Perhaps he is genuine, I don't like the whole deeply religious, humble family man + arrogant violent street gangster combo. I'm not buying it. I don't think he's currently the best in his division much less the goat. Let's see him beat scarface and we can start talking about that. Definitely among a handful of the most dominant ever, he's just now starting to stack big names as far as historical ranking is concerned.
I will be rooting for Ferguson.

He is not the GOAT UFC / MMA fighter, nor the GOAT wrestler. He is the GOAT at taking people down, totally controlling them, and wearing them out. He is the GOAT at what he does, imo.

That said, Poirier absolutely rocked him early round 2, and if the American would have had any strength left, he would have choked him out in rd 3.

I think that Ferguson can get the job done.
Exaggerations meet assumptions. Poirer was dominated. Khabib was never in trouble. That guillotine wasnt even tight.

The thing that annoyed me about broner is that he can't fight and people thought he could. Khabib definitely doesn't have that problem. He's a bad ass, just fake as fuxk.
Dunno. Consider someone like Bones Jones as being the epitome of fake. Khabib is more in the realm of uneducated ruffian, or at least to my very limited exposure.
I don't like him either. Lol, though I don't think anyone could ever approach Anderson Silva in that category.

I never suggested that Poirier was not dominated. However, he did rock Khabib early round 2, and he did manage to get in position to apply a guillotine, that he had not the strength left to properly sink in, prior to be submitted in round three.

Ferguson can hurt Khabib standing, and he can submit him if he does. That does not mean that I think that it is a foregone conclusion.

I just want to see it next. Ferguson is getting long of tooth.

On that note. Dana White is a prick; “if Ferguson does not take the fight, Khabib / McGregor II makes sense.”

Translation; “here comes a lowball offer Tony.”

A McGregor rematch would serve no purpose but to generate money. I don't think Khabib would accept it. The outcome would be similar. Conor has done nothing but get in trouble outside the cage for the past year. A little disappointed in Daddy Dana.

I agree. Though I think Conor would stop Justin. Scarface would drown Conor.

Justin's hit me defense and refusal to wrestle would make it interesting. He's no lock over Donald. I think Justin is my second most interesting fight for khabib. If anything could slow that wrestling it's those leg kicks.

Great stuff by Gaethje - winning money on this guy. Nice to see an MMA fighter with proper punching form.

It's a sick joke if McGregor gets a rematch with Khabib. McGregor should just go away. The sport doesn't need his drama if he's gonna fight once every other year and screw up a whole division's matchmaking.

Khabib vs. Ferguson and Poirer vs. Gaethje II are the LW fights I'm dying to see now.

The bulk of McGregor's career so far has been the story of a guy inexplicably getting far more than he deserves. He's a white guy that talks sh*t so I guess he makes other white guy wannabe tough guys feel like he's one of them? :maybe:

His superstardom doesn't really make sense to me. Especially after losing to Nate Diaz.

Losing to Nate in MMA is the equivalent of losing to say Josesito Lopez in a Welterweight Boxing match.

Maybe Nate's not THAT far down the line, but he is not, nor has he ever been one of the top guys in his weight class.

I disagree. Conor's level of fame and money relative to his accomplishments is a little off, but he still has some great wins under his belt. He knocked Poirier out in an under a round, he knocked Aldo the long time featherweight champion out in 13 seconds, and he also has a win over Holloway who has been very dominant at featherweight for awhile now.

Styles make fights though and Diaz was just a tough matchup for Conors particular skillset.

Diaz is a bad motherfucker. Miles and miles above josesito. Ridiculous analogy. Conor has one of the greatest resumes ever. Gil couldn't be much further off if he tried.

I dunno if he follows the sport that closely. He's also said in the past that he doesn't really like MMA.

Yeah, clearly doesn't. I usually don't post when I know nothing about it, rare as that may be.

I certainly wouldn't say I know nothing about it, but admittedly I'm not up to speed on the current scene in MMA all that well, by which I mean...most MMA happenings post 2007

I've actually written up a pretty extensive history of a lot of the early Pride Events though. I have a close to encyclopedic knowledge of the formative MMA years, but my interest waned a lot after Pride went away.

I do still get intrigued by some fighters here and there though. Gaethje is damn sure always fun.

Point taken though. I'll refrain from career comparisons between modern MMA guys and Boxing contenders/fringe contenders because admittedly I don't really know who's who in MMA anymore save for the biggest names there are.

Atleast you're not like Homi who regardless of his knowledge on a topic will stick to his belief religiously even if someone shows it to be wrong

Conor really doesn't have one of the best resumes ever. At featherweight his resume was no better than Mike Brown's despite getting 100x more famous. Above featherweight he's 2-2 with the 2 losses being completely decisive.

He's definitely not a top 20 all-time fighter. Maybe top 50.

I see Kron Gracie is finally locked in for October against Cub Swanson. I guess he is in no rush, but its been quite a break considering he took zero damage against Caceres.

Wow..... actually just came across an interview where Kron says he believes the earth is flat  .
