I waited till the last moment to post a prediction, but not because it was difficult. I find it fairly easy to make a prediction for this fight. I believe that in close fights it is technique that makes difference nine time out of ten. And Frampton is far superior technician of the two. He will pull the lead from the early on and leave Quigg in dust. The best chance Quigg has is to take it to late rounds and use his superior fitness to grind a win. Essentially he needs to do Froch and stop Frampton late. However, I don't think he is aggressive enough or that he has an ability to take punishment needed to make Froch work. I dont rule out Frampton knock out at any stage of the fight, especially late but my prediction is Frampton by clear points victory.

It was reported yesterday that Frampton's tea, didn't really care and they let Quigg have it, you can watch the interview with Mcguigan who says it.

how do you mean? I'm well aware that Frampton is well supported all across the UK.
Hearn said in his interview with IFL yesterday it will be 10,000 Irish (Frampton) and 10,000 Mancs (Quigg) but it wont be anywhere near a 50/50 in support terms...

I meant in terms of demographics, Frampton will have the crowd obviously. He has a good fan base here.

Well Frampton never came close of hurting Quigg an he was a bit too flatfooted in the late rounds for my liking. But he won clearly.

Quigg and Joe were out of their element. What was they saying, 2-2 after 4 rounds? Barely throwing punches for 6 rounds. I said he was not aggressive enough but even I did not expect such a lethargic performance.

Split decision my arse, not a classic but a clear winner, crowd bout 70/30 for Frampton imo, first time in MEN n really enjoyed it

ahh well, now that's over its onto Eggington vs. Skeete, Chagaev vs. Browne and Ortiz vs. Thompson next week...

apparently Eddie is going to force a fight with whichever mandatory fighter Frampton doesn't meet either Wake or Rigo for either title.

Nope. The IBF have already given Frampton the leeway by sanctioning this fight with Quigg for their title. They will be insisting that Carl defend it against Wake next or face being stripped of it.

Personally I can't see Carl sitting back & allowing that to happen, so I'm confident this will be his nectar fight - back home in Belfast

Im working away from home in brazil, had no way of seeing it until i managed to get my facetime working. The Mrs showed me the full fight on facetime and even managed to stay quiet so that i could hear the biased sky commentary. You would think that it was Sugar Ray Robinson in there against Frampton in the second half of the fight by listening to them.

Frampton definitely a clear winner for me, Also agree with people across various threads criticising Joe Gallaghers corner work. Quigg should have been given a boot up the ar$e after the 2nd round at the latest. He was just letting the fight pass him by but got to give credit to Frampton. It wasnt a classic but the job has been done and he can move on, Rigo may be the number 1 based on ability alone but as an all round package Frampton is number 1 in the division and can call the shots from here. Unified champion, unbeaten, big following and a very matketable fighter. Between Rigo and Carl, I know whos shoes id rather be in.
