Usually they have it there, and it says premieres live on such a day etc..

The Paul-Tank Davis fight was being advertised for weeks before it was cancelled. Maybe after this weekend, they might start promoting it?

Yeah a bit odd, even if you search for boxing it doesn’t show it, but I guess they are targeting people who don’t have Netflix and sign up to watch it so they wouldn’t see it advertised anyway.

I don't see the mystery. Joshua takes it a bit easy for a couple of rounds, ends it in 3 or 4, Paul falls over pretty much as soon as Joshua starts to land (this won't need to be deliberate on his part). Jake Paul becomes "a legitimate boxer who went a few rounds with the heavyweight champion". Paul's fans are thrilled and people who don't know anything continue to pay to see him fight whoever they put in front of him. Joshua takes his money and goes home.

There may be more of a fix in than that, but that's all there needs to be for it to be a positive for everyone involved.

If you want a model for how it will look, watch Haye-Harrison.

The longer Paul is in there the more chances he gets to sling a connecting haymaker. For me, there is a potential hazard and the sensible risk assessor eliminates that risk asap. Unless it's scripted and deals are signed.

JP could land his best haymaker and it would have zero effect on AJ

I remember as a kid when Tyson was in his prime, loads of folk said to me that they would happily do a round with him, which was as long as his challengers were lasting, for the like 7 million they were getting paid.

They genuinely didn't understand that they would probably die

You knoe i.m in the AJ will kill him camp along with everyone else. BUT watching a few clips of him ttraining mote paticulsr doing padwork . I sort of raised my eyebrows . I notoced his trainrr padman were midgits compared to him . Hence his punched were going down he was.nt dropping his chin or knees . The punches were turning in and sloppy . Not once did he get a slap and corrected. Whats this all mean . It means hes practicing bad habits that lead to getting ko,ed wheres the lovely STRAIGHT punches Aj used to throw. Said on another thread pads ate a grrat tool when used correctly but when a midgit does pads with a giant i cant see the point jusy forms bsd habit punching . And say what you will Jake paul takes it serios and employs profesionsls who will notice these bad habits. Dd Trainer noticed and look what happenned there

Really ? What if it lands on the temple, wouldn't AJ be seriously disorientated ?

You are talking like JP is a genuine cruiserweight contender

FFS Uysk never dropped him :witzend: :witzend:

I get that JP is smaller and infinitely less skilled than Usyk but even so he's a big (area level ?) lump who's been trained to deliver a punch correctly.

So you're saying there are no circumstances under which JP could affect AJ with a punch ?

I don't think JP can knock AJ out, even if he lands flush. Maybe shake him up a little, but nothing serious. There are levels to this, we are not talking about fighting some retired MMA guy here. He didn't hurt Tommy Fury and both Chavez Jr. and Anderson Silva easily went the distance with him.

I agree with you and to an extent i'm playing devil's advocate although i do think that JP's best punch would have some effect on AJ if it landed flush on the temple.

But Jake Paul isn't just anybody. He's a legitimate, comparatively well trained pro cruiserweight. He's not a very good one, but he is levels above some guy off the street. He won't die (although anything can happen in any ring any time) , and he won't win. He will lose the same way bums have lost to champions time after time over the years.

The only way JP knocks him out is if AJ stands still with his hands down, his eyes closed and lets Jake nail him.

Exactly. All this talk about Jake Paul getting killed is ridiculous, he'll just get knocked out.

If Paul gets slept by a right hand its fine for his boxing carrer (assuming health wise is fine).

The interesting thing though, that really could ruin jakes carrer in boxing is if AJ hit him with a couple of jabs and he goes down...

If he takes the same shots as the 20 stone MMA guy took? Just a KO?

Surely anyone risks serious injury though, JP probably fitter and better prepared than many out of shape HWs that are consistently stopped or knocked out?

Size is a huge thing
Also while JP is always in Eggsellent shape, he has never been punched back much, he isn't used to it against folk his own size.
Furthermore some of the out of shape heavies, have their survival instincts well honed, they know how to stay in their shell.
Yes everyone risks serious injury, but some more than most, that is why we have boxing commissions

Yeah I hear you, I don’t think he’d risk it without being prepared as much as possible though, he’s been sparring with HWs and was 225 against Tyson so will be heavy enough. I can’t see it lasting long but in terms of damage you are probably better off getting sparked with one punch than you are taking a sustained beating over many rounds.

Any testing for this?

I’m really annoyed how much I’m interested in this. I half can’t wait.

The biggest determining factor in any fight is size, that’s why we have weight classes, there’s a gulf in size and a gulf in class. I honestly think AJ is being underrated in this one! I’m interested to see if it’s a real fight or not, and I back myself to read it and afterwards I could tell you exactly what was rehearsed/agreed upon.

The thing is, if AJ just goes off-script and bladders him, what can they possibly do about it?

Rumours circulating Paul has received an injury in sparring.

Is this why there hasn't been any build up, no ads building up this huge event?

Could be a imminent cancellation?
