Usyk is taller than Fury :yay:
Yeah - he’s taller than Tyson, John, Shane, Hughie and Peter. Few inches off Paris though.

So yes, please do provide quoted posts of posters being upset and stating they don't want it to happen.

I would be very disappointed.
What is your position on Joshua ducking Fury for the WBC title twice in 9 months?

Interesting mixed narratives:

1. On the one hand it is stated that people said Fury was scared of facing Uysk but they were wrong because Fury has now signed to fight Uysk

2. On the other hand, a sarcastic Barry Hearn tweet saying that it was wise for Joshua to turn down £50m to face Wilder etc etc is taken as gospel. Joshua then signs to box Wilder for a 9th March fight, and yet the narrative remains that Barry Hearn tweeted that Joshua was wise to turn down £50m to face Wilder.

Ultimately, none of it matters. Joshua has a much better resume than Fury, and hasn't been dropped on the floor by a 37 year old MMA fighter with no prior boxing experience; and is much bigger box office and commands more respect from the fans and his peers.

Fury is an all time great salesman though. No doubt about that. And he is quite a good boxer. I hope the Uysk fight happens.

It would be interesting to see Fury vs Parker. Based on their respective showings against Wilder, Parker would probably start favourite.

After just a month, the assessment of the Fury's resume may fundamentally change.
And I seriously doubt that "17th February doesn't happen". :OhYes:

I think you are right. I wasn't trying to be cynical in my response. There is always the prospect of injury in world class sparring sessions (see Haye getting cut by Hgovic just a few days before the Fury fight, which was gutting).

I'm just anxious because I do think this is a top draw fight and if it goes 1 round or the distance, it is going to be great to see them in the same ring at the same time.

"Saudi style". The official announcement of the December 23 show was made only on November 15.
And there are only rumors about the under card for the AJ show by now, nothing more.

Maybe other boxers are also sceptical about it actually happening?

Shawn Porter has his doubts that it'll happen as well. Reckons Fury will try to find a way out.

For the benefit of BigPrecious, Shawn has never applied to become a member of The Knitting Circle.

Someone that never really got mentioned was Ngannou did really well for a 19 stone heavyweight. Back in the 90’s it really seemed like pushing your weight over 18 stone was a bad thing in boxing. I remember Lennox coming in just over 18 in his final fight and he looked relatively sluggish and out of form, but also of course Vitali was quite good too. Bowe was never as good as soon as his weight crept over 17 stone post-Holyfield 1. I suppose Fury looked useful in Wilder 2. But Ngannou actually carried the muscle and seemed to be able to do the rounds. That’s impressive! Hopefully the thread on Fury’s weight will return. Post-Christmas I went for 280 pounds/20 stone.
