Warming to Paul a bit, still think he's a weapon but at least he works hard and takes it seriously, from what I've seen of the two of them, I'd back paul

He is a celeb. His heart isn't in boxing. If it was he would be carrying on his career. Putting in work with various trainers and trying to get an area title. He's hanging out for the influencer bucks as he knows there are domestic guys who are hungry and who would want to do a job on him

Jake Paul/Tommy Fury Reportedly A “Done Deal” For Feb. 25, Fans React

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul and professional pugilist Tommy Fury are reportedly set for a third attempt at standing opposite one another inside the ring.

2023 is set to be a big year for Paul (6-0), who stepped up his involvement in combat sports earlier this month by signing a deal to fight in mixed martial arts with the Professional Fighters League.

But while an MMA venture grabbed headlines, Paul reiterated his plans to make his seventh professional boxing outing in the first quarter of the new year. And it now appears as though that appearance inside the squared circle is set.

Per a report from renowned journalist Ariel Helwani, “The Problem Child” will return to action on February 25 to face Tommy Fury (8-0), the younger half-brother of WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury.

This marks the third time the pair have been officially booked to fight. The two rivals were initially slated to square off in December 2021, but the British boxer pulled out on late notice, citing a broken rib and chest infection for his withdrawal.

They were then scheduled to collide last August, eight months after Paul knocked out replacement opponent Tyron Woodley. This time, “TNT” fell out owing to an apparent inability due to travel to the United States due to his ties with disgraced promoter and alleged criminal Daniel Kinahan.

Despite Paul noting that Fury had ‘fumbled the bag’ on two separate occasions, it appears that the Manchester native is set for a third opportunity at stalling the 25-year-old former Disney star’s boxing ambitions in its tracks.

I’ll be surprised if Fury goes through with this.

Paul will beat him quite handily.

Fury isn't up to much. Hell of a payday considering his lack of boxing talent and experience,

If Fury was remotely decent Paul wouldn't be anywhere near this fight. Way too much cheddar on the line with the KSI fight down the road,

I'd actually be interested in watching this! I don't see it coming off, Fury will have a million and one excuses, but just imagine if Jake Paul smashes him to pieces, Big John will explode!!

I legitimately don't like Jake Paul but I'll be honest I haven't seen anything from Tommy Fury that really indicates that he would be a favorite in that match other than him possibly being better conditioned and having slightly sharper skills. He just doesn't seem to have much of a killer instinct.

Will take place in Saudi.

BT Sport PPV will be the primary distributor.

No broadcast for US set as of yet.

I take it Showtime don’t wanna do a PPV that will be in the early-mid afternoon.

The only interest I have in this fight is the hope that they will finally fight so afterwards we won't have to hear about this match-up again.

I think Jake Paul will win, this is Tommy Fury's cash-out fight he will never have a better opportunity...

I feel like Fury would probably love to forget all about this fight. But he just can’t walk away from that sort of payday.

Problem is, Jake Paul might just be every bit as good as him by now if not better (and I can’t stand the bloke).

A lot of Paul friends or fanboys posting on this…. Most if not all of Paul’s fights have been fixed. Joke knockdowns and knockouts. Well staged cept last fight he didn’t even land. Fury should win if he has anything. The most basic amateur would beat Paul. Give him a ton of credit for marketing himself very well. Maybe good for boxing but a joke when he says he wants Canelo. Travesty. Match Paul with the retired Paul Smith and see what happens. Paul would spark him in one.

Paul is obviously a prize weapon, but it’s a bit daft to claim his fights are fixed, given how carefully he has been matched.

Somehow I don’t think it’s deception that has lead the odds makers to install Paul as a favourite over Fury.

It’s a proper fight, albeit at a much lower level than the occasion would depict.

Tommy has said he has ONLY agreed to the Paul fight due to money.

Well you don't fvkin say.. :brick:

"I was earning my stripes," he told Rob Moore on the Disruptors podcast. "But if you want to slap millions of pounds in front of my face to fight Jake Paul, why am I not going to do that? I've got a family to feed now any day - the reason I've taken the Jake Paul fight is it's financially good.

"There is [a part of me that wants to shut him up] but he doesn't get underneath my skin like that. He can't get underneath my skin because I know what he's doing. He's a whizz on social media, he's made a living off being an idiot, arrogant and calling people out. It is what it is but he can't get underneath my skin.

"All I see with Jake Paul is a business and if you want me to beat a man who can't fight and throw millions of pounds in my face, not a problem, sign me up and that's purely what this is. I've described it all the time as being on Route 66 and I need to stop off in my campervan, fill it up and get back on the road.

"I am on a straight and narrow road to world titles. But you want me to take a slight detour for an awful lot of fuel, pick that up and then jump back on the road? That's exactly what I'm doing here at the end of the day. This is a business, you've got to use your head and every fighter in my position would take that fight if it got offered to them."

Asked if he feels Paul is a legitimate fighter, Fury responded: "No, I don't. I believe he's a man who got it in his head that boxing is a good idea, he can make some money from it and see what happens. There's two completely different people here, I've grown up doing this and it's all I've ever wanted to do.

"I'm not doing it for money, I'm doing it for passion and my dream. This man is just dropping into the sport, dropping in and dropping out seeing what he can do. Making a quick buck - the way the world's gone at the minute it's absolutely crazy and before going on Love Island, even after coming out of Love Island before all this Jake Paul YouTube boxing stuff started, I was fighting legitimate people."

I'll watch it if it happens this time, just because it'd be funny if Fury lost.
