If Kasprowicz had have been rightly given not out at the end of the second test and we'd managed to score 3 more runs, Australia would be 2-1 up and the Ashes already decided. What could have happened means nothing... as it stands you're 2-1 in front and it would be a shame to see such a good series ruined by a couple of days of poor weather.
And you'd have been chasing more than another 3 runs had Bell & Pietersen not been given out when they didn't touch the ball in Englands second innings.
I was just watching footage of McGrath in the nets and he looks like he's carrying a few extra pounds round the middle. Don't ever remember him having a gut before.
I'm glad he's fit, it'll make it that little bit sweeter should we win. Of course, I'd also laugh myself silly if he tripped over another cricket ball in the warm-up.......

and at old trafford.
really you lot can whinge with the best of em.
Have a read through some of my previous posts before you go saying stuff like that mate. I was merely pointing out that bad luck has gone both ways in this series. England's had a bad trot with the weather and Australia has had some bad decisions go against them. Regardless, I've said England deserve their lead up until now, and my point was it would be a shame for such a good series to end because of bad weather.
Bring on tonight and some bright sunshine, and may the best team win.

Collingwood in for Jones.
Yep.... winning the toss in this game is massive.... with the weather as it is, and the extra batsman..... getting a nice total up today and tomorrow could well seal the game and series.
They're showing it free on a big screen in regents park on sat and sunday btw if anyones interested

Yeah.... 70/0 off 14.... I love the way before the series the aussies were saying Banger was a shit batsman, and Strauss would buckle under the pressure Anyways.... tidy start, and going at five an over isn't gonna please Ponting too much.... like you say, Warne will be on soon.
Not sure how much is in the pitch for him though..... first day at the oval is hardly gonna give too much to the spinners.

Not had a chance to watch it yet, just reading commentary on http://www.cricinfo.com ...... they seem to think he's moving it some too!! Like you say... the man is a genius... there wasn't meant to be anything in it for spnners for at least a couple of days
Thats the one thing england could do with.... a consistent, genuine spinner. I think in a few years Alex Loudon, the lad from Warwicks, could be pretty useful, and will probably take the test spot.
Bell's a pretty tidy batsman really.... just needs experience at test level. I think its good we've stuck with him.
Every fornicating time we get 10 mins from lunch.... some fornicator gives their wicket away.... concentration at the beginning and end of sessions is one of the only things you can slate england for in this series.....but theres been several times when people have got out needlessly before and after breaks etc.
