Im sorry, but selling this as s great fight is horseshite.
It was exciting for the first 7, but wardley basically spammed the same move over and over, and only his incredible chin kept him in the fight.
The two flash knockdowns aside, how many clean shots did fabio land?
Fun for 7 rounds, and there was a small chamce fabio landed a hail mary.
Anybody thinking this is an ATG heavyweight title fight needs to dust off holy v bowe 1 and 2, and 3 even, or Foreman v Lyle.
Surely it was an exciting domestic old school scrap for a world title James? Had all the ingredients for literature, comment and opinion.

Incredible fight. Huge respect to both fighters - they can be immensely proud of themselves.
Wish the corner had pulled Wardley out/the ref had stopped the fight a couple of rounds earlier.

Fair to say it was more relevant to the scene than Wilder-Chis, entertainment arguments aside.

Stop moaning
No one is moaning. Just discussing a fight.

It became uncomfortable them last couple rounds.
Wardley did still land a couple decent shots. Like that uppercut.
But Dubois did well to stay up.
I think his adrenaline was through the roof.
Man possessed.
He could smell the win.
Just kept going.

Yeah, I think this is intrinsically linked to Dubois' heart. Few tougher when he backs himself.
Wardley's leg issue might've been concussion-related of course. I'll look out for his comments. I just noticed it early and wondered if comms had picked up on it?
(Watched it with my dad who had his headphones on, which I let him keep on cos of Smith!)

Yeah the hype on Wardley has been ridiculous. He literally just spams an inaccurate 1-2 all night. One of the worst heavyweight champs ever.

Wardly was still dangerouse to the very end and honestly could have still pulled it out of the bag at any time…. But It’s the rare situation where a fighter still with a realistic chance (low but not crazy low) of winning should be stopped… because if not they probably have a realistic chance of dying…
Also if wardly wasn’t so dangerouse ddd would have finnished him ages ago. There were plenty of times where ddd was as one flurry from a stoppage but rightfully chose not to commit to it…. And unfortunately for wardly that let wardly recover just enough to continue to be beaten…
I hope wardly is ok after this cause it really was bad at times. I think it should have been waved when wardly staggered out of the corner to start the round a round or 2 earlier.
The difference between wardlys first 15 seconds and last 15 seconds of the fight is Mabey the widest gap ever… from the highest highs to the lowest lows.

Fab has been outboxed before and come back with a hail mary BUT HES NEVER been outboxed and hit so friggen hard . The chance of him landing a hail mary grew less and less with evry rnd in the last few rnds he was that beat up and fatigued i doubt he had the strenght to ko Dd even if he gave him a free shot . Whats worse the crn did.nt know / could,nt see this just proves how bad Davidson is . No secret i ve always said hes a boxercise trainer who repeats the obvious has if he discovered it now i.m convinced even more

Glad the undeserved belt he got gifted to him is off Frawdley.
Let's hope he mans up and gives Kabayel the title shot he deserves.

Big win for Dubois. Saved his career. Has lot of options now and he is only 28

. Wardley need to bounce back from this

As you said he's 28! He didn't save his career he still would have plenty of options if he had lost! People really do buy into the media bullshit.

Wardley has had 3 absolutely brutal wars in a row. I know he probably doesn't want to step back from the big time, but he probably could legitimately use a few gimmes just for his health. I don't think his self belief or will will have been shattered by this loss, but his face certainly was
He could use a few where he doesn't get busted up.

Agreed.
Dubois only defeats were against Usyk twice and Joyce who at the time was at his brief peak and Dubois was winning at the time.
He's perfectly fine. No shame in losing to Usyk who is the best of all time.
Even if he lost this one, he'd be fine.

That beating definitely took some years off his career for sure. No human being alive could take many beatings like that, and be the same afterward.

Totally agree with this. Entertaining fight but was painful to watch after rnd 7. Ddd showed massive balls but is it harsh to say at that level I'd have expected him to take out a man who couldn't move or really see? Not taking anything away from either fighter.

Ddd vs Parker, kab, Moses, or fury…. All delightfull options… (Parker one is a bit left field but was ment to happen and I liked it then and still like it now)…
Wardly…. A long time off, surly not the immediate rematch. Wardly has done 40 gritty tough rounds in the last 2 years and then just took one of the worst beatings iv seen…. No more fights this year… a couple of soft touches early next year and then who knows… (that’s of he is ok after this)

Just got up, and my reflections.
COOP arena really decent venue. Show wasn't a sell out few seats here and there empty.
Wardley fought the wrong type of fight imo. Yeh he clipped Dubious on the top of the head in the first and I think that was his downfall really.
He was swinging wildly most of the fight, everything was missing in those wild swings, and I think he was just hoping to connect.
After the second knock down he just fell apart really. There was no game plan. Dubious just kept coming forward in this sloth manner.
Once he inflicted damage on Wardley, Wardley was finished and Howard Foster kept a close eye on him, looking for an excuse to end the fight.
Wardley imo fought the wrong type of fight, he gassed himself out by wildly swinging and getting caught. He should have took him time, used his boxing skills and just kept out of DD way.
There is a rematch clause and If that comes off I'm sure Wardley will do better if he uses a different game plan.
Dubious if fights another opponent, needs be be carefully matched. If Usyk again he will get stopped again.
Strange character is DD, almost like one of those boring work colleagues who tries to fit in but everything he says is awkward.

Wardley fought the only game plan he knew.
All he does is swing wildly
He’s not a good boxer.

If there’s any fighter on earth who you let go, despite the beating he’s taking, it’s Wardley. By the end, the corner should’ve saved him but it wasn’t THAT long before.
I’ve now incorrectly predicted every big Fabio fight btw so what do I know

Wardley was missing so widely he made Dubois look like Pernell Whittaker at times.
It was what is sometimes called being agricultural. He had the fight punched out of him but wouldn't quit and was still throwing occasional hard shots even as the embers were flickering out. Hard fight to stop due to his history.
Im going to watch Derrick Jefferson v Mo Harris to calm down

Wardly is wardly… simple, borderline poor but tough, and powerfull making him very very good. Basicaly the wilder modal…. That’s always been the case, and he did his best. In hindsite Mabey he should have just gone 100 percent roll the dice after the 2nd knockdown… but he probably thought another would come naturally.
This was kinda the fight I expected (didn’t call the 10 second knockdown)…. I figured wardly would take too much and be stopped (he took a lot vs Parker huni Frazer even Gorman. But ddd punches so so much harder. Ddds jab is harder than there right hands. If I’m being honest I thought wardly would get dropped and stopped in 6ish. But I guess his chin is one of the greatest ever.
