Sponsoring that people are giving usyk shit for taking this fight instead of staying in Ukraine and being a liability. He has more to offer to the war as a PR mouthpiece.

Oseledets.

It's a traditional Ukrainian hairstyle associated with the Ukrainian Cossacks.

To be fair, it's a traditional Ukrainian haircut. The Russians don't like it, their derogatory name for Ukrainians comes from that haircut.
He could well be sticking his fingers up at the Russians with it, and I think a few Ukrainians will appreciate it.

Fair enough, I wasn’t being serious and no one can blame him for getting the hell out of there, especially when virtually every Ukrainian, surely, would much prefer to see him give Joshua another pasting. Then maybe flatten a big Russian

As some others have said , Usyk beating Joshua again will do much more for the morale and spirit of Ukraine than having him on the front line and possibly getting killed.

Hard to know how Usyk will turn up on the night , a distracted emotional wreck or a modern day Buster Douglas who turned the sadness of losing his mother into motivation to deliver a performance for the ages.

Usyk is obviously doing a right thing with sticking to his job. Maybe he would choose it in the beginning, if he had an opportunity. It looks like during recent years Usyk's residence has been changing between Ukraine and US, while most recently he has been living in Kiev. When all the stuff started back in February, Usyk was alone on the business trip to US, but was forced to come back home to take his family away, after what he apparently wasn't allowed to leave Kiev, since seemingly no man was. Maybe that's why Usyk chose to talk publically about his desire to stay there. However, when it was allowed for men with 3 kids to leave, he used this opportunity.

I don't understand the digs at Uysk. No one thought Russia would attack. His wife rang him at 4am in the morning to say a war had started and he flew back later that day.

He has had a photo taken in army gear to help raise the profile of Ukraine, and now, as the fight has moved away from Kiev, he has continued his career and is already using it as a platform to support his country by giving interviews and setting up the Uysk Foundation with all the money raised to go towards re housing people and weapons.

And, in the build up to the fight there will be press conferences etc and he will be able to talk more about Ukraine. I think taking this fight is the best thing he can do for Ukraine.

If Usyk donates just a small share of his purse, he will be doing far more for the population of Ukraine than by standing in a trench.

‘All agreed’ – Eddie Hearn confirms Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk is on and reveals the month in which it will happen

Eddie Hearn has reiterated that the Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua rematch is ‘all agreed’.

AJ lost his heavyweight belts to Usyk back in September, but days later activated his contractual clause to force a second fight with the Ukrainian.

Talks began for the rematch, but were then disrupted in January by the proposed step-aside deal which would have resulted in Usyk to facing Tyson Fury instead.

Negotiations took place with representatives in Saudi Arabia, who were looking to pay AJ and Fury’s mandatory Dillian Whyte to step aside and allow the two champions to meet in an undisputed showdown.

Ultimately this fell through and Fury is now set to face Whyte on Saturday night, live on talkSPORT.

As a result, Team Joshua’s attentions turned back to Usyk, however when Russia invaded Ukraine in February, he returned to his home country and joined Kyiv’s territorial defence.

It wasn’t until late last month that Usyk confirmed he’d left Ukraine to train for the Joshua rematch.

As the second fight is coming about via a rematch clause in the contract for the first fight, all the terms are already agreed from that initial contract.

All that needs to be decided are the date and location, which Hearn expects to be finalised imminently.

“The fight’s all done, it’s all agreed,” Hearn told talkSPORT Breakfast on Tuesday, “It’s 100 per cent Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk the rematch.

“We’re finalising the location at the moment, his team are in London this week so we’re gonna sit down with them.

“I think in two weeks time we’ll finalise the date. It will be July.

“And hopefully AJ can become a three-time heavyweight world champion.”

Latest reports state that July 23 in Saudi Arabia is the target date and location.

Are you seriously saying that nobody is bothered by Usyk/AJ 2?

Why does that get you upset? Can’t you see why the fighters would want a rematch? 🥴

because in the time all these guys went over old ground an undisputed title fight with the other champ never happened. but a bunch of rehashed less interesting fights did

of course, i can see why fighters would want to get paid huge money to fight bad opponents too, doesnt mean i should like it

Whyte said a few years back, that he reckons he and AJ will fight around 4 more times.

He said it’s one of them rivalries.

They fought in 2015, and it’s been 6 whole years since.

Whyte was offered a fight for 3 world titles and said no. Most he was offered was £4m to £5m?

What did he make against Fury for just one belt? £7m?

Maybe it was the sanctioning fees.
