Reckless? You're giving Martin far too much credit.
How? He was a legit top ten boxer, yet still a relatively unknown quantity.
Top ten based on what? The nothing fight against a guy who squeaked by Rossy?

There was footage of him available and I don't see any good basis for thinking it was reckless to put someone as promising as AJ against him.

Joshua won't get the chance not skillfull enough!
You guys severely overrate Fury. He ain't sh*t and his reign ain't gonna last.

How can you say that? Martin was the ibf heavyweight champion of the world!
My neighbour's cat could be IBF heavyweight champion of the world!

It's totally meaningless; it's the quality of the fighter what is important.

Joshua isn't in the same league.

Martin is a no mark.
Besides Wlad who on Fury's record do you think could beat AJ?
that's a great point , maybe the John Mcdermott that gave Fury his worst night to date would school Joshua .

I'd back Joshua against Fury I have to say. I've felt that for awhile though. My reasoning being that whilst Fury is definietly better in some areas ie Speed of foot and maybe hand speed, I feel that Fury lacks the power to really keep Joshua at bay and AJ would be willing to take more risks than Klitschko was to land his power shots. Just my personal take on it though.

Chisora and Cunningham.

Martin is nothing.

Chisora and Cunningham would beat AJ? Ridiculous comment.

Just another day at the office for Joshua really, even Cornish landed a punch,2 identical knockdowns, both textbook,Martin delibritely mistimed the count which we've seen loads of times,he actually didnt look badly hurt but he wanted no more

Not much else to add really except congratulations :salut:

cmdenny wrote:Happy for AJ. Real shame the IBF was stripped off Fury as makes it a bit empty. I was bouncing round room when Fury won it. This was a little of an anti climax compared to Fury's win, but still great to see.

Worth pointing out that a few fights ago people were saying AJ was only fighting can's (yeah I know Martin was no World Beater) but now he's just won a share of the WChampionship (albeit in unsatisfactory circumstances with IBF).

I have Heavies as:
1) Fury
2) AJ
3) Povetkin (could take out AJ, but the reach difference is significant).
4) Wilder
5) WK (retire at top after Fury fight either way)
NB - am not sure how to rate Ortiz as 37 now and fringe of being in WC mix.

Eddie Hearn's speech just now made me want to be sick in my mouth.
No way Joshua deserves to be above Klitschko, Wilder or Povetkin.

Joshua can just about sneak into the top 10, but that is about it.

Martin is not a proven fighter. Beating him does not show that Joshua is world class.

   according to Ed Robinson, Joshua is the most impressive and quickest heavyweight champ ever.... Forget the fact that he won his title against a novice who won a title off a guy that twisted his knee, and that he won the world's weakest paper title ever which got stripped without good reason from Tyson Fury...

Fury on his game beats AJ. If he sticks his chin out he'll get knocked out. The fight could go either way.

He went to Germany and outboxed Klitschko in his own backyard, if he "ain't shit", then either there isn't a heavyweight on the planet that's close to decent and hasn't been for 10 years, or you know fornicate all about boxing.

Fury could knock Joshua out.

Fury not being able to punch is a nonsense.
