Usyk v Fury should be an interesting fight.
Otto Wallin, the poor mans Usyk, gave Fury problems - I’m hyped for it.

consider also possibility that wilder beats fury and we end up getting wilder-usyk eventually? that would still be interesting tbf, the ultimate puncher vs boxer style clash

I thought that Joshua would win, by way of tko,in round 10. By utilizing his size, strength, and newfound boxing abilities, that he displayed in the 2nd Ruiz Bout. I'm not surprised that Usyk pulled off "The Upset" though. It's not a particularly Big Upset, at least in my book/opinion.
Usyk has Boxing abilities, no doubt. They'll probably rematch in 5 months..? Unless an Usyk vs winner of Fury-Wilder becomes the greater Boxing-matchmaker appeal..? Otherwise though,
Joshua could definitely get em Good in the rematch,if he dusts himself off properly with the right mindset of ambitious requiem.
IMHO and with all seriousness Though, He probably just needs extra rounds vs Usyk, in order to properly figure him out. Usyk isn't a scarey Monster of a Heavyweight. He's basically a tricky Rabbit.

While Joshua is a Lion.
A defeated Lion, yes, but not a beaten or scared one. This should,if anything, ignite a newfound Hunger for Vengeance, for The Pride of Britian.

i picked aj to beat ruiz in the rematch and it was obvious to me there was a clear way for him to adapt and beat ruiz handily, which he did. he got caught rushing in wildly in the first fight and that changed everything, it was hilarious when ppl acted like ruiz was someone who would simply be too good for him and started picking ruiz to destroy pretty much everyone. josh just needed to box more disciplined in the rematch to make easy work of it.
dont see that so much for aj vs usyk, usyk is far more skilled and adapted to whatever aj tried. also took all aj's shots fine and showed superior conditioning. i wouldnt say aj really underperformed much or made glaring mistakes. he is a physical speciment but his 'late starter' stiffness , lack of natural boxing iq and instinct , and the stamina disadvantage will always make someone with far superior skills and elite conditioning tough for him
there seems to be some belief that aj could adapt by going in there bombs away, impose himself, but good luck trying that with his stamina

Great effort by Usyk-I had him ahead 117-111 and I backed Joshua to win on points. Back when scoring even rounds wasn't discouraged, I would have gone 7-3-2 Usyk.

For me Usyk will win the rematch. We must consider Joshua for what it is: a weak champ.

First I have to give big kudos to AJ for taking this fight. I think the power&size would play a major key in this fight
but not so major as the will and the skills. Usyk is not a big puncher and pretty much I think Joshua would try to overpower him.
A very important factor for Usyk is that he'll come very motivated and hungry in this fight knowing its a unique occasion for him to get AJ's belts and unify with Fury. Also Usyk is undefeated and AJ not.
If the judging would be fair I have Usyk winning by decision.
Yes this fight could be a nightmare for Joshua.
Maybe his best chance is to strike early as Usyk is usually a slow starter.
Whatever prep Usyk has planned there's no getting away from the fact that AJ will be the most skilled and powerful opponent he has faced.
There's also no getting away from the fact that Joshua is a true champion.
He honoured his fight against Ruiz (after Miller's protectors let him down) and now he's honouring what could be a very troublesome matchup against the best technical boxer in the division.
Good on Anthony, this is what real champions are supposed to do.
Yup, AJ is a true champion indeed. Nothing to take away from him. If Aj goes all guns blazing early in the fight and not being gun shy, he may have a good chance to T/KO Usyk
but I think Usyk is gonna be very well prepared for everything. AJ is robotic and he's fighting upright and stiff. Usyk has a very good movement, fundamentals and angles.
Imo it's a very intriguing boxing match!

Congratulations Oleksandr Usyk, that was a superb performance by a master boxer. As a Joshua fan I was extremely nervous ahead of and during the fight despite picking AJ to win.
I'm not convinced it would have altered the result but Joshua played into Usyk's hands by engaging in a pure boxing contest, there was hardly a clinch in the whole 12 rounds. His only chance was to jump on him, use his bulk and power advantage to rough him up close and bully him, tie him up, lean all over him, turn it into a slugfest. As it was the only advantage Joshua didn't discard was reach, and that was nullified by Usyk's advantages in speed, technique and stamina.
I know it won't be popular but EO is right in that Joshua was a victim of his own pride, ego, and hubris as well as a masterful opponent. You don't identify what is that your opponent does best and then try to prove you can do it better not if you don't want to tempt the gods.
I don't want this to sound like I think Joshua would have won if he'd employed the right strategy but he sure didn't do himself any favours.

the thing with elite skillful boxers, they repeatedly take their opponents out of their element. over and over vs this type of boxer, people wonder why the opponent didnt press more, why they were hesistant etc. but its part of the quality of boxer to be able to negate an opponent like that.

There's a lot of truth to that no doubt, but Chisora gave Usyk at least as much trouble as Joshua did and nobody would suggest Delboy is AJ's equal. However good Usyk is he shouldn't have been able to prevent Joshua identifying and then utilizing the right tactics.

I gave Chisora on a 1 round more, 3 against 2.

Very likely…we’ve seen it before, he was punch perfect vs Gassiev. Also Candy, AJ can’t just turn into Chisora and vice versa. Chisora did the old rush job which suits his brawler style. Aj would gas out in two rounds if he adopted that approach.

ya agree, aj can do those explosive bursts a couple times a round, he cant constantly apply pressure like chisora does.

F*ck it, Joshua got schooled. What f*cking rematch?
I agree, but sadly, there will be one.
The result will be the same though.
Joshua tried to box a master boxer, which is usually futile, but I get the feeling that if he tried to brawl, it would have made little or no difference.
Usyk is on another level.
Yeah, Usyk is better. Plain and simple truth. Only the Gypsy King is better.
Yes, agree with this too.
Let's hope Fury doesn't disappear again, or having to go for Wilder IV and Wilder V, otherwise Usyk will be 77 by the time Fury is ready for the fight.

The next logical step is Fury vs Usyk in the early 2022. but now Usyk has that rematch clause. It'll be good, if Fury fights Whyte meanwhile, after what the fight for the undisputed championship is finally made.

Now he's telling that Joshua should use his size, but in page 1, he said that Joshua should fight like vs Pulev and outbox Usyk

once says ''I can't see Usyk winning'', then ''I said that Usyk will outpoint AJ if Anthony tries to box with him''.
