We’ve not seen that with DD, lartey shook him a bit, because going by memory he walked onto a full blooded heavyweight shot; but I’d say his reaction, where we weren’t entirely sure he was hurt, was a good one, and indicates a decent chin...but you can never tell for sure.. it’s gonna be very interesting on Saturday night.

Does Joe hit that hard ? He clubs away heavily yes...
JJ is no one shot artist.

However you will need to catch the Olympian at least hard enough to discourage him as he will keep on coming, he is a very big man, throws plenty of those heavy clubbing shots, can't see many choosing to fight him, big respect to DDD for fancying the job
What's Joyce's path to victory? Dubois has a better jab and brings the right hand in nicely. The left hook to the body which Jennings hurt Joyce with is also something Dubois will target. Dubois is a front foot fighter from what we have seen and if you imagine him operating off the backfoot, I think you can imagine him being much less effective. Joyce will have to put him on the backfoot for me. He'll have to get Dubois respect early. Maybe Joyce is iron chinned enough to walk through the shots and has trained his core enough to take the body shots. The only way I see him winning is putting pressure on Dubois and making Dubois fight going backwards. I can't see Dubois doing that unless he's landed clean shots and failed to put Joyce away or if he's been hurt himself by Joyce. Dubois seems like the kind of guy who would rather fight fire with fire and push you back, rather than go on the backfoot himself.

For me Joyce will need to rely on his iron chin and big engine to keep on coming so that he can break Dubois heart and eventually break him down.

Dubois will need to hurt him to stop him coming on, that would change the fight.

You'd never write Joyce off completely here, he can whack, has a great engine and looks durable, he did get hurt from Jennings though so that poor defence will cost him eventually, he can be hurt and Dubois has the power to finish him, he's fast enough to outbox him, trouble is Joyce is more than capable of wiping him out too, it's a genuine 50/50, a KO for either is highly likely but if it goes 12 Dubois should win a clear decision

Jennings hurt Joe to the body a few times if i remember correctly, I imagine DD has been training with this in mind and will go to the body early. If he gets a hefty dig in on target it could be over that way.

The poll now is pretty pro-Dubois. I remember, it started very even. Well, I'm still with my pick of Dubois knocking Joyce out.

That's right, had Joyce backing up and clearly fvcked, Dubois is a good body puncher, finished Snijders to the body last time out, Joyce finished Wallisch to the body in his last fight as well, rare that you see Heavyweights finish guys downstairs, I'd say most people reckon Dubois early or if it goes late its Joyce's fight but Joyce tends to start fast as well, wouldnt rule him out hurting Dubois early, one of the best fights since lockdown

A win for Joyce here really puts him up there. Some credit will be taken away and people will call Dubois a chinny fraud but I'll be giving Joyce full credit and reevaluating my assessment of him. As things stand, I think he is going to get wiped out quickly by Dubois. If he beats Dubois, you have to put him on par if not above Whyte in the British heavyweight rankings.

i did an updated poll after their last fights and it has joyce ahead. you are prob thinking of that poll being even because this thread has always had it comfy for dub. the poll on this thread has been going for a long time and ppl dont usually edit their vot

So torn on who to pick as the winner for this one but I'm leaning ever so slightly towards Joyce if he can weather the early storm, good points above though regarding the body work of DD, could be crucial in halting the momentum of Joyce. Great to see both fighters putting it on the line rather than avoiding each other, should be a cracker.

Joe Joyce's Manager is Shocked That Daniel Dubois is Ranked Much Higher

"Joe is below Daniel, quite unbelievably and outrageously, in the rankings," his manager Jones told Sky Sports.

"Dubois is sitting pretty at No 2 on the cusp of a world title fight with either Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk [the current WBO mandatory challenger] depending upon if the belt becomes vacant. If Joe beats Dubois, he gets that spot. This is what motivates Joe. Joe has been in the deep end from the get-go but has to beat a 22-year-old who is tipped as the next Mike Tyson - that's his quick route to the world title. So be it.

"Joe wants fights against the likes of Joshua, Fury, Usyk. It would be an honour to share the ring with Joshua. Two Brits is always a huge fight. After this fight, Joe will be in the mix and able to call out any of the top guys. Joe believes he belongs in that company."

Is there a way to buy an official stream of this fight on TV without being a BT Sport subscriber?

Joyce has a fairly good engine for a HW, pity it's a non-turbo diesel

So basically PPV? Pretty sure there isn’t, must admit I've looked into it before as I don’t have BT Sport either. Streams should be easy to come by on the night, and Talksport are covering live on the radio if you fancy sticking on t’old wireless.

Would BT make more money if they allowed non subscribers to buy fights ppv?

I believe you can buy the Box Office PPVs on the mobile app (maybe therefore smart TVs or tablets etc.?) without being a BT Sport subscriber. Haven't done it myself but it might be worth looking into.

They would but not sure there’d be enough demand to make it worth the hassle. I’m sure they could do something similar to what Sky have done with Now TV.

I'm going for Joyce sometime after the 7th after slowing Dubois with a left hook early on, from which he never quite recovers :OhYes:

The monthly pass is kind of what BT would consider the PPV option,

BTs ideal strategy will be to rope in new subscribers and keep hold of them. They are also using it as a showcase to announce Dubois to the casual market (clearly they/Frank are desperate for him to win) with hopefully for them a big KO.
