Damien

How does this work with regards to our guys improving?
do they get better or worse the more they win or lose
does there power / speed etc improve like most Boxing computer games

or is it just plain luck with the result
THE BOXERS "AGE" MEANING THEYLL IMPROVE OR DECRESE AT CERTAIN ABILITIES AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF THEIR CAREERS , THE STAGES ARE BEGINNING , PRE-PRIME , PRIME , POST PRIME AND END , AND OF COURSE FOLLOWED BY RETIREMENT AT WHICH POINT THE FIGHTER WILL BE REPLACED BY YOUR SON MAYBE OR JUST SOME OTHER RANDOM FIGHTER , ALL FIGHTERS GO THROUGH THE AGING AT APPROX THE SAME TIME BUT NOT EXACTLY FOR EXAMPLE YOU TURN FROM BEGINNING TO PRE PRIME AT ANY POINT BETWEEN YOUR 5TH AND 15TH FIGHT ETC ETC .. MOST PEOPLE PLAYING ARE CURRENTLY PRE-PRIME WITH A FEW STILL BEGINNING , BUT FOR MOST PRIME IS ON THE HORIZON , AND PRIME IS THE LONGEST SECTION , ONCE YOUR IN POST PRIME YOUVE HAD YOUR BEST DAYS AND THEN END IS A REAL BATTLE FOR MOST , WHEN YOUR AT END YOU LOSE THINGS LIKE SPEED OR CHIN ETC ETC . HOPE ALL THAT EXPLAINS IT ALL

SUPER 8'S RESULTS

POOL A

THE POOL STARTED WITH A REAL CRACKER OF A FIGHT IN JAMES KIRKLAND VS KELLY PAVLIK , BOTH GUYS HAVE FANTASTIC KO RATIOS AND THIS WAS ALWAYS LIKELY THAT SOMEONE WOULD END UP ON THE CANVASS , AND IN THE 8 ROUNDS THAT IT LASTED WE SAW 6 KNOCKDOWNS , PAVLIK WAS ON THE RECEIVING END OF 4 OF THEM AND THE FINAL ONE WAS A 10 COUNT . THIS BOUT PROBABLY WONT BE BEATEN IN THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT , FOR EXCITEMENT , AND FOR PUBLIC APPEAL . POTENTIALLY ONE OF THE BIGGEST FIGHTS IN THE WORLD THAT COULD BE MADE AT THIS PRESENT TIME . THEIR RECORDS NOW STAND AT KIRKLAND 40-2-0(34) AND PAVLIK 47-4-0(43) .

IN BOUT 2 ROBERT STIGLITZ AND LIBRADO ANDRADE BOTH VISITED THE CANVASS ONCE EACH , AT THE END THE TV EXPERTS HAD STIEGLITZ COMFORTABLY AHEAD , A DECISION THE JUDGES AGREED WITH . STIEGLITZ NOW MOVES TO 46-3-0(25) WHILST ANDRADE IS 39-4-0(28)

BOUT 3 WAS BOTH THE PREVIOUS WINNERS , AND THIS ONE SAW KIRKLAND HAMMER STIEGLITZ WITH THE GERMAN BEING FLOORED 5 TIMES WITH 3 OF THOSE COMING IN RD 8 MEANING A TKO ON THE 3 KNOCKDOWNS RULE.

BOUT 4 SAW ANOTHER ONE SIDED AFFAIR AS PAVLIK STOPPED ANDRADE IN THE 6TH , THIS MEANS THAT ANDRADE WILL NOT PROGRESS ANY FURTHER EVEN IF HE BEATS KIRKLAND IN HIS NEXT FIGHT AND ALSO CONFIRMS KIRKLANDS PASSAGE TO THE SEMI FINAL

BOUT 5 WAS ANOTHER STOPPAGE WIN FOR THE PUNCHING MACHINE THAT IS JAMES KIRKLAND , HE PUT ANDRADE DOWN 3 TIMES WITH THE 3RD BEING ENOUGH TO END HIS NIGHTS WORK IN RD 9

IN BOUT 6 PAVLIK ICED STIEGLITZ IN A MUST WIN FIGHT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS BEFORE PAVLIK KO'D HIS RIVAL.

