OF what I have seen available on film of the great Ted "Kid" Lewis, it seems to me that the man was very skilled. HE was strong and had that jab. AND he was always rough inside. HE got great movement.

HE fought guys that were bigger than he was. And to win EUROPEAN and BRITISH championships in 4 different weight classes is an achievement in itself. HE is indeed one of the greatest EUROPEAN and BRITISH fighters ever.

He's no Eusebio Pedroza.

THE Heavyweight Champion of the World, John L. Sullivan from Boston, MA outright refused publicly that he wouldn't give Peter Jackson a title shot.

BUT, James J. Corbett, the Gentleman of Boxing that dethroned Sullivan in 1892, fought Jackson 61 rounds!

Glad and nice to hear that. I have read in his IBHOF page that the American great golfer, Bobby Jones from the state of Georgia, sponsored his first fights as Jack went pro.

The only fight film footage of Beau Jack is his TKO loss to the great Ike Williams for the World Lightweight Title in 1948. Williams stopped him in 6 rounds.

Beau Jack was a shoe-shining teenager of Augusta, GA. His grandmother was the one that nicknamed him "Beau Jack"
