for Hgovic against a guy who has never gone more than 6

Eolaithe wrote: 27 Aug 2026, 20:22That said, there are still questions about Itauma.

He has limited amateur experience, has boxed only 31 professional rounds, and has so far faced has-beens or journeymen, with the media justifying the hype with sparring stories.

And despite his dominant victory over Jermaine Franklin Jr. being superficially-impressive, no one can deny the American being gun-shy and weighing 24lbs heavier than he was for the Anthony Joshua fight.

I also noticed that Itauma was breathing heavily as he walked back to his corner after the fourth round; and in the second half of the same round, his mouth was open while he was pressuring Franklin.

This raised one rather interesting question: is Itauma simply a natural mouth-breather who quickly switches from nasal breathing after only minor physical effort, or is he a front-runner with a shallow gas tank who may fade badly in the second half of a fight?

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Quite a few journalists were predicting Bowe was going to be in trouble against Jorge. I was certainly convinced.

you guys want to know why filip hrgovic has a good chin? its because hes slow. thats why he knows when hes gonna get hit. its always the fast, quick guys that are always in such hurry. so in their hurry they miss things. they're going so fast they overlook the small thing they needed to see. that little thing in the corner of their eye that they needed to notice. the thing you'd need to slow down to see.

David Price was slow, his chin wasn't good