POOL B

POOL B BOUT 1 SAW A CLASSY LOOKING ALLAN GREEN KNOCKED OUT DESPITE LOOKING DOMINANT AGAINST JERMAIN TAYLOR , WHEN EVERYONE THOUGHT TAYLOR COULDNT COMEBACK HE JUST LET HIS HANDS GO AND DOWN WENT GREEN , THE FIRST KNOCKDOWN WASNT ENOUGH BUT THE 2ND WAS THE END .

BOUT 2 WAS AN EXPECTED EXPLOSION OF ACTION BUT ENDED UP A TIGHT TACTICAL AFFAIR AS FROCH AND WARD SHOWED THEY HAD OTHER WEAPONS IN THEIR ARSENAL , IN A CLOSE FIGHT FROCH WON BY A SPLIT DECISION , A FAR TOUGHER FIGHT THAN EITHER MAN WANTED TO START THE COMPETETION WITH .

BOUT 3 , TAYLOR VS FROCH SAW A CHANCE FOR TAYLOR TO GAIN REVENGE , HE PUT FROCH DOWN IN RD 7 FOLLOWING "THE COBRA " RECEIVING A SEVERLY BROKEN NOSE , FROCH BOUNCED UP AND HAMMERED STRAIGHT INTO TAYLOR IN ATTEMPT TO TAKE IT INTO THE TRENCHES BUT A SWIFT COUNTER IN RD 8 FROM TAYLOR SAY FROCH DOWN AGAIN AND THIS TIME REVENGE WAS SWEET FOR TAYLOR AS FROCH RECEIVED THE 10 COUNT

THE 4TH MATCHUP BETWEEN ALLAN GREEN AND ANDRE WARD ENDED IN A SPLIT DECISION INVOLVING WARD AGAIN , GREEN HAD KNOCKED WARD DOWN IN THE 1ST ROUND BUT IN THE END THE SPLIT THIS TIME WENT IN WARDS FAVOUR , BUT FOR WARD TO GOT HROUGH HE NEEDS TO BEAT TAYLOR AND HOPE GREEN BEATS FROCH OTHERWISE IT ALL GETS RATHER COMPLICATED

IN BOUT 5 A CLOSE FIGHT SAW JERMAIN TAYLOR GET A 3RD WIN THIS TIME ON POINTS AGAINST WARD , THIS MEANS IF FROCH WINS HE GOES THROUGH , IF GREEN WINS THOUGH THOSE 2 WILL BE LEVEL WITH WARD ON ONE WIN EACH , IN THAT SITUATION WARD WOULD QUALIFY AS HE WAS THE ONLY ONE TO AVOID BEING STOPPED BY TAYLOR , THIS EFFECTIVELY MEANS THAT GREEN IS NOW OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

BOUT 6 WAS A GOOD BOUT , FROCH MANAGED TO KNOCK GREEN DOWN TWICE BUT GREEN FOUGHT BACK WELL TO GET A SPLIT DECISION WIN , DESPITE THIS THOUGH ITS WARD NOT GREEN THAT WILL NOW FACE KIRKLAND

SEMI FINALS

PAVLIK GOT OFF TO A STORMING START PUTTING TAYLOR DOWN TWICE IN THE 1ST RD AND ONCE MORE IN RD 4 BUT IT WASNT UNTIL RD 7 THAT THE REF DECIDED PAVLIK HAD TAYLORS NUMBER AGAIN . PAVLIK WILL NOW FACE THE WINNER OF KIRKLAND AND WARD IN THE FINAL PAVLIK IS NOW 50-4-0(46)

KIRKLAND WENT INTO THIS FIGHT AS HUGE FAVOURITE BUT DIDNT GET IT ALL HIS OWN WAY , WARD DID WELL AND HIS CHIN HELD UP BUT THE REF STOPPED THE ACTION RD 10 TO WARDS ANGER , IT WOULDNT HAVE MATTERED THOUGH AS THE SCORECARDS HAD WARD WINNING JUST 2 ROUNDS .

