DC is arguably the second greatest fighter ever. I wouldn't be surprised if he knocked out Francis.

Why would Margarito have to use a substance to harden his wraps and risk getting busted if the same thing can be achieved without it? Doesn't make sense. Plus, the effects Margarito had shown before getting busted were quite extraordinary. You'll have to forgive me for being skeptical of your claim.

It would be a hell of a win if he added Ngannou to his already great achievements in the sport.

Nondescript wrote: 03 Jul 2019, 15:08 I was thinking about this a bit more- whilst he's nowhere near as accomplished a wrestler as Cormier (but he's still a strong wrestler), do you remember Ngannou's first fight with Curtis Blaydes? He had a real hard time taking and holding Francis down, and he's a big old lump himself.

The huge size advantage that Francis has over DC, does make a little intriguing for me.
I think I either missed the Blades fight or forgot it. But, DC is one of the best wrestlers to ever enter the octagon. I recall the way DC pretty much rag dolled a bigger Josh Barnett back in Strikeforce. If Miocic was able to control Francis on the ground, DC will have his way with him there. He may be the smaller man, but he is built like a bulldog and is well proficient enough to control a man of Francis' size on the mat, despite any size disparity.

The fact that MMA fights start on the feet and Francis is used to blowing guys out within the opening minutes makes this fight intriguing. But, if he isn't able to land on DC and get him out of there in the opening round, I feel confident Francis will get stopped somewhere down the line.

Yeah I'd forgotten about the Barnett fight actually! That's a good point.

lol. DC is the most unassuming elite combat fighter I've seen. If you saw him on the beach, one of the best fighters on the planet would be the last thought on your mind had you not seen him before.

I think he actually looks better there than I've seen him look in some of his fights! Ha

My posts based in fact not thoughts mate. If you’ve never had your hands wrapped professionally then try it and see. In Scotland it’s called a ‘stookie’ same thing as we call a plaster cast. I can’t speak for Margarito because I wasn’t there but I’ve had my hands done three times and it was solid. Three of my best pals are former/current pros and I’ve a good few close pals who fight professionally in MMA. So it’s not a claim it’s just a fact.

Just a final clarification, you are stating that there is no difference in hardness between a proper, legal hand wrap and a hand wrap that is illegally designed to form into plaster of Paris?

No you idiot I’m stating that a professionally wrapped hand is harder and heavier than a bare fist and that this should be taken into account when discussing how it feels to be struck by a gloved fist in pro boxing.

Lol. Calm down wee Tommy. We obviously had a miscommunicating. You've got to learn to handle these types of things in an appropriate manner and not like an adolescent.

I mentioned Margarito's wraps in two previous posts and you responded in a manner that strongly suggested that Margarito's wraps would not have made a difference. Apparently you are not aware of the circumstances I was referring to. But, I don't plan on demeaning your ignorance with name calling. You can just take this as a history lesson.

You're welcome.

By the way, the video I posted with Bas Rutten hitting a bag that recorded psi recorded a bare knuckle punch resulting in the more powerful strike over mma or boxing gloves.

You mentioned that a professionally wrapped hand is as hard as a rock. Cannot be true if plaster of Paris is known to cause much more damage when added to the wrap. I don't need to experience having my hands professionally wrapped to understand this concept.

Au contraire. You thought you held some superiority since you've had you wee hands wrapped "professionally" a couple of times, and thought you could get away with some faulty knowledge. Not here buddy. :shame:

No, Tommy was trying to pull rank saying that unless you've had your hands professionally wrapped that you wouldn't know how rocklike they are. There was some miscommunication as I thought he was arguing that a pro wrapped hand was as hard as Margaritas plaster of Paris, as this was the scenario I mentioned more than once. So, since I thought there may be a miscommunication going on, I asked him to clarify. He then called me a moron and said he was comparing wrapped hands to bareknuckles. :maybe:
