And no, I haven't forgotten the five pints you had earlier. The fact you "nipped back for lunch" and "nipped back for dinner" is worrying too. What did your mates say? We're they all taking the p!ss? What's wrong with a pickled egg and a bag of crisps?
I didn't take mates. (Which may in itself be a problem.) All of this was done whilst talking to barstaff mainly, and other locals. The five pints during the day was five different pubs. Each one I nipped in to ask if they had the channel, and had a pint whilst discussing it with the barstaff. (Some pubs had to do things like change the channel, ask the manager etc whilst checking.)
The pub I watched it in seemed to be a boxing pub, as they had lots of pictures of fighters up on the wall and the whole pub joined in watching it. Though most people clearly only watched it casually. At one point the barmaid was asked if Tyson Fury had already fought, and she said yes because she mistook Hughie for Tyson.

My calculations tell me I had 5 pints pre-Copper Box show and 7 pints afterwards. All with only myself, the barstaff and the locals in each pub for company. You say that's not bad, but it's not good either.

A decent session, but ruined with the interruptions for food.

Those beers weren't going to drink themselves. I think you performed well.

You ought to gibe yourself a break; you can enjoy yourself a bit (and at least you stayed off the top shelf).

You're probably right. I'll give myself next Saturday off with the rugby, but then I have a week off after that, so may partake a bit.

I'd say the circumstances were more cause for concern than the consumption.

My bank balance took a bashing, but other than that I made it out alive. Even got out of bed the next day to bugger off round my parents for a Sunday Roast. It took some doing though.
