Yeah, but you're biased. It's not ten times better. It's about the same. They were both guys in the top ten.
You say I'm biased, and you're a Tyson Fury fan, but every post suggests different! You KNOW that Martin was nowhere near the champion Parker is.
And AJ is ten times the challenger Hughie is.

And Parker Hughie makes for a dull fight between two guys who are nowhere near the elite. Joshua would wipe both of them out on the same night.

Struggling to see what point you're making here.

It's a much closer fight than Martin-AJ! That's the whole point. Parker has as much claim to be the champion as Joshua.

I'll wait until the day of the fight because I have little confidence in any fight actually occurring.
Who is broadcasting this in the states ?

They just increased the price to $35. Oh well I guess I'll have to miss it. Comcast has a PPV option on a couple of their 800 channels.

Am I mental here? Does the Martin win actually mean anything? Does getting a good hiding by Wlad for ten rounds prove you're the best! It was a defence against an inactive 41 year old man coming off a loss. It's like York City beating Chelsea in a friendly. We still wouldn't be premiership champions.

Is a closer fight on paper a better fight necessarily?

The final sentence is laughable. Parker beat Andy Ruiz for his title for crying out loud.

He struggled past Ruiz and looked frankly bad in his last fight; that was a late, late sub with no track record and Parker should have had him out of the fight sharpish. I know late subs aren't ideal but you couldn't imagine that guy going the distance with Joshua or Wilder.

I think Hughie has been overrated on the basis of inactivity. His power doesn't look great and the fight with Kassi was average. Both of them are miles and miles adrift of Joshua for me.

Don't normally get involved in other people's conversations but Ruiz is a better fighter than Martin and does hold as much weight as a champion as Joshua, even though if they fought I'd fancy Joshua to tear Parker a new one and very quickly

Yes, me and all my mates got on AJ at 3-1 for rounds 1-3 with total confidence. It was stealing money. I wouldn't do that tomorrow.

He said 'the' champion, not 'a' champion.

The champion could be Joshua. It could be Wilder. It could be Fury. Nobody would say it was Parker including Parker himself.

I was thinking that Hughioe can outrun Parker and win a decision. But looking at the weigh in I am not sure anymore. Hughie looks nothing like a heavy weight. Skinny, soft, zero athleticism. If Parker cant walk through that thing he should retire from boxing. He should fold him like a paper.

He does look awful, doesn't he?

The Fury's diet and strength and conditioning are famously awful. But that doesn't seem to have stopped them from getting the wins thus far, does it?

Well Ive talked enougth about so much BS surrounding this fight and not the fight itself mainly because I never thought it would happen.

Anyway I'd rated Hughie at the start of his career but I haven't seen any progression in his opponents. Fred Kassi is his best win but that was a terrible fight. Jarrell Miller beat Kassi with ease. I've been really critical on here about Team Fury turning down the Dillian Whyte fight. Hughie would have learned more there than his entire career to date and it was a winnable fight.

Parker on the other hand has had decent learning fights with Ruiz and Takam which could give him the edge. Where as Hughie has rounds in the bank they haven't been rounds where he has been under any significant pressure. Whilst I don't think Parker is elite, fights for Hughie like Whyte, Miller and Takam level opponents would have benefitted him massively and bridged the gap and prepared him for a fight with Parker.

The fact is the UK judges do give Hughie an advantage. I'm not concerned about the referee at all now it's Marcus McDonnell. I can see Hughie being quite negative much like he was against Kassi. It will be down to Parker to force the action and he needs to go for the stoppage to win. If this is 8-4 or 7-5 to Parker he is losing his belt over here as I just can't see him getting the verdict.

If we forget all the argument about whether its worthy of world title status or not, whether AJ would whip them both on the same night or not etc etc, as Peter Fury would say "It is what it is", and it is for the WBO heavyweight title! It is also an interesting fight in its own right in my opinion and I'm looking forward to it. Parker has been a real gent so far but I expect him to bring some heat tomorrow night and I'm interested to see how Hughie deals with that after a lengthy absence from the ring and a real fight.

If it goes that way it's just fornicating embarrassing. We shouldn't try and get fighters over here just to rob them. If Hughie wins fairly then we'll done to the lad. Likewise to Parker. There shouldn't be any messing around. We shouldn't have to think like that.

Wasn't very impressed with Fury giving Parker a shove I have to say. The Fury's do seem very wound up. I suppose Tyson shoved Cunningham about a bit, didn't he? Parker just seems like such a nice bloke. He's not gobby at all. Very odd.

I like Parker and I want him to win because he will fight Wilder or Joshua next no problems what so ever. Hughie won't as they don't have a good relationship with Hearn and they will price themselves out.

It's all set up for Hughie to win. Refusing to go the NZ, U.K. Judges, Home advantage and a huge financial loss of a show where money is going to come from somewhere to finance it. P

If Hughie wins legitimately I'll give him credit of course, I just have a feeling Parker is going to get robbed unless he stops Hughie.

Same here, thought the shove by Hughie was a bit forced though, like he was trying to wind himself up almost. I think Hughie is probably a bit tense right now, his father has invested a lot of time and money into his career by all accounts so its do or die time now. I really hope the judges or ref don't screw Parker if it comes to that, he is a gent and has put up with a lot of crap thus far. May the best man win.

The Martin bout was farcical, the Klitschko fight anything but. Suggesting Joshua got a 10 round hiding is daft and is you looking through fury tinted specs.

Brothers, cousins and Clifton Mitchell. Was embarrassing by Hughie and he was clearly being egged on by his cronies to take the belt etc. He just wanted to act the big man in the family for once having been in Tyson's shadow all his career. Been impressed by Parker and genuinely seems a nice, genuine guy who has been put through a lot of shit for this fight. Can't stand Kevin Barry and his twat of a son though.

I don't care. It may be something your casual fan would say; I genuinely believe it.

In an era where 'the' heavyweight champion is up for debate there should be no debate around Parker or Hughie's claim to it.

Against a dismal opposition. This is Furys first test. Sure he can run well but does he have a physicality to last in a boxing ring against a high caliber opponent.