THE FINAL

THE FIRST FIGHT OF THE TORNAMENT ENDED UP BEING THE LAST TOO , BUT THE FINAL WAS A MUCH TIGHTER AFFAIR RIGHT UP UNTIL RD 8 . GOING INTO THE ROUND PAVLIK WAS A ROUND TO THE GOOD BUT DEVASTATING POWER SAW KIRKLAND PUT HIS OPPONENT ON HIS 3 TIMES IN RD 8 , ENOUGH TO SECURE A TKO WIN AND A WORLD TITLE FIGHT AGAINST CHRISTIAN SANAVIA FOR THE RING MAGAZINE SUPER MIDDLE WEIGHT TITLE

THE TITLE FIGHT
MANY BELIEVE SANAVIA WOULD LOSE TO ANY FIGHTER IN THE TOURNAMENT AND HE WAS LUCKY TO GAIN THE BELT AGAINST MARTIN MURRAY , WHO IN ALL FAIRNESS ISNT A WORLD BEATER AT LEAST NOT YET ANYWAY , SO THE CHAMP GOES INTO THIS FIGHT AS THE UNDERDOG , WHICH IS OF COURSE RATHER UNUSUAL , SANAVIA THOUGH HELD HIS OWN AND EVEN CUT KIRKLAND IN RD 5 , ENOUGH FOR THE RINGSIDE DOC TO CHECK IT OVER AND DECLARE HIM FINE TO CONTINUE , SENSING THE DANGER KIRKLAND TURNED ON THE STYLE AND EVENTUALLY DROPPED SANAVIA IN THE 9TH WITH A HUGE HAYEMAKER , SANAVIA WAS UNABLE TO RECOVER AND RECIVED THE 10 COUNT , JAMES KIRKLAND IS THE NEW SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT RING MAGAZINE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD . HIS RECORD NOW READS 45-2-0(39) , SANAVIA IS 53-6-0(14)

THERES NEVER A DULL MOMENT IN THE CAREER OF MPG AND HIS FIRST SHOT AT A WORLD TITLE WAS NO DIFFERENT . MPG STARTED VERY FAST AS HE ALWAYS DOES AND SOON HAD DEFENDING CHAMP DIETER ROTH ON THE FLOOR , THE GERMAN RECOVERED WELL THOUGH AND CLEARED HIS HEAD PRETTY QUICKLY , FOR THE NEXT FEW ROUNDS ROTH SHOWED WHY HES CHAMPION AS HE MADE MPG RETREAT AND COVER UP , ROTH WAS LOOKING COMFORTABLE AND KNOCKED MPG DOWN IN ROUND 5 AS HE BEGAN TO TIRE . A CLOSE RD 6 FOLLOWED AND MPG SEEMED TO HAVE RENEWED CONFIDENCE AND THUS DID ENOUGH TO PUT A GOOD COMBINATION TOGETHER AND ROTH TOOK A KNEE IN THE 7TH , WHEN THE ACTION CONTINUED MPG STEAMED STRAIGHT IN AS HE DOES QUITE OFTEN AND CAUGHT THE IBF CHAMP FLUSH , THE GERMAN CLUNG ON BUT MPG BACKED UP MAKING HIMSELF ROOM AND LET OFF A VOLLEY OF PUNCHES ROTH WAS ABOUT TO GO ANY SECOND BUT THE REF STEPPED HIM AND RESCUED HIM AS MPG RAMMED HIS PUNCHES HOME LIKE A PRECISION MISSILE . HE HAD DONE IT ..... CELEBRATIONS AEVERYWHERE , THE FANS ARE GOING WILD , AN AMAZING NIGHT ,,,, WHERE WAS YOU THE NIGHT MPG BECAME THE IBF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD .

UNBEATEN SOUTH AFRICAN JOYI STEPPED UP TO SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT TO CHALLENGE FOR THE RING TITLE AGAINST AUSTRALIAN ROBBIE PEDEN , AND THE DIFFERENCE WAS OBVIOUS AS JOYI LOOKED TO FIND IT MORE DIFFICULT BUT WAS STILL LIGHTNING FAST AND HAD GOOD POWER , JOYI PUT PEDEN ON THE FLOOR IN ROUND 3 WITH A GOOD COMBO . JOYI HIMSELF WAS ON THE CANVASS IN THE 7TH , IT DIDNT LOOK TOO HARD A PUNCH BUT MAYBE THE EXTRA WEIGHT MIGHT BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE A POTENTIAL PROBLEM AGAINST THE MORE ELITE FIGHTERS , IT WAS NO BIG DEAL THEOUGH AS PEDEN WENT DOWN AGAIN IN ROUND 11 THIS TIME THOUGH JOYI WAS QUICK TO POUNCE AND FINISH HIM OFF PUTTING HIM DOWN AGAIN A FEW SOCONDS LATER THIS TIME RESULTING IN A TEN COUNT . JOYI PICKS UP HIS FIRST SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BELT , WILL THERE BE MORE TO FOLLOW.
