Even after a victory some still play the victim.
Even after a victory some still play the victim.
I'd like to know what Spence is referencing when stating thissturm vogel wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:04Even after a victory some still play the victim.
He did say something funny about Porter..chuck9788 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:16 I enjoy Spence's boxing skills .... but no one will argue that he's the brightest bulb. Only an idiot would sever a potential future lucrative business deal based on the race card. It doesn't surprise me though, because it seems obvious that Spence is told (by other ignorant individuals) how to speak and think. They want to make him a Mayweather type character, but Spence lacks the creative mic skills that Floyd had/has. When Spence speaks I don't hold my breath for a good quote.
You are one of those “special” bulbs that use 10,000 watts to produce 50 lumens, chuckie.chuck9788 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:16 I enjoy Spence's boxing skills .... but no one will argue that he's the brightest bulb. Pacquiao is half retarded if he takes on Spence at this stage of his career.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:23He did say something funny about Porter..chuck9788 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:16 I enjoy Spence's boxing skills .... but no one will argue that he's the brightest bulb. It doesn't bother me. They are just trying to sound smart and insightful. Happens every generation.
I am sure there were those long in the tooth who were “a little bothered” back in the 80s when people compared Hagler, Duran, and Hearns to the beasts of their day.
Of course, but being from the prior generation, its was clear to me that those three (plus Leonard) were perhaps the best group of fighters in one generation I had ever seen. Monzon (my fav) didn't have that kind of competition from so many, neither did Robinson (ok, maybe over his 100 years of fighting, but never at one time.) So yeah, someone will always come out and defend the current star as the GOAT. It's what we do. Invariably, once their career is done, things seem to come clear. (see Lennox Lewis).
He’s tryna steal the bout from Thurman, who also was open to the Pac-Man bouttiny_acres wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:32Pacquiao is half retarded if he takes on Spence at this stage of his career.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:23He did say something funny about Porter..chuck9788 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:16 I enjoy Spence's boxing skills .... but no one will argue that he's the brightest bulb. It's not just stupid it's suicide
Better, chuckie.chuck9788 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:36 Hey, all that I'm saying is that Spence is not an authentic villain type character. Whenever he talks ill of other boxers/promoters it seems to be clearly the opposite of his natural way of acting. Moreover, it seems blatantly forced. Because the truth is that Spence is just a nice kid from Texas that so happens to possess very impressive boxing skills.
I think Spence would beat Pacquiao but at least it would be a good fight and Pacman woukd certainly be capable of showing Spence thongs he's never seen before, an intriguing matchup imo... which is more than can be said for Spence vs Mikey, what a trash fight that was last night. Wasn't competitive or interesting for even a minute.tiny_acres wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:32Pacquiao is half retarded if he takes on Spence at this stage of his career.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:23He did say something funny about Porter..chuck9788 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:16 I enjoy Spence's boxing skills .... but no one will argue that he's the brightest bulb. The 70s and 80s were the golden age of boxing for me. Nothing before or since compares. Nothing likely ever will.oogiebe wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:43Of course, but being from the prior generation, its was clear to me that those three (plus Leonard) were perhaps the best group of fighters in one generation I had ever seen. I would rather see Pac v Mikey, and I think that it might happen.RKY wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 12:04I think Spence would beat Pacquiao but at least it would be a good fight and Pacman woukd certainly be capable of showing Spence thongs he's never seen before, an intriguing matchup imo... which is more than can be said for Spence vs Mikey, what a trash fight that was last night. Spence best Brook in May, then made his first defence the following Jan. 7 months later.. that’s a long wait. His next fight was June, he could have easily had another fight last year and then fought yesterday. Instead, he didn’t fight for nearly a year before yesterday. Inactivity is a killer, but these guys get paid so much for one fight, they only need to fight once a year ha!
Pacquiao would have struggled to beat Spence in his heyday 10+ years ago.tiny_acres wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:32Pacquiao is half retarded if he takes on Spence at this stage of his career.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:23He did say something funny about Porter..chuck9788 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2019, 11:16 I enjoy Spence's boxing skills .... but no one will argue that he's the brightest bulb.
