Thanks for the comment. If my memory serves me correctly,I don't remember a lot of open range and horses on Taylor Street. The only thing I remember my father talking about horses is when he went to Italy with his father(Diamond Joe)and ate a horse meat sandwich.

I also want to congratulate you for training your sons so well in the art of boxing. I know because I had the pleasure of refereeing some of their fights when they were little. I don't know if it was Frankie or Tony but I can remember one time when one of them was so mad that he had tears in his eyes because he was having difficulty finding a way to flatten his opponents nose. He finally figured out a way to let him have it. He won the fight and that put a big smile on his face. You might remember this fight because you were working in his corner.

Do you remember that fight for the championship? Jackson took a terrible beating. He showed nothing. Also Jackson was acting strangely in his corner prancing up and down. I know he had some mental issues. A tragic figure in the sport. His people should have been looking out for him.

Thank you Rodolfo, no I don't remember that, I do remember Tony getting mad in his fight at the finals of the 1964 Jr. G.G. because his opponent started crying wouldn't fight past the first round.That was at the Valley Garden Arena.

Elite car show Los Angeles Concours d'Elegance to be held Sunday

In only its third year, the Los Angeles Concours d'Elegance has carved out a spot among the region's elite car shows. The charity event is back Sunday, with 350 cars at the Rose Bowl and adjacent Brookside Golf Course.

General admission is $30 at the gate. Children under 12 are admitted free, and there is ample free parking. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

2007 Class Winners for the Los Angeles Concours d'EleganceThe show will include cars dating back to 1904, European and American classics from the '20s, '30s and '40s, muscle cars of the '50s and '60s, European sports cars, exotic cars, hot rods and race cars. There will be 17 horseless carriages and two classes of pre- and postwar Cadillacs, including Rita Hayworth's 1941 Cadillac Coupe, a 1931 Cadillac V16 Phaeton and a 1957 Cadillac El Dorado.

In the race-car class there will be midgets, sprint cars, dragsters and more. The show also will offer Corvettes, five classes of Ferraris, a Lamborghini class and the 1937 Talbot Lago from the Nethercutt collection.
