Whenever Tyson faces a decent world-rated fighter, someone that poses a legitimate threat to his unbeaten record, he always raises his game to the next level.
And every time that happens, the likes of Klitschko, Wilder and Whyte simply cannot win rounds. He makes all of them look ordinary.
So I guess it depends on whether you're a glass half full or half empty type of guy...
Either Whyte was off-form or Tyson was too damn good.
I prefer to believe that it was a case for the latter rather than the former.

fury is the perfect guy to make bank in silly exhibition fights tbh
beat the aj-usyk 2 winner, and even if he retires and does novelty fights he can still make big money if he wants to

You could be right, but I really hope not.
I can't bare thinking about all the bluster and hype, only for it to be a WWE circus event. Live on Fite

Re: Round-by-Round: Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte - 23 April 2022
He's always been bang ordinary, slow, one paced, and limited skills.
It was always going to be a rough night, especially as he didn't even have a size advantage

I thought they were both below their best, but Fury got his weight right. Whyte needed to be 240ish and taking his gambles after backing Fury up, instead of bouncing on his feet to pull back from counters, allowing the reset.
Only Usyk has a chance of beating a comfortable Fury, moving and throwing at his own pace like that. I think a whole bunch of heavies would've taken that uppercut, but if you're not pressuring Fury hard it's moot. I wonder if AJ's chin's gone now, but at least he's a big guy with the strength to handle Fury up close.

Look back, lads, 7 years ago I told you all Whyte wasn't up to much. He should worship Eddie for getting him where he is.

Agree, I thought if he tried to go hard he could Mabey cause some problems early but stood of to much.
But Whytes best win was due to a head clash on Parker. He looked shakey vs a fairly unproven Rivas, has lost more rounds that he's won vs Chisora, got knocked by old pov and then best crippled pov, dominated Lucus brown though.... He is a euro level brawler... But still fun and I still wanna see him with wilder, Parker again and AJ again, DDD... Think he is underdog in all of em, but I'd watch the fornicate out of em.

Was.
But for most of us that was years ago, based on his best round against AJ, who's also fallen in our ratings. Parker would've beaten him without the 'butt, and Chisora outboxed him for a while. Top 10's a fair argument, based on the unknowns of the upcomers.
It wasn't. He was top five with The Ring, TBRB and the Boxrec forum's top 15 heavyweights going into this fight. He's had mixed results, performances but he's dared to dip his toe in the water far more than most. That rating was deserving in my book (almost by default) but more so it reflects how poor the heavyweight division is right now.

He's had his moments, but was too standoffish against Helenius and needed to come up with a better plan. He could've gone for it like Tyson against Lewis, or come in lighter to concentrate on Fury's body over 12.
We saw nothing from Fury we haven't seen before. The only thing that impressed me from Whyte is that he didn't bite Fury's feints. He actually held his feet quite well at range, but if you don't pressure the better boxer you're not winning.

He was top 5 on resume, so In people's rankings. But I think nearly everyone suspected he was not a top 5 on ability.
People debate the Chis decision so Astrix there, the Parker win has the headbut Astrix and the poverkin win has the geriatric Astrix.... On paper those are Mabey his 3 best wins... So undindistandably good rankings, but people that account for those astrixes probably don't see him as a top talent even if they begrudgenly rank him high on a list.

Most of us had Whyte below Usyk, AJ, Fury, Joyce and Wilder; liable to lose to Parker and Ruiz; not guaranteed to beat Miller... And then a lot of us'd fancy Anderson to beat him and Makhmudov to KO him. Sanchez might outpoint him, and on it goes. But top 15, sure.
If he carries on I'd like to see him fight Dubois.

The second Povetkin fight had the Covid-19 double asterisk -> **
Povetkin was bobbling about like Lucas Browne in that second fight.

He was shockingly bad. Like already stunned and wobbly as he entered the ring.
Then we find out later he was badly affected by covid, as in on a ventilator affected.

Add in DDD, hrgovic, yoka, jabalov, all of which I'd favor over Whyte. Gassieve too if he ever gets healthy..
I'd favore them over Whyte but I couldnt rank them above Whyte yet... That's the funny thing about rankings.

I'm still not on the Fury bandwagon , is he good course he is , he boxes quite well but for me anyway , its more often than not his sheer size , and i don't think he's fought guys big enough who are good enough , and the smaller guys he's too big for ,, I've always thought a real good in shape Ruiz would give him nightmares , bangs hard enough and has fast hands plus when on form he moves well , for me the Ruiz that stopped AJ would of done the same too Fury .
I think AJ will match him for size and strenght , and hit harder than he's been hit before more oftten ,, Usky is too small ,, Jocye i think is in with a chance, but doubt we will see any of them , theres no way can he keep fighting European level when he's world elite level , so i think he will retire rather than risk it against any of them 3 ,, Usyk ,,, AJ ,,, Joyce ,,,, yet Usky beats Aj and Joyce just too small to beat Fury

Jesus Christ Ruiz is your man?. Even in decent shape his feet are glued to the floor. Would be picked apart at range.
Usyks skill, AJ as a slightly more polished punchers chance, or Joyce just rumbling. They are furys main risks. Fury Favorites over all 3 though.

Out of the up and comers I would pick Anderson to give it the best go as long as he showed no respect and just got on with it. Hard to do when your younger and less experienced though

There's a continual thread on the current scene where forum members have been voting and updating a heavyweight top 15 for a few years now. That's what I quoted. That's a fair representation of how the forum viewed Whyte before tonight.
Greg, you may favour them but surely that's mostly because they haven't stepped up and been tested yet. Dubois tried and was found wanting.
