Yes if after being in the best shape of his life, beating Klitschko and then immediately testing positive, then I agree the narrative would have been very different.deadpan wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 12:11I disagree! If Fury's had been revealed a few days before the Klitschko fight it would have been massive news. Instead over time he was able to muddy the narrative about his time away from the ring with talk of cocaine, weight gain and depression.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 04:37 A year from now most people will have forgotten that he is a drugs cheat, same way that they did with Fury.

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
conor's positive tests came days before a domestic super fight and he has been very combattive, inevitably drawing negative reactions. its easy to understand really

CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 09:33 Although they’re both equally guilty of cheating, one crucial difference between Fury and Benn is that Tyson’s a very intelligent man whereas Conor’s a jumped up entitled little moron.
This emotional intelligence led Tyson to correctly realise that nobody likes a banged to rights cheat gobbing off constantly and so he quickly came up with a story, stuck to it and made very little comment on the matter. His concurrent playing of the mental health card was a tactical master stroke.
Conor, bless him, can’t read a room and his spoilt entitled upbringing and modest success as a boxer living off his father’s name fill him with an arrogance that isn’t counterbalanced by a capacity to think things through properly and so he moans and bitches and accuses and shouts and the public see right through this and condemn him.

I know, I suppose the point is probably the board will give quite a lot under the threat of heavy legal action and Conor will escape with nowhere near 4 years.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 13:39You’re missing the pointpolecateddy wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 12:08Banned by UKAD for 4 years, which is a very common sentence they pass down. 2018 was a zero tolerable year for them, not sure what you’d get for trace amounts of cocaine in 2023. Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
So the eggs excuse is no longer a thing. He's arguing that VADA purposely contaminated his samples and covered it up. He also doesn't understand that shedding doubt over the accuracy of the tests doesn't equal proof of innocence. Insufferable prick.

"My truth" - alright Meghan

'My Truth'... despite all of this clearly being scripted by legal and PR pros.
Still gunning hard for the contamination angle, despite even the WBC failing to take this stance. Really looking forward to him fading into obscurity...

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
It's not just contamination. He's suggesting that VADA acted suspiciously when testing his blood three times then refused to let his witness to be present, suggesting foul play again. Who does he think gains from this? Is paranoia a symptom of PED use?
Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
Yep, fair point. My observation was more around the fact that he's doubling down on contamination as the route out of this despite even the WBC not being prepared to give it traction.

Those claims are very serious. Interesting.

Re: Conor Benn - What Next?
The statements don't make it totally clear that what he must be relying on now is procedural irregularities bad enough to throw out not one but TWO separate VADA tests. I mean good luck with that! I don't doubt that every little testing detail is being massively blown up and exaggerated by Benn's legal team. I fully expect VADA experts to refute every word more or less. The testing a week apart - if Clomifene stays in the body a maximum of 11 weeks, all that's happened is Benn has timed taking his last dose to fit perfectly with the UKAD date but been tripped up by an early VADA test. It's no more mysterious than that!

Every time he comments he’s just making more and more obvious that:
1) he’s a cheat
2) he knew he was cheating
3) he’d like to keep cheating
Not much more to say really

Diĺlian Whyte go of a bit easy no? Race has fcuk all to do with it, a super fight got cancelled on fight week and he's not shut up about how it was everyone else's fault ever since, that's why he's getting a hard time.
